First time trying out a vegan restaurant and was pleasantly surprised with the food here. We ordered the Avocado Rolls, Lemongrass Deluxe (with "chicken") and Spicy Vegan "Shrimp". The food was very flavorful and the "meats" were very similar to the actual meats than I would have ever expected. I have never tried a vegan variation of chicken or shrimp before so this was a great introduction. Would definitely recommend for others to try. The staff was also very accommodating. The restaurant does check for vaccination upon entry.

A delightful experience! I’m visiting SF for a few days, and I ordered Golden Era for takeout last night. I ordered the spring rolls and the fried rice. Both dishes were tasty, and I appreciated that the portion sizes allowed me to have both dinner and lunch from a single order. I also love the concept of a fully vegan Chinese restaurant. We don’t have anything like it in Minneapolis, and it’s an excellent idea. I would definitely try more items on their menu if I were in town longer.

Wow! Best Vegan Chinese food yet. Just like a top notch american Chinese restaurant but veganized. Perfect balanced flavors in all dishes, wonderful textures, and service! Will be back!

I'm not sure what to think of the dish bird's nest, it feels like you eat uncooked instant noodle soup noodles. Definitely the sauce helps to soften it and the taste after is nice but it should be way more of it on the plate. I really loved the veggie and mushrooms but the noodles was tough to eat, especially when the waitress was constantly watching me choking up my meal like if they were closing and he waited for me. I understand that it could be ment in a good way but I haven't felt like it is the case. I'll come next time because the taste was really nice and I don't want to give up on this restaurant. Prices are reasonable, menu is large and all vegan!

The curry okra, miso kale and the sour and spicy soup are really delicious! Heard that their avocado smoothie is also good too. Will come back again to try more dishes!

I HIGHLY recommend trying golden era even if you're not vegan or vegetarian. The food and drinks are always so fresh and flavorful and I haven't tried a dish I haven't loved. The inside is very clean, has a bathroom, and tons of tables, so it's a good place for larger groups (it's not super busy usually but call to make reservation just in case for groups over 5) It's hard for me not to write down almost everything on their menu as a recommendation but here are some dishes you can't go wrong with: -Mamas clay pot (organic tofu, eggplant, and soy fish with house special sauce) I usually order this along with spicy Thai fried rice or Indian fried rice which are both amazing and pair well with the curry -Lemon grass deluxe and drumsticks -Asian wraps, the paratha is so buttery and these wraps make a perfect meal for lunch -iced Vietnamese coffee -iced mango smoothie

The dishes that I tried were phenomenally filled with flavor, jam packed. The rice, hands down, has been the best I’ve tasted thus far as vegan and before I embarked this journey. No 2nd thoughts, I’d visit San Fran just to try them again. Gave it 4 because the Mongolian was a tad bit salty for me. Everything still was good from texture to taste. Satisfied and exquisitely delightful. Golden Era is worth it & brings a signature stamp to evolving vegan.

I enjoyed this lovely sit down vegan Chinese spot! I've never had vegan ban xeo before, and the one here was delicious! Can't recommend the mango sticky rice enough, it's so good 😭 Be sure to order a side of rice, some dishes didn't come with it (like the orange chicken)

This place was delicious, the service was good and the atmosphere was nice. Their menu is entirely vegan and it was hard to choose among so many good options. Definitely recommend!

In the embrace of a welcoming restaurant, I savored the delectable Mongolian delight to go. While the drumsticks arrived lukewarm, their flavor danced with delightful balance. The sugarcane bone, akin to a savory-sweet hard candy bubblegum lollipop, proved a surprising treat. A culinary adventure rich in flavor, where every detail invites exploration and delight.

The exterior obscures what's inside! The restaurant is very bright and airy, exactly what you want out of a vegan restaurant. And the food was delicious. The Pad Thai was a little heavy on the lemongrass for my taste, but my husband thought it was excellent. And the Eggplant and Mushroom was rich and savory. We'd definitely come again to see what else the menu has to offer

the food was great! But I was very annoyed by the service - twice during my one-time visit to the restroom, they banged on the door. I opened it once and they said I just locked the door wrong. It was strange because they couldn't get in, so the door was locked effectively. I closed the door and wanted to do my business in peace. Not even a minute passed before they started tugging at the doorknob again. I was disgusted by this and very upset. Luckily the food is great. If you have a small European stomach, you can just order one meal for two.

So happy to find an all vegan asian restaurant. After reading reviews, I had to try the lemongrass chicken. It was very flavorful and the texture was great. It comes on a bed of broccoli with lettuce underneath. I have mixed feelings about that — I’m a junk food vegan and probably would have preferred rice instead. I did order rice on the side which felt necessary.

This restaurant is nice and clean, very spacious and nice decor. The service is excellent and the food is yummy with a lot of variety. They have Chinese, Vietnamese and thai foods. The food is plates beautifully, and it came quickly as well. I highly recommend this restaurant!

No frills, just delicious food. Hand down must get the fried rice noodles. They are the flat noodles but they fry it in such a way that it’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. So good!!!! The Vietnamese crepe is also a huge winner. Very delicious with lettuce and mint. The trumpet curry mushrooms were also unbelievably tasty and fresh!

Our first time trying this place and it was a 10/10 experience. We're not vegan but this was a game changer for us. Super clean, friendly, delicious and great price. Highly recommend. We ate the Pad Thai and Potato Curry.

The best Asian vegan food I had so far. I ordered spring rolls and spinach tofu soup and everything was fresh and flavorful. It seems that they use great ingredients. The dishes were also light and healthy, the service was great too. I would eat here very often if I lived in SF!

