Good food, very nice and friendly service employees and management. Was a great place to go after the SF Giants game. Also close to the Brennan parking lots. The burger was the best! Bread pudding for dessert is a great finish. The bartender was fun to watch while he was making drinks. Such a happy guy!

The brunch menu is short but they get it right. The food was spot on, and was delicious. Even the side salad is massaged to perfection in its dressing. Highly recommend this place and my true favorite from now on!

So happy to see this open again. All the food is delicious. Loved the pork chop and obviously the famous Marlowe burger. The gougeres with prosciutto are a great appetiser to share

Good food, decent service and pleasant ambience. The steak was tender and the right temperature, the burger was juicy but not soggy and the fries were well done and crunchy (we asked for well done). The only thing that didn't make the cut was the paring Bordeaux. I may visit again but it didn't leave a lasting taste.

2022 review: We were highly anticipating the reopening of Marlowe. It is one of our favorite restaurants nearby. We arrived on a Friday around 6 for 2 without reservations and they were able to seat us. By 7, the restaurant was quite full. The service was excellent and we noticed a few new items on the menu. My husband went with his favorite - the pork chop. I was hoping for the salmon but they had a smoked black cod on a mash with kale and chili mussels which was absolutely scrumptious and plate licking worthy. The black cod was beautiful cooked with a crispy top and melt in your mouth interior. I would definitely get this again. The pork chop was delicious, as always. The dessert option was just a chocolate peanut square which was rich and tasty but not something I would get again. I really hope they bring back their version of a chocolate mousse - now that was dream worthy. - One star is still off because the music is still out the place, too loud. It is so loud that my husband and I had to lean almost forehead to forehead across the table to hear one another. Others did the same or they made the small venue even louder by trying to speak over the music - I'm not sure what is more obnoxious. I really wish this could be a relaxing and delicious meal but despite the food and service being on point, the noise level is all too stimulating after a long day / week of working. - if you are up for the noise, go enjoy some mouth watering deviled eggs and smoked cod plus a cocktail! Original review pre-pandemic: The ingredients, flavors, and service are excellent. We arrived around 1pm on a Saturday and there was no wait for 2 but the restaurant was very busy. We were able to relax and did not feel rushed.

Stumbled across Marlowe for a Sunday brunch. So glad we did! The deviled eggs. YOU MUST GET THEM. They were so incredibly good. I would come back and just order a bunch of these and be absolutely happy. The BBQ pork cheek sandwich was just okay in my opinion. While all of the flavors and textures worked well together, the unrendered pork fat was just a bit much for me. The fries and aioli were cooked great though. Super friendly service. Check them out if you’re looking for a solid brunch option.

I had dinner with two girlfriends at Marlowe the other night and we had a great experience. My only complaint is that it’s pretty loud so we had to speak up and lean in to hear each other. Jorge was our sever and he was delightful. We met the chef/owner and we were thrilled it was a woman. She sent us some extra goodies for dessert which made for an even more amazing experience. We shared the scallops which were delicious, the broccolini which might have been our favorite dish, the crudo, and the burger. We didn’t realize there was horseradish on the burger which wasn’t what we were looking for but we assume we didn’t look closely at the description. We enjoyed the chocolate cake and Lorettas’s dessert (my favorite because it tasted like the old Chart House’s mud pie) and the fudge bites. I highly recommend dining here and checking out the sister restaurant Cavalier in Hotel Zetta.

We dined here tonight for the first time and we really enjoyed our menu choices. We started with cocktails. Hubby ordered an old fashioned and I ordered the desert rose. Both very good. We both elected to order the Marlowe burger and Bordeaux. The burger was delicious and cooked to order and we really enjoyed the horseradish aioli. The fries were great and the Bordeaux was nicely paired with the burger. The only constructive feedback I would offer on the burger is perhaps choose to substitute the shredded lettuce for arugula to elevate the burger and compliment the sauce. The server was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was moderately noisy, but not so much as to negatively impact the experience. Overall, good experience and we will return again.

10/01/2022: Stumbled upon this restaurant on our walk to Oracle Park. We had time to kill before the game so we went in for brunch. We didn't have reservations, but they seated us right away. The food was outstanding! Hubby had the crispy polenta with poached eggs. I had the chorizo scramble. Both dishes were beautifully done! I look forward to returning!

Busy and popular place with good meat options, steak, and juicy burgers with fries. Sadly, vegetarian options are an afterthought and vegan food options don't exist. The "Little Gem Lettuce" salad is a mess - two lettuce leaves drowned in shaved veggies and an unpleasant dressing. Simpler would be better. Also, that's not really a meal alternative for people who don't eat meat. Sadly, the Brussels sprouts couldn't be prepared without butter. The wait staff was friendly enough but not able to accommodate any requests like for a vegan meal. This place is way (!) too loud. Possibly fun for a happy hour drink with meat eaters but not recommended for having a conversation unless you enjoy yelling and lip-reading.

