I want to start by saying the host and our waiter were awesome. Don't get your hopes up about this place. Came here for my birthday and was disappointed to say the least. For starters it was loud, like louder than a restaurant should be and for the prices you pay to eat and be here it shouldn't be that loud. Secondly the food itself wasn't memorable at all. I can't even remember what I ate, I just know I took the pictures and wanted to be done with the whole experience. Oh and don't get the calamari, it tasted like chicken tenders for some reason. The reviews for this place are pretty up there but I guess a lot of people that go here probably don't eat out a lot or think expensive food tastes better (which it doesn't). If you do decide for some reason to come here and want the food to be more palatable get the San Francisco Rum based drink. That was the best thing I had here and tasted great. The price you pay for everything here is not worth it and thankfully I was able to have a redo and simply made a far better dish at home that actually had flavor.

I loved the sea food and the clam chowder was to die for! I would go back again just for the chowder. We arrived around 5PM on a Friday night for the two of us and we got right in. However I noticed that before we got in there was a line, and then as we left the line was out the door. So check the day and time so you can avoid the rush. Google maps was pretty accurate with that. We got the salmon with chowder, and a side of lobster tail. The lobster tail was overcooked and that was very disappointing. That is the only reason why it gets four stars. My wife loved the seasoned salmon that came with the veggies and fries.

This place was recommended to us and we loved it! We started with drinks and an appetizer. My jalapeno margarita was excellent and the calamari was the best I've ever had. My friend enjoyed the oysters. I got the crab cakes for my meal and they were good but I believe I've been spoiled in Baltimore. My friend also enjoyed her triple shrimp dish. We ate outside and enjoyed the sun and people watching. I definitely recommend!

Food terrific. It’s a pretty touristy area and it feels like it might not be so great because of that but the food was excellent!! Perhaps the best calamari I’ve had. The garlic bread was huge and tasty. Crab, excellent!! The sweet and sour sauce with the calamari was also really good. Staff was friendly and the restaurant is quite large. Nice views of the ocean and a good menu selection. There is a patio and indoor seating with huge windows so it has a really great vibe. Highly recommend!!

This place is really great, was seated right away next to the window w a clear view of the sea lions on the docks. We ordered crab cakes and the clamps chowder as apps. Both were to die for. We finished off out meal w the jambalaya and again were not disappointed. Service was great, fresh taste, highly recommend.

What a great restaurant! The waiter was really polite and patient gentleman, service was fast and well taken care of. The food was so fresh and tasty, and it came really fast, considering it was a lunchtime . Prices are very reasonable. Great choice of fresh seafood and other dishes. I would definitely recommend you try this place, and I would come and eat here again!

Came here randomly on a Sunday afternoon with some friends and we were seated right away with a great view of the bay! The service was quick, and the food was delicious. We had the lobster tails, crab cakes and fish and chips, all were cooked well and flavorful!

EXCELLENT! Our reservation at first was cancelled for some unknown reason BUT upon explaining to the hostess what had happened, she agreed to seat us on the next available table which was 💯 for their service. For such a busy restaurant, the waiters and waitresses were extra attentive and welcoming. They even allowed me to take shots of their BUSY kitchen. As soon as we arrived at the tables, Menu’s were handed out and water was served. For such a busy restaurant, I have to applaud how they got the food out of the kitchen IN LESS THAN 10 MINUTES. Extremely hot and fresh. Crab Cake was EXQUISITE. Sourdough lacked salt but of course, add to taste. Clam Chowder in Sourdough Bread-bowl? It filled the soul. Their Linguine on the other hand, it was simply perfect. NOT ONE DROP LEFT. Pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was perfect. Every bite was filled with flavour. The Dungeoness Crab was cooked really well, I was expecting to dip it in some sauce but even the meat on the legs had flavor by itself. I can’t give enough compliments for this restaurant. I HIGHLY recommend.

Food was pretty good, although the oysters were quite small. I had the linguine pasta which was very filling and tasty! However, if you want to go for some nice oysters, a real oyster bar will serve you better. That being said, our server was very friendly and helpful and made our experience very enjoyable!

The food was delicious! Clamp chowder soup was perfectly yummy, and full of clamps! Everything we ordered was tasty as well. Portions are pretty big too. I was too full after the soup and half of the shrimp! Staff were friendly, and they have many seatings.

My girlfriend and I were seated right next to the water which was an absolute delight for us. Our server was Chad. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the Sweet and sour calamari, new England clam chowder and the Lobster tails. Everything was delicious! I don't know why that other dude said the Calamari tasted like chicken tenders(it didn't) but I thought it was one of the best ones I've ever had.

The food here is absolutely delicious! The amazing taste of smoked teriyaki sauce salmon was the best I've ever had in a while! Every plate had an a wonderful presentation to them! The place is a little expensive but it's definitely worth coming back for more! :]

Love everything. Location was good. Food was amazing! They don't have a great view compared to other nice ones around but I don't care much about that. Bartender was very nice and kind. Definitely recommend and I will visit again.

