The service friendly although not in English. A family operation. The Bun Mam was a new dish to me. The broth gets some of its rich strong flavors from fish cake. It took a few bites for me to decide if I liked it, but about halfway through the bowl decided it was delicious. In a city full of great food this was the place we went twice. How can you beat awesome noodles for breakfast, or any other time.

Great little hidden gem in the Tenderloin. It’s tough finding good banh mi and I’d argue here is better than Saigon Sandwich. Larger selection to pick from and feels a bit higher quality. Rest of the menu is also great, with a lot few dishes I haven’t been able to find outside of Vietnam Vietnamese is the spoken language there but the menu is in english - no trouble at all ordering. Workers are extremely nice. Need more authentic places like here in the city A brightly colored cafe tucked away from the griminess of Hyde st. With a handful of tables it's cozy spot to dine in or also takeaway. The owner is the sweetest and you get a real sense of community here. Their banh mi are light and fresh - a focus on flavor rather than quantity. They also somehow have a supply of Vietnamese coriander which I've personally never seen offered elsewhere, it's rare to find. My two recommendations would be to get their fish cake and their sweet pork meatball sandwiches. The owner has made all the banh mi I've ever gotten from there and she genuinely has an eye for detail. You can't go wrong with anything here. They've also got a phenomenal, and small, noodle soup menu. And grab a $2 bean or corn pudding while you're at it. And a Vietnamese coffee

Lovely Vietnamese food in SF! Customer service was extremely friendly and the food was delicious. The restaurant is quite small, but clean and bright. We ordered the porridge, bun mam, and rice noodle (hu tieu nam vang). The crispy shrimp cakes were tasty with a semi-sweet fish sauce. There might be parking right in front, but that depends on your luck. Definitely will recommend this to family and friends!

The attention to every minute detail speaks for itself at this Tenderloin noodle house with a wide selection of broths. The hu tieu mi — pork, shrimp and two kinds of noodles — brings together everything one could want in a single bowl. For a contrast in texture, try the hu tieu nam vang that comes with a crispy fried shrimp pancake. The bun mang vit — duck and bamboo with thin noodles — had a clean tasting broth well-accompanied by a savory fish sauce for dipping. All soups are served with a plate of paddy herbs not seen in other Vietnamese restaurants. The light blue, 1960s retro decor and local clientele grabbing a bite before or after work made the meal all the more warming — staying true to its culinary genre: Vietnamese comfort food.

The Banh Uot Chay at Mong Thu is my favorite dish I've ever had from a Vietnamese restaurant, and the best vegan food I've ever had. Thick, chewy rice noodles, firm vegan pork, crunchy vegetables, fresh herbs, and the savory soy/vinegar sauce all come together perfectly. Great coffee too. Cash only!

Whenever a place is cash only in San Francisco your taste radar should start to ping… Mộng Thu is one such cash only place. I haven’t had a Bahn Mi this good since living in Vancouver BC, and the puddings are an absolute must to finish off the meal. Cảm ơn!

Hidden gem in Bay Area ^^ this Vietnamese restaurant is quite small, but clean, well-organized and bright. The food is delicious. You should try “Bún Mắm” and “Bánh Ướt” here. Affordable price $5-$20

Don’t pass up this little gem! One of the better Vietnamese joints in the hood. Super affordable ($5 banh mi!). Bowl of soup was full of flavor and well balanced. Friendly service. CASH ONLY. They’re basically only open for lunch since they close at 4pm.

Best Viet food in the Bay. Flavor is authentic, so might be a bit different to other Vietnamese restaurants in SF. It’ls like the morning dishes you’d find strolling the streets of Ho Chi Minh city in modern time.
