If it wasn't for the atmosphere, the clear skies, the perfect weather, and happy mood we were in, Waterbar would've received 3 stars. In short, the price simple does not justify the quality and the caliber of the food. We did have a good time so again, giving 4-stars to be fair. The crudo tower was $140. For that, I would expect oysters, fresh scallops, fresh crabs/lobsters, etc. The oysters were okay, but the crab and lobster just wasn't it. Clearly they steamed it ahead of time and wasn't moist enough. The beef cheek was also a disappointment. Something about the taste was off and the pancake that came with it fared better. Other dishes were pretty standard but nothing special, especially at this price range. Oh, kudos for serving ACME bread (for $6) which tasted amazing. Yes, you can buy it next door. All in all, won't be returning for a while.

We'd travelled to USA for 2 weeks for my 40th, this was my favourite restaurant experience in San Francisco. The bar staff were really friendly and helped recommend wines and cocktails. I'd really struggled finding wines I liked so they let me taste a tiny amount of a few from their glass only list to help me before I got a bottle at the table. The service was fantastic, fast and attentive , the food was delicious, and the views of the bridge were just awesome. The restaurant really changed from daylight to nightlight with the lit up aquarium tanks and the views of the lit bridge. Overall just a fabulous birthday experience it was everything I wanted for such a big birthday and was one of the best experiences, I would highly recommend to anyone.

Great seafood restaurant. Service is on point, pleasant and attentive without too much. The food was great! Amazing scallops and halibut, and delicious dessert. Big wine selection but on a pricier side. And oh, did I mention the views? Lovely!

I celebrated my most recent birthday at the Water Bar. The service was excellent. The food was so delicious I ate every single bite. I had the scallops starter dish and a bath on tray. Several glasses of champagne and some wine and I was happy as could be. The restaurant designed a special birthday message with a dessert on a plate. It was absolutely beautiful. The food was so delicious it's a place you just have to experience. Best meal I've had and so many years.

Exquisite dining experience along the waterfront. The Swordfish was delicious. The ambience was warm and pleasant. Reservations are a must.

Solo dining experience. It was tremendous. I sat next to one of the grandiose fish tanks with a sleeping fish. Super cool. The servers were so kind and helpful. The butternut squash rofolo was probably the most spectacular dish. I couldn’t believe it was squash. I couldn’t decide on a wine w my meal so the server suggested a flight. It was perfect. I had an app, main, dessert and flight for $120 before tip. Well worth it!

Went to have a nice evening with friends last weekend. We were able to get a table on the patio, and had the most gorgeous view of the sunset with the Bay Bridge. The food was fantastic. Everything we ordered was lovely. I had the stone fruit salad and the oven roasted Alaskan halibut. Both were fantastic choices! We also had bread for the table, which was very tasty. When we got our checks, we were treated to little cheesecake bites, and I immediately wished I had 10 more. I will go back specifically to order that cheesecake. Service was excellent, the waiters were friendly and responsive. We always had drinks, and the food came quickly.

My husband and I went on a weekday and we enjoyed our lunch. We had a total of 36 oysters (they're only $1.05), and we also enjoyed our entrees! I believe their menu changes so I can't remember the name of our dishes. Our server was really nice, we sat right by the bridge, it was a beautiful view!

This place offers epic views of the Bay Bridge. We had a dozen of the $1.55 Chef Specials Oysters, and it did not disappoint. They were still offering the restaurant week menu, Tuna Tombo and Lobster Bisque. Tuna Tombo was amazing, but the lobster bisque was a tad salty. We also had their grilled mahi-mahi, which again, we found on the salty side. For dessert, we had the pink lady crisp with the camembert ice cream. This was absolutely delish! They have an extensive wine and drink list which we appreciate.

The place was flawless. While they don’t have their incredible brunch offering, the new menu is an ode to ingredients that are sourced from local shores. If you choose Waterbar Restaurant, get ready to enjoy your meal from cocktail to dessert. Even the sourdough is really good! Bonus points: the waiters are awfully kind and are always smiling!!

Gorgeous restaurant with stunning views inside and out! The floor to ceiling glass windows provide the perfect view of the Bay Bridge. Inside, there's beautiful vertical aquariums. Food is tasty, there just isn't a wide array of options. Still, this is definitely a "must go" restaurant. Service is top notch. Would be great for a date night, or even a business dinner.

Waterbar has some of the best views in SF. Located on the Embarcadero, it’s a premier spot for checking out the Bay. The food is very good and matches the view. We’ve had multiple business lunches and a work Xmas party here and each time service was excellent. Our favorite things to eat here are anything with Crab and the Lobster Rolls. Use the valet service if you don’t want to drive around forever or pay in a nearby lot. Come for the views and seafood.

Beautiful decoration and delicious food with the view of the Bay Bridge. Has the shrimp, scallops and bread pudding for dessert and it was all delicious. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive. A little on the pricey side if that’s what you’re looking for. Would def come back here again. Oh and delicious oysters!

