Who doesn't like a great classic steakhouse? In a city where Michelin Star restaurants are on every corner, it's nice to know you can get some classic upscale comfort food in a big ol' grilled dry aged steak with creamed spinach and potatoes au gratin. Fried scallop appetizer - this was a special recommended by our excellent waiter. The outside added just the right amount of crunch without overcooking the scallop. This was served with a mild chili sauce. Wedge Salad - This was one of the more tasty Wedge salads I've had. I was sharing with a friend, and our waiter and kitchen was nice enough to cut it in half and plate each half for us separately. Plenty of tasty blue cheese dressing. 24 oz Dry Aged Porterhouse with creamed spinach and scalloped cheesy potatoes. This had a great dry aged flavor. When you walk in you can see where they are dry aging their own beef on premises. I forget how many days they dry age their steak, but I doubt it was the usual 28 days to get that distinct flavor from the steak. Cooked it a perfect medium rare with a nice crust to it. Not much seasoning needed, just some salt and butter on top. Sides were excellent as well. I've eaten at some of the best steakhouses in the country, and I can say Harris' Restaurant is in the top tier for sure.

Go for a more spacious and gracious experience vs The House of Prime Rib. World class service. All the traditional steak house dishes prepared to perfection. Check out their bar room for live jazz trio and generously portioned cocktails.

There are no doubt superlatives written about Harris’. I will write only about one dish: the 2 1/2 lobster🦞. Going to a steakhouse 🥩 for a lobster? I was going for the famous steaks too. But when I saw the weight of the lobster 🦞 as 2 1/2 lobsters I had to try it. That big guy was pulled fresh from the tank in the kitchen. I could still taste the sea water in the meat of the claws. Many times I’ve had lobster tail. Always frozen, around a pound. Might as well be a different animal. The claws were so delicate and tender. You are served the whole rig: shell cracker, slender meat tines, and a bib. Had to wear the bib if only for show. After I worked through the both claws, which was a lot of lobster, I still had the tail. After I ate the first half of the tail, I thought, there still more lobster! This is a lot of lobster. The meal was served with scalloped potatoes and sautéd vegetables. 🥕. The dish was expensive, “A.Q.” But I walked into Harris’ knowing it wasn’t low budget. I walked out knowing that I had dined on the most delicious dish I had eaten in my live. What price can you place on that? Go to Harris’, order the lobster 🦞, and be amazed.

My friend and I both ordered prime rib and were surprised at how large the portions were! The prime rib was at least one inch thick and bigger than the size of my head, but we ate every last bit of it. Sometimes eating out on a holiday can be chaotic, but Harris was so well organized. The staff were friendly and the service was very prompt. I'd definitely come again.

They have three different seating rooms: bar, dinner, and prime seating. The prime seating is just with reservations and only serves steaks. The dinner and bar have steak and everything else. They have a BBQ stand as well, which is open till 5 pm ( hours may change). The quality of the food is great and the portions are huge. Of course, it is pricy but definitely worth it. We tried prime ribeye steak and porterhouse steak. We tried their house wine as well.

Service has been amazing both times we dined here... For starters we ordered 2 oyster appetizers, my 7 year old had one order to himself and loved it. We ordered the crab cakes with sauce.. so good. We also had to order the beef tartar my two oldest children loved and finished all of it both visits. For our main course, My husband ordered the A5 wagyu both visits he says it's phenomenal. I had the lobster and filet mignon, my oldest son had the porterhouse with truffle sauce on the side, my 3 kids had the fresh chicken tenders.

We dined here for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The service was impeccable (shout out assist waitstaff “Terry”who was genuine, full of personality and extremely helpful) Filet was the best I’ve ever had, presented well and cooked to perfection. Classic steakhouse ambiance, we will return.

Old style steakhouse with white glove service. We get the prime rib as it’s huge for the price. They do have a cork fee if you want to bring your own bottle but if you purchase a second from them, they wave the fee.

Great experience and great food. Service was amazing. The prime rib was delicious, as well as the file mignon. The martini it’s perfectly made. Honestly I think it’s better than House of Prime Rib, if you look at the quality of service, food, and price. Highly recommend.

Really good steak. Old school steakhouse serves up great classic dishes. Traditional plates really shine at this location. The porterhouse was on point. The shrimp cocktail was fresh and the tartare was well done. Don’t sleep on the sides too. The vegetables were handled with care. The service is top notch. Harris is a great place to celebrate an occasion or simply have a night out with your partner. A definite revisit is in order. Did steaks up 🥩🥩

Harris' doesn't disappoint. We go here for our anniversary every year, and every year is the same top notch quality of steaks, service and overall atmosphere. They always give us a complementary small pudding or some sort of dessert for our anniversary, which is the icing on the cake. This time we tried the soup of the day which was baked potato soup with truffle, and it was probably one of the best soups I've ever had. We've also previously enjoyed their cauliflower soup, which was equally one of the best. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and the au gratin potatoes are to die for. Everything was amazing as usual.

Great ambience, lovely dining experience. Chonky dry aged steaks. Really liked the crab cakes here, and that pistachio creme brulee was so so scrumptious! Only letdown was the waiter suggesting I go medium rare instead of the rare I usually order. Was not worth. But I enjoyed my partner's steak instead.

Service was great, atmosphere was perfectly classic steakhouse, and food was amazing. Girlfriend and I celebrated 1 year together at dinner here and they made it special. Will be back for sure!

Best American restaurant I've been to in San Francisco. The atmosphere was very nice and the waiters were really kind people. I recommend their steak and mushrooms.

We started with the Wagyu starter that was very good. We then had the Harris Ceasar salad. I thought the salad was tasty but a bit too much dressing. The anchovy strip was a nice surprise that I hadn't seen in a long time. We had the Harris steak, cooked med-rare. It was cooked to perfection. The flavor was on point but was not as tender as I expected (although, to be fair, I had just eaten the Wagyu.) We finished with the peach baked Alaska. The ice cream and the meringue were great, the crust was bland. The service was superb. I appreciate their attention to detail. I love the atmosphere here.

We have eaten at Harris’ restaurant often. The food is delicious, especially the steak tartar and crab cakes for appetizers. We have never had a bad meal. The staff is friendly and attentive. We usually eat in the bar area because we like the ambiance there.

Old timey institution of a steakhouse with experienced servers. The prime rib was juicy and just right, a pleasant surprise for me since I always ask for medium not medium rare and they usually overcook it. It was also bigger than my face, haha. The cheesecake was smooth and creamy. Top notch dinner experience overall.
