Went to Mr. Charlies and thought it was funny that’s it’s across the street from McDonald’s. Love the ambiance and the whole “don’t look at me like I’m a piece of meat” theme. The food tasted exactly like McDonald’s. I had their version of the Big Mac and Nuggets. They had a green dipping sauce which was pretty good as well. They don’t have fountain soda’s so you have to have bottle or canned. Service was fine. You just place an order with the cashier. It is pretty expensive for nuggets burgers and fries but worth a try for the experience.

Food Overhyped but Cool Experience I recently visited Mr. Charlie's, drawn in by the buzz around it. The customer service there was top-notch, and the decor created a wonderfully nostalgic atmosphere. As for the food, we opted for the chicken meal. It was tasty, but it didn't quite live up to my high expectations. Overall, it was a unique and enjoyable experience. I'm happy I tried it, but I'm not certain if I'd go back.

I absolutely loved Mr. Charlie's. It didn't disappoint at all. I tried the "Not a Chicken Sandwich", "Not a cheese burger", Fries, & Plant based nuggets & everything was a hit. The burger especially! The atmosphere was pretty dope as well!

WOW burger is SO GOOD and fries are amazing!!! Every bite of the burger is DELICIOUS, And the fries with the big sauce are MMmmMmMM so epic!! After 100+ vegan restaurants I’d say the burgers and fries are some of the best fast food out there! Staff is also super friendly and the MISSION of this place is just perfect ! Their IG really shows true character and drive!! Super stoked they exist! Can’t wait for them to add the breakfast menu soon! (Although the one thing is I’d avoid the nuggets, hopefully they make some in house nuggets soon!! )

Don't expect McDonald's. The burgers start at $6 (pre-tax) here. The food definitely isn't fast; I waited over twenty minutes for my burger. I don't know what they were doing, but I've cooked Impossible burgers and I know it doesn't take that long. Impossible burgers taste meaty, but not quite there. I didn't like the burger, but it tasted as expected. The burger was squished to give it that McDonald's look. If you're a vegetarian, this place has the cheapest vegetarian burgers that I know of. This place is very social media-friendly. It's definitely an interesting place to visit, but once you've been here, you've been here. I came here to check it out, not for the food.

Wow. Mr. Charlie’s! Have been wanting to try for a while, ever since I started to hear about them on social media. As a longtime vegan, it was very nostalgic to experience the flavors that this place is putting out. The BigChuck Frowny Meal hit all the marks. Yes it is $20…but the quality of plant-based food you are getting and the sheer quantity is well worth it. Included, is the massive burger, very large amount of fries, four chicken nuggets, and a delicious natural soda - all inside a perfectly adorable recyclable box. Note: I did not care for the chicken nuggets. They almost tasted too “chickeny” - that said, my husband liked them. Not for the every day, but when visiting San Francisco and wanting that nostalgic dose of childhood fast food-this did it for me. Check out the photos!

I went for no-cheeseburger meal which hit the spot! true to “original” but then plant based, clean & cholesterol-free so even better. Nuggets were top! i hope one day shakes will also land on the menu! Lovely that someone created vegan concept with meals closely reflecting huge brand of junk food & did it so well!! Star less for cashless payments. You hurt my card-free heart 💔

First off, the burgers we had were pretty good. We got the Not a Hamburger, a Double Not, and fries. I read that some reviewers didn’t like the fries, but when I went there (Friday) it tasted good, hot, and crispy. I like how the menu pictures are the same way the burgers are served, unlike many other fast-food chain giants. I saw how they reuse boxes as customer food trays when people ask for one, and that they don’t sell drinks in plastic containers. I didn’t see straws either. They didn’t have much tables or chairs so we enjoyed our food at the union square which was actually better. The staffs were very nice too and welcoming. They don’t accept cash though, and no restrooms either, even to wash our hands. But they provide sanitizers. Vegan or not, you’d like this place.
