The samosas are fabulous. Malai kofta is super tasty. Fast service. We sat outside with our dogs and niece in her stroller.

Beautiful ambience, loved the rose on tables♥️🫶service 💯 and food quality was good. We went a bit early for lunch as we were so hungry from sightseeing. We ordered chicken tikka kebab, chicken biryani, chicken coconut curry 🍛 Loved it💯♥️ Even gulab jamun was fresh and delicious 💜 Would recommend this restaurant in San Fransisco. One of the good Indian restaurants in SF

We were looking for a nice restaurant with a good vibe in san francisco but most of the restaurant is closing at 9:30 pm/ 10 pm. But gladly we found India Clay Oven. They are open till 11 pm. The food is authentic indian taste! I love the chicken biryani and the food is full of flavor. Little bit spicy for me but My craving for Indian dish is fully satisfied. Lamb biryani is also good and my husband enjoyed his Tikka Masala. They gave us complimentary dessert as well. We will definitely come back here, people are nice, foods are nice, plus the ambiance… totally clean and cozy! We found a gem in this late night dinner. 100 star for me.. ❤️

We happened upon this restaurant by chance and it was great. The deep fried eggplant pakoras were incredible. The spices were very abundant so I would suggest mild if you aren't used to eating spicy. The ice cream was a most interesting and rich coconut filled delight. The service was the best I've ever had. Such an attentive waiter. I truly felt as if they were pleased to be there. They even gave us an extra dessert and extra food. Wow, I've never had that happen before. One thing I noticed was that they were meat heavy dishes with low vegetables. You might want to discuss with them what they have that has more vegetables. Also the menu seemed extensive, so lots to choose from.

AMAZING. One of my favorite restaurants in the entire city. It’s always delicious. The service is top tier, attentive and kind. Never have to wait for a table, great for groups. Happy hour on beer. Affordable prices. Nice fancy tables with roses, glasses and cloth napkins. Beautiful dinning room with large windows. Yummy yummy yummy!

I had the pleasure of dining at Clay oven on Clement Street earlier this week with a good friend of mine. We weren’t sure what we were in the mood for, but it looked cozy and inviting so we went inside. Right away, we were greeted warmly, and made to feel very comfortable. We ended up ordering the coursed out dinner for two which included two types of chicken and a couple of veggie dishes, some naan and some starters. It was so plentiful and fresh and flavorful. We couldn’t believe the feast and at such an incredible price. We also ordered wine which can be hit or miss at many restaurants, but the Cabernet Sauvignon was delicious. The service was terrific and we were made to feel like royalty. I have to say the warm donut holes for dessert were out of this world. I’ll be going back soon!

The food is amazing at Clay Oven. I’ve been going to the one in San Mateo for years. First time I’ve been to this one and the food is very good. My rating is because the waiter was not very friendly but that’s not either. He smooshed a bug with his finger on my plate and left the plate expecting me to eat off of it. I’m like no. His uniform looked like it has not been cleaned in a couple of weeks. Old caked on food stains from his arms, body and all over his pants. It made me it not appetizing for me. I’ve never had that experience at the San Mateo location.

Beautiful and peaceful Indian restaurant in our Richmond district on very busy Clement street. The food is delicious, various and fresh one! Prices are the best in the city , very comparable with other restaurants on this locations . Staff are very friendly , in a minute you feel that came like in your fancy house ! Relaxed and romantic atmosphere inside with not loud modern Indian music ...and more ... as free desert in a gift of the end of your amazing dinner or lunch . Highly recommended for anyone!!! Please come, share and enjoy !

We came to Clay Oven for dinner with my parents and brothers from out of town. We ordered a biryani, naan, and a variety of curries. All of them were quite good. Multiple members of our party said it was the best Indian food they’d ever had. The atmosphere was very quiet with nice big windows. Would probably be great for a intimate date night when there isn’t a big, loud crew like ours rolling through. A must try for Indian food in The Richmond.

Excellent food and very friendly staff. Will support and recommend. The restaurant inside is also nice and usually not over crowded. Hope these guys stick around, you can tell the owner and employees care.

A great place in an unassuming location. I had samosa, lamb vindaloo, garlic naan and draft Kingfisher beer - everything was very good! They brought gulab jamun at the end of the meal - fresh, warm and savory. They packed the leftovers themselves and put them into a bag. The music was a bit loud, an interesting mix of Indian hip-hop, Indian balearic, and Indian dubstep - at least it was not something traditional.

We stopped in looking to eat just a small amount of food. It was very good and service was also much better than expected. We ended up order more than we originally planned! I would definitely recommend.

The Samosa was fresh and delicious. But the rest dishes were below average. The keema naan didn’t have much keema at all. Onion Pakora was very bad and tasted only like turmeric. I am highly rating it for the ambiance and service.

Authentic Indian food... Just the right spice and proportion. My wife and I love the the atmosphere and the service is excellent. We eat there often, and our favorite server, Gautaiu , is there always to greet us with a smile. : )

The host/server was very friendly as well as quick and attentive. The food was perfectly seasoned and just the right amount of heat( I got my food medium heat). I will definitely be coming back it's absolutely become one of my go to spots in the neighborhood.