Loved the food. The Fu Yong fried patty appetizer was amazing. The clay pot was also really good. We tried the spring roll, pho and Vietnamese crepe and they were all good.

Ordered the spicy noodle soup to go, requested extra spicy. The portion was HUGE - it can extend to two separate meals. I’d definitely be back for a dine in experience next time I’m in the area!

So we went on a Black Friday (11/24/23) around 6 pm and expected it to be dead, seeing it was the day after Thanksgiving. Turned out there were some patrons when we arrived and the place was about 60% full when we left. Food is served "Asian style" meaning they bring it out when it is done rather than all at once. Although I was the only vegan in the party of 4, everyone enjoyed the food. They served the food relatively quickly and the restrooms were fairly clean too. The price was decent considering it was SF and close to the theaters.

Fantastic vegan food. Very tasty and very large portions. We ordered a ton of food but we're so excited about it we forgot to take pics! I highly recommend the veggie steamed buns, the pad Thai, the crispy sea patty was amazing! Tasted like nori. The crispy cauliflower was so good and spicy. Highly recommend.

The Spicy Kung Pao has the best fake meat (soy protein) I ate in my whole life. The House Rice Claypot was amazing too. A nice ginger touch and I love the burnt rice touch as well.

The food here is very good. The Hot Spicy Sweet n’ Sour Soup was phenomenal. The vegan shrimp was some of the best vegan food I’ve ever had. Drinks wise, the peach lemonade and strawberry lemonade are very nice. The overall aesthetic of this restaurant is very humble and calm. The staff are very nice and make every effort to make your experience as nice as it can be. Definitely going to come back!

The food is delicious! I love the Pho. My son loves adding the vegan beef to his order. And we can't get enough of the Miso Kale. I really enjoy topping off my meal with their peach lemonade. Everything I've tried has been really yummy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. 5 stars.

Such quick service! I got the pad Thai and my friend got the fried rice- they were able to make that gluten free. I also got a delicious jasmine green milk tea- the perfect amount of caffeine!

this place was absolutely delicious! i got the banh xeo and two slices of cheesecake on my way out. the cake was pricey, in my opinion, for such small slices, but vegan cheesecake is hard to find, so well worth it! the banh xeo (crepe) had imitation shrimp, which was not listed in the ingredients. not a big deal but i would recommend adding that on the menu! it had me worried for a minute bc i thought it might be real (had to double check my phone to be sure this was a vegan restaurant, not just vegetarian) 😅 best of all, the service was very attentive. when you're eating alone, let's face it, you often get ignored (no shade - servers know they aren't making much money off you, i get it). but the employees here were not at all like that; they checked on me multiple times & were very helpful. thank you!

The hype is real, family. One of the best meals I’ve ever eaten thus far in my life. I got the lemon grass deluxe && the mango sticky rice. I have about 15 more hours left in SF && ima go back before I leave to try the orange “chicken” && I’ll prolly get the mango sticky rice again🤤. UPDATE: went back for the orange chicken && it’s good, but I definitely recommend the lemon grass deluxe. && I got the mango sticky rice again. Still delicious!! I will say that I paid 2$ for broccoli on the side && only got literally like 3 pieces of broccoli so that’s a lil absurd, but it’s whatever lol. God bless y’all & enjoy the food🤍.

I don’t know how genuinely “healthy” or clean the food is or the nurtritional value. With that aside, my meal was done in like 7 minutes and was super delicious. I thought it wasn’t going to be enough but it was filling. I got their most popular dish- the lemongrass “chicken” Comes with actually flavorful steamed broccoli which was a cool change and a little salad and this cup of clear sauce. I couldn’t put my finger on what it was but it really brought everything together. Everything was juicy. haha I don’t usually eat imitation meats but this was delicious. Every bite had flavor. Like I said, even the broccoli which normally is left plain when I get it elsewhere. It was like fifteen dollars after tax and before tipping. Worth it. Wish I had taken a picture for ya ❤️

Rude staff, manager told me to leave before I could even tell their coworker what I’d like to order. Didn’t give an explanation to why they refused serving me, there was an initial sense of disrespect from the manager signaling that what I was doing wasn’t good. If coming into a restaurant with the intention of ordering something is not ok then we have a problem. I was completely respectful when asking if they are able to do to go orders and the other employee attempted to help me till the manager stepped in to make it personal. She went on to serve the next person after me and just ignored me till I asked to speak to a manager

Excellent tasting vegan food. I had the pot stickers and Quinoa salad, both tasted wonderful. The pot stickers are fried though, if you're looking for pan roasted. But they tasted very good. The service is fast and friendly. Once you're inside the restaurant provides a nicely decorated space. The street being close to the center of the town is not so great. There is a parking garage around the corner and it is just a few yards away.

This was the BEST vegan food I’ve had here in SFO as far as anywhere near the Union Square area, or even in general to be honest. I’m not even vegan! We had the vermicelli and the lemongrass spicy “chicken”. Absolutely must try and worth the walk, even through Tenderloin. 100% worth it.

So impressed with Golden Era! I ordered the House Rice Claypot and was blown away by the intense flavors without being too heavy or over-seasoned. I’m excited to go back and try something else.

Honestly every dish I’ve tried here is amazing, authentic and made with such care - you can tell they make most things in house from scratch. The Saigon rice plate is a favorite and goes so well with the sweet and sour soup, all Vietnamese staples I grew up with but veganized ❤️👏 The lemongrass delight is also a new favorite - it’s marinated and stir fried, so much tastier than I expected The variety of options and the consistently delicious dishes makes this place a true gem in the City! My non-vegetarian friends love it too
