Tried idly and so many other South Indian foods that I have never had! Amazing, and definitely recommend 11/10

A neighborhoodn gem, offering a delightful array of authentic South Indian dishes. The ambiance is cozy, making it an ideal spot for a satisfying meal. Our waiter was incredibly helpful and friendly. We initially planned to order 3+ dishes for the two of us, but he wisely advised us to start with a dish per person due to their generous portion sizes. He was spot-on! We ended up being pleasantly full with just one dish each. Not only was the food delicious, but it also arrived promptly, which was a bonus. The quick service allowed us to enjoy our meal without any unnecessary waiting.

Great and authentic South Indian food. This is our second time visiting this place and we loved the food except filter coffee, to be honest it was pathetic, it’s no way near the authentic filter coffee. However, dosas are simply amazing, the flavors of different chutneys provided were amazing and the sambhar was quality, I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re looking to try authentic South Indian food in San Francisco.

It was a wonderful experience trying South Indian food in San Francisco. The taste was good and was as per my expectations. The masala chaye was legitimate.

I’ve heard lots of good things about this place! I gave it a try on one Saturday evening. The food was good.. especially recommend the fried idly and bisibellebath .. Paneer burji dosa , house curry dosa and puri Koorma were good too.. Filter coffee is something most people look forward to in South Indian restaurants but the coffee was a little disappointing. Also, there is 4% charge for credit and debit payments which we weren’t aware of.. so having some cash handy might be a good idea.

Udupi Palace is one of the "rare" South Indian Vegetarian restaurant in SF -- and the food here is pretty good. But they could *really* improve on the service offered here. We went in pretty late (around 3 pm or so), and they had no restrictions for offering South Indian Thali/Meals at that time. Pretty much everything on the menu was available. And the taste was pretty good too. I loved their poori and channa. They offer *very* little rice though (and it's a limited thali). We could barely eat a single curry with the amount of rice offered... The waiters taking orders were barely able to speak English and had very little knowledge about the menu, items offered, etc. And they were also somewhat rude to be honest. Even though service and ambience can vastly improve, Udupi Palace is worth it for the food!

Great food and great service! Tiny place but very good for vegetarian Indian options in the city and great value for money. We ordered 2 dosa combos and that was enough for 4 of us.

Great veg restaurant in San Francisco. This is one of the madras style Indian cuisine . Traditional Tamil food . Highly recommended. Beautiful atmosphere.

Did not appreciate getting crumbs at the bottom of my pakora. Though quite tasty, much was wasted burnt and broken pieces. I rather wait a little longer for it to be prepared correctly, than the 5 minutes or less to get me out the 🚪. The samosa held up well. Just because an order is takeout does not mean skimping on the overall quality of cuisine. Off to explore another Indian joint.

Excellent place to get South Indian food in SF. They are a vegetarian restaurant & have a lot of items on the menu. We ordered a Paper Dosa, a Mysore Dosa, a Rava Masala Dosa, and Onion Chilli Uthappam and all of them were great. Will definitely come back to eat here again.

Tiny South Indian place in Valencia (SF). The fried idli is not to be missed, it was simply outstanding. We also ordered the uthappam and house curry dosa. I’d highly recommend against—I’ve had better uthappams/dosas elsewhere.

Have been to this place multiple times. The last experience was not the best. The food was served colder than usual. Other than that, everything went well. Small place. Mostly a quick eatery. Some of the best Indian dishes are served. The masala dosa was good as always. The mini thali was delicious. Not a huge fan of wheat batura. The regular one was great.

Love the ambience and the authentic tastes from Karnataka. Had just picked a place based on reviews and was not disappointed at all. The portion size and quality are great too and not too spicy on the palette! Adding to it, the menu options are strictly Indian vegetarian.

Everything we tried is delicious + Idli wada. Super soft idli and very crispy wada. Coconut chutney very good. + Good Thali - tables too close to each other

5⭐️ all across!! Pure veg restaurant. It was so amazing that my family and I ate there twice in 3 days while we were visiting SFO. Staff is super polite, doesn’t take too long to deliver your order to the table, and you might have a slight wait if you visit during peak hours. Food was super tasty and the thali is the best way to go if you’re quite hungry and you get a variety of various curries, sabji (mixed veggies), papad, poori, rice, raita and a dessert; all for $16. Their lassi is also tasty. Get the mango kind if you’re into that

So good. Best south Indian dosa and uttapam in the city. Come here instead of some trendy place on Valencia St. I recommend the onion chili uttapam, if you are looking for a tasty recommendation. Eat what is good here, ie south Indian. Everything else is not as good.

Dosas are fantastic, would recommend paper dosa so the filling doesn't make the dosa wet. Filling is on the salty side, but otherwise tastes great

Jacky Flavor Review: 6/10 🍲 Rasam Wada felt like tomato soup with no flavor Ghee Roast Dosa didn't have ghee and any powder flavor Spicy Chettinad Uttapam was pretty average and had cauliflower on it, why? Filter Coffee was not great either Only good thing was Fried Idli which got me to 6/10

Excellent southindian food for the price! Everything we ordered were too good 👌🏽 Veg Pakora, Pongal, Mysore Masala Dosa and Coffee ☕️

Great place for South Indian comfort food. Get the Thali if you are hungry or the Udupi Combo with Dosa of your choice and idly vada or as I did two vada if you are not that hungry and you won't go wrong. Finding parking is the only nightmare but that is not the restaurant's fault - Valencia is a trendy place and gets very crowded.