Marlowe had a nice ambiance and visually appealing menu. However, the focus on aesthetics seemed to overshadow taste. The serving sizes were small, and the flavors were often dull. Additionally, the prices were high, and there were limited non-spicy options. Individual dishes like the warm deviled egg had lingering spiciness despite requesting no jalapeno. The French toast soldiers tasted great but had a small serving size. The lemon and ricotta doughnuts lacked flavor and felt more like dough balls. Overall, it was an alright experience, but I'm not sure if I'll return here.

I been here for dinner and it was amazing. Decides to try their breakfast and it was good but not as good as their dinner. The staff is really nice and friendly and the ambience is chill. They also have a very good selection of brunch drinks.

Overall great experience. Food was tasty and service was excellent. Cocktails perfect too! Ordered the caeser salad, Brussels chips, bone marrow, scallops, and octopus

Great ambience and good food. Get the burger, don’t get the sole. Also try for brunch, not dinner. For the price and hype I expected more in taste, hence the 4 stars. Good for a date but there’s better options out there (e.g., Foreign Cinema). Attire smart casual.

This review is solely for lunch. Never had dinner here so I can’t really say anything about it. I’ve been here twice for team lunch. I would say food is just ok. For the appetizers, we got the crispy Brussels sprouts (10/10) and the warm deviled eggs for sharing . For the entrée, I got the crispy chicken sandwich and I’ve had better. I’ve gotten this the first time too, but this time, the chicken seems to be less in terms of meat. It’s mostly breading. It’s dry too. The fries were good though. It’s crispy and well done. My colleague who got the chicken sandwich has the same sentiment. My other colleague who got the burger said that the patty is thinner than it used to be. Hopefully, this won’t be the case all the time. The decor is nice though, but there is so much echo. We’re a team of 6 and all I can hear is the person in front of me and beside me. The severs are very attentive, but the service is a bit slow. The entrées (all sandwiches) took more than thirty minutes to arrive, but we had a bit of appetizers ordered prior. If you’re not ordering appetizers, just prep yourself about the wait.

Love the vibe and atmosphere of this place. Food was delicious but not wow. Overall had great ingredients, flavors, and good crearivity to traditional items. The staff was excellent and hospitable. Would visit again to try their other items and dinner. We went for brunch: Oysters were fresh and delicious Gulf shrimp was definitely a favorite with a spicy mezcal drip. Deviled egg was a little salty. Burger was delicious and cooked perfectly, the bun was ok. Baked eggs was delicious with kale and broccoli 🥦 but was a little cheesey/creamy and the eggs were over cooked.

Good spot for brunch. The portion size has shrunk ( understandable in this economy).Friendly service

Visited for lunch. Inside is modern, cute, bright, nice brunch spot. Octopus salad is their popular menu, a little salty for me. Burger was flavorful, recommend!

This was a great place to go to for brunch prior to a Giants game. They also have great parking so if you’re able to walk 10 minutes to the ballpark then that’s great too. I liked the buttermilk pancakes but was not a fan of the syrup. It was better with the French toast soldier sauces. The summer scramble was pleasant. The cocktails were beautiful.

Ordered the oysters, mussel toast, bone marrow, steak frites and a handful of cocktails/beers for the table. So glad to see this neighborhood institution back in business- just as good as I remember. Will be back for the burger.

Their burger really deserves the reputation it has! Perfect texture, done just right (medium) with pink in the center, well seasoned and just so flavorful in the mouth. Frittata with shrimp also very good. All in all, great spot and reasonable prices. A little off the beaten path location which makes it even better with easy parking and less hassle.

The food was pretty good, but didn't really live up to the price. I ordered the cod, one of the more expensive items on the menu. I believe it must have sat under the heat lamp while my guests meal was being prepared, because the fish was overcooked. The cocktails were good. Brussel sprout chips were good. Be aware a 7 percent "SF Mandate" is not included in the menu prices. It does appear in fine print, sideways, on the menu. I understand why they do this, but I'm very much against this practice.

Really can't recommend this place because of what they deem is acceptable to serve as a plate. Our table ordered the bone marrow and there wasn't even enough bone marrow to spread on half a slice of toast. It was pretty pathetic they even served that to us. The food is heavy on the salt. Polenta was very good. Ambiance is nice but Crowd is touristy bc it's so close to the baseball stadiums. The steak and fries weren't good either according to my cousin. We told the waitress there was barely anything in the bone marrow and nothing. During the pandemic I didn't want to write any bad reviews so I just wouldn't write a review if I didn't like the place, but this place was so bad that people need to be informed. Will definitely not be returning

They did take reservations, which was a plus as it gets really busy during meal hours. I ordered the Marlowe burger both times I came here - super high quality, juicy meat. Definitely recommend - it's one of their most popular items.