Went to this restaurant for seafood lunch. We were seated away from the main restaurant in a quieter section facing the small boat harbor. The service was great, friendly waiter with prompt service. We ordered the clam chowder bowl as starter and fisherman plate for mains. Main course arrived before we had chance to finish starter. Food was of a good standard and quality. Not exceptional but good. What you can expect from a busy tourist area seafood restaurant.

So far the best fried calamari I’ve ever had. Crunchy but soft and not oily at all. The garlic bread is very tasty but a little oily. Claw chowder on sourdough bread is the sensation around San Francisco and it can be found every corner of the city but my choice was at the Pier Market and no regrets. It was very good option to a chill evening. Oh, not forgetting to mention the good wine selection. If you get a window seat you’ll be able to watch the Sea Lions 🦭

Amazing spot for fresh seafood at Pier39/Fisherman’s Wharf! Highly recommend you make reservations here as the place was really busy around dinner time on a Friday when we visited. There’s a huge selection of seafood appetizers and mains that you can’t really go wrong with choosing whatever you like. The dishes where it includes main different seafood is a good start for anyone wanting to try different things. The drinks were very good as well and was very generous with the amount. We got some mixed sodas and the strawberry mojito was very good.

This was one of our favorite places that we ate at while visiting San Francisco. The quality of the food was outstanding and that showed through in the flavor. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! We got the Fried Calamari and a cup of the Clam Chowder to share. My husband ordered the Shrimp Combo (forgot the name of the dish) which had Shrimp Scampi, Grilled Shrimp, and Butterflied Fried Shrimp with french fries and mashed potatoes. I ordered the Grilled Salmon with a Lobster Tail that came with garlic red potatoes and a vegetable medley.

My go to place for chowder when visiting SF. Usually hits the spot, but this time around was a big missed. The bread bowl was cold and stale, but the chowder itself was good. My wife ordered the Salmon and felt that it was overcooked while the veggies were old, soggy and brown. I ordered the clam linguine and they topped it off with about 1lb of Parmesan cheese which I didn't ask for, nor do I remember it coming on the item. Might be our last visit here.

Expensive. The view is very nice you can see the sea lions! Food was very good. The fried calamari was delicious so was the hamburger! Workers are super nice and the food came quick like in about 10 minutes it less! 💕

Exceptional restaurant on the edge of the bay. Excellent value for money. We enjoyed fresh fish and shrimp dishes. The waiters are very friendly. We had a great time there during our stay in San Francisco. We enjoyed it so much that we went back a second time at the end of our stay.

Blame it to google maps for my disappointment but I was expecting a whole crab when I ordered the crab(like what I've seen in photos on google maps). Came in pieces and without the head. Also tasted a bit old and salty. I did though like the bib; made for some fun photos. The crab cakes though were delicious! Best cakes I've ever had. The chowder was tasty even though there wasn't really pieces of anything in it. Staff were nice. I wish there was a barrier fr the table beside us/above a level. The patron above pulled at his lobster tail and it flicked down onto our table. Drinks and food are affordable but I still wished the food was overall better tasting.

Delicious sea food! Had the clam chowder in a sourdough bowl and the whole crab with garlic potatoes. We were so stuffed!! The service was great and we had a lovely view of the bay and the sunset. The cocktails were good too! The place is definitely touristy though and not super 'up-scale' so bear that in mind. However, I really enjoyed it!

Pretty good Clam Chowder. I’ve also had a few clam chowders in my life so far, but I wouldn’t consider myself a connoisseur. I saw the reviews raving about it so decided to try it since I’m visiting SF. It’s definitely good. The clam is cooked right, the sourdough bread is crunchy on the outside and soft/chewy on the inside. I paired it with the Caesar salad. The service is really good too, waiters are very attentive. The restaurant is also clean. All in all, I may have considered giving this restaurant 4.5 stars. But I just can’t say the taste is memorable. That’s the only reason I would dock a half star. Otherwise it’s great. I probably wouldn’t return though (at least not for the clam chowder).

All the counter-serve places near the entry of the pier had long lines and no tables. We were so grateful to walk by this gem! We got a seat in front of huge windows with a cute of sea lions!

The best clam chowder I’ve ever tasted. Sourdough bread really matched the clam chowder soup. The bread is wet inside but a little bit crunchy outside, so the texture is nice. The soup is thick and creamy enough, and full of seafood. You won’t miss it when you’re in pier 39!

  • 5/5 HC H. 2 years ago on Google
The service was super friendly. Every thing was very tasty, except for the crab cake which was small and tasted so-so, and was not as flavorful as the ones I had in Baltimore. Overall still a highly recommended place!

The appetizer was very delicious. Try out the sweet & sour calamari, really delicious. However, the main dish was rather bland. Otherwise it would've been a 5 star review.