Waterbar restaurant lived up to all expectations. The service was very on point and food extremely artfully presented. Fresh ingredients were hand crafted into creative dishes. Management was clearly visible on the floor and attentive. The setting is world class and the interior and exterior space is impeccably designed. Anybody searching out fresh seafood and shellfish would certainly not be disappointed with a visit to Waterbar.

Dinner last night was wonderful, from the venue itself through the wonderful food and impeccable service. Highly recommend. This is not a place that hangs its hat on its location. They have an incredible restaurant! The Halibut and Black Cod were delicious and wonderfully plated with great accompaniments.

We had a fantastic experience here. From the moment we walked in, the staff was extremely kind and attentive. They cracked jokes with us, and were a big part of the experience in my opinion The food was incredible and definitely something new for us. We ordered the crispy sweet bread which was phenomenal. Our server spent time describing the texture of a few of the different dishes, and really made me feel like he was happy to do it. I struggle with some textures when it comes to food, so I really appreciated this. Overall a bit pricey, but absolutely worth it. This was the perfect place to celebrate a birthday. I'm looking forward to going back!

Loved the ambience, close to the waters, and not too noisy. We went there for Lunch. Especially tried the Oysters for the first time and surprisingly, loved them. So I believe that’s how am gonna remember this restaurant 😃. Their service is also very professional and friendly with recommendations on food and drinks.

This place was recommended to me while at the farmer's market. It was a total home run. Great place for Vegans, bar tender qas on point. This place is oozing ambiance, food oozes flavor and staff is attentive, professional and friendly. Outdoor seating available beautiful views of the Bay Bridge. Parking available at nearby garage 12$.

Had a great dinner date with the better half. Reserved an inside table, but was a little bit disappointed that we didn't get to sit next to the cool aquariums. All was forgiven when we had the food, though! Started with scrumptious lobster bisque with a side of warm bread. The bisque had generous hunks of lobster and was topped with a creme fraiche that helped to mellow out the shellfish flavor. It was a tad strong on salt but that just made it go well with the sourdough bread. Next was a scallop dish. Blast of flavor from the bacon (?) bits, finished with a slightly acidic sauce to bring the mouthful to a completion. Served with tiny carrots which helped provide additional texture and some sweetness. Our main was the oak fired shellfish fettucine for two. It was quite a generous serving of fresh, sustainably farmed shellfish, which was nice (I appreciated the shrimp in particular), but the hero of the dish truly was the pasta. An immaculate sauce on glutinous fettucine.... topped with chives (I think?) which really rounded out the flavor with a punch of freshness that made us go through the plate like a tornado through Kansas. It was a big portion but I'm pretty sure I could have eaten another bowl of the pasta. Despite the business of a Christmas season dinner, the servers were friendly and attentive -- quick to help with water, cleaning crumbs from the table, or providing clean silverware between dishes. All in all, Waterbar was a great experience that I'd like to repeat in the future.

What a fantastic place for a romantic dinner! We visited for our anniversary and their attention to detail, service and the food were all outstanding! Jameson and the entire team of five people did a great job! Everyone from the greeters on wished us a happy anniversary. The seared scallops app was to die for and the selections of wines were as expected, outstanding! Afterwards, a walk along the water with stunning views of the bridge. Highly recommended! We will definitely be back. Thanks all for a remarkable experience! Enjoy! 🤙🏻

Great vibe and service! Superb view of the bay. Food is good - the tuna and sole were bland though. Daily oyster special is a great deal!

Fabulous ambience, great food and awesome service.. had the coffee crusted salmon as an entree and roasted cauliflower with blue cheese as a side. Also, enjoyed the negroni here. Service was impeccable and the water front views made the atmosphere very enjoyable too. Would definitely like to visit again

Went there for dinner and the seafood was superb. The menu is rotational so you won't know what is on for each day. Atmosphere is very nice and service quality good. Recommend going on a more quiet evening like Sunday to fully sink into the Atmosphere.

We had a great experience on a birthday dinner at Waterbar. The service is excellent, the food cooked to near perfection, and the wine & liquor choices extravagant. What tops the whole thing off is the location - you get beautiful views of Bay Bridge from almost every table. Sit outside for the best view!

Amazing views , excellent service and top notch seafood. Their menu changed a bit , so I don’t remember the name of the entree seafood pictured here, but it was luscious. We ordered the toffee pudding for the dessert. Wide variety of fascinating Cocktails. Bit expensive but would definitely come here again for an occasional lunch/dinner

The happy hour here is amazing. The oysters were so good and only $1.55 during happy hour. I also had an amazing and delicious aperol spritz. Plus the views cannot be beaten and there is so much to explore in the same area as the restaurant. The fries were basic, but crispy and good. Plus the portion was super generous. The only negative was that our server was very dismissive. It felt like he couldn’t give us the time of day. However, I watched how he treated other tables and it was very different from the way he treated us. I’m not sure what the difference was with us, but I felt it throughout the meal.

Make reservations…you might get lucky and find a seat at the bar, but to really make sure you get seats, I advise you make reservations. The view of the bay bridge it’s nice. The bartenders are friendly, drinks consistent, and the food it’s delicious. On weekends they have fresh oysters for $1.05 each. The lobster roll it’s so good, everything just right. No complaints about this place, would definitely come back. Prices on the average.
