Amazing place! Best bahn mi in Hayes valley. Bread is solid, a great ratio of pickles, vegetables and meat, everything is cut well. Would recommend trying the sardine sandwich if you like fish.

Stopped by here in the middle of the day because I was hungry and needed a snack. I got the shrimp spring rolls and was very pleasantly surprised. I could tell immediately they were very fresh as the box was quite heavy (not like other places where the spring rolls have been sitting out and dry). They also just tasted amazing. Can’t wait to be back to try other stuff!

I got the Shrimp Papaya Salad and boy was it amazing! So flavorful and just very refreshing! I can’t wait to try everything else on their menu!

Their pork combo is maybe in the top five banh mi I've had. My reference point is eating them a good amount growing up in Seattle and visiting Vietnam twice.

Definitely the best banh my in Sf! Clean, efficient, fast and affordable. I often wait less than 15 mins for my sandwich. My usual order is the soup of the day (kale with chicken based broth- meatless), shrimp spring roll, chicken banh my and the roast pork banh my. The soup is insanely good with a hint of lime. The bread and protein are always so fresh! Highly recommend. Portion size is generous!

The food is pretty good and the staff are really nice. Unfortunately, they just keep raising the prices at this location, and giving less and less food The last couple times I’ve gone in, my banh mi had such little meat, I was honestly shocked. They slice the shrimps into like 1/8th instead of half like you would for a typical rice paper roll, so you’re basically just paying for lettuce and vermicelli I really liked the food, but I just don’t think I can recommend it in the current state to people for how much it costs and how little you get

Fresh. Simple. Consistent. I had the 5 spice chicken sandwich, soup, and spring rolls. Arrived early enough to get one of the very limited counter seats. Plenty more standing counter space in the parklet though. Hard to beat a good $10 bahn mi in the Bay Area!

Tiny takeout place with banh mi sandwiches, rice bowls, fresh spring rolls; we found seats and fabulous chicken & five spice chicken bowls, shrimp fresh rolls, and thai iced tea for a quick bite before the opera; you can tell even before that first delicious bite that this place is loved and frequented by locals. Do not expect atmosphere, or necessarily a place to sit although there is one bench and about 8 counter stools - we were delighted near the end of their hours, and will plan on finding picnic goodness here in the future as well!

Location gets pretty busy but worth the wait. Highly recommend the chicken bahn and fresh bowl. Ingredients are very fresh and the flavor is amazing. They make everything to order and my banh was hot when I got it. They don't let you inside but there is some standing booths outside on the sidewalk where you can eat if you want. Friendly staff.

Wonderful take out restaurant with a tiny space that has a few high chairs to eat on the premises. Two basic foods done extremely well; ban mi and salad bowls!! We had a 5 spiced chicken salad bowl and the spicy pork ban mi and both were exceptional and tasty. Total cost was $22! So if you want a quick and cheap bite, look no further as this is the place!

The best place to have a lunch in downtown. I especially like their soup of the day ( just $3.5) and chicken breast bowl. My kids enjoy the meal too. Very fresh, clean, fast and reasonable food.

Really good and fast bahn mi. I got the roasted pork sandwich with no mayo or cucumbers. It took them about 45 seconds to make, and tasted great. Just the right amount of each ingredient and the bread was warm and fresh.

Really great banh mi’s! I had the pork and it was so good. Especially love that they put pate in some of their sandwiches. The tofu one was also very good. They are currently out of the duck.

Recommend: Roasted pork bahn my Delightful mix of flavours, though too greeny for my taste (from the coriander).

+ crispy bread + portion size was just right + reasonable price - there was a little bit too much sauce in the tofu

Killer bahn mi around $8 out the door. French roll is outstanding and absorbs the juice without getting soggy; pork is delicious; jalapeños, cilantro, and pickled veggies were excellent; perfect mayo amount (light). Good-sized sandwich. I crushed it immediately but at that size many people could eat half for lunch and take half home for part of dinner. $8 for 1.5 meals in SF is a deal. Sriracha available but unnecessary when it's so good. I might ask for double jalapeños instead. The "Fresh" bowl is the vermicelli option, and that's next for me whenever I'm in the area.

I had the pork Banh mi and my wife had the tofu Banh mi. I found the Banh mi to be very flavorful and service was quick.

Delicious and affordable—only wish it stayed open a bit later. The best quick lunch (or dinner if you’re early enough) in the neighborhood.

Teriyaki tofu bowl was a good meal. Very limited seating.

The best meal I ever had in California. Warm, fresh, packed with flavour. Absolute banger. If you are in SA and you don't go to Dragons Eat you haven't been to SA :)

Consistently awesome tasting. I have tried the Roasted Pork, Pork Meatball, Roasted Duck and 5 Spoce Chicken and thats the order of best to still good! Coming from ESSJ we had more affordable options but this places quality is on par. There is standing parklet available for immediate consumption

First time here- I was greeted very politely by who I presume to be the owner. He recommended the duck- and I will pass this place along with the duck banh mi recommendation to all of you! It is crispy, flavourful, and has a great infusion of both hot and cold. And their sandwhiches do not break the bank!

First time trying an Asian style sandwich like this one. Very delicious. Perfect lunch

I got the tofu rolls and a tofu bowl. The rolls are heavy so definitely would have been fine on it’s own. Ended up saving the bowl for lunch the next day and it was still yummy!
