I AM SO EXCITED TO REVIEW THIS RESTAURANT! I’ve travelled all over eating food, hitting a lot of classic spots, stuff featured on Food Network, too yelp reviews spots…I’ve been blessed to have eaten a ton of good food! But this place….this place may easily be one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. This is the most unsuspecting Michelin restaurants I’ve ever been to, the price is crazy affordable, and the food is DROOL WORTHY. The Juicy Pork Bao is one of the greatest dishes I’ve ever eaten. It hits every element. To die for. The Long Bao (soup dumplings) made me want to shout). The Fried Chicken Wings were a pleasant surprise, they were crispy when we got them and never got soggy. The spice level was PERFECT. When I am old and gray I will tell my kids about this place. The meal I had will live in my dreams and memories for the rest of my life. If I ever know of anyone traveling to SF I will FORCE THEM TO GO!

These are the best dumplings I’ve had in my entire life. Everything is perfect on them, perfectly balanced in every proportion. I would recommend ordering some in every style to share with the table. IMP the best ones are the ones filled with spicy pork and vegetables. The steamed dumplings with the peanuts sauce is out of this world. The wait might be long even in a Monday for dinner so keep that in mind and try to arrive early if you don’t like to wait. The line moves fast and service is fast once you sit. Keep in mind that you should decide everything by the time you order first. Otherwise, it would take longer to prepare whatever you order after. After all you have a long wait to think about it lol.

Great vegan options! Got the vegetable pan-fried bao, dry green beans, tofu skin noodles, veggie dumplings, and wood ear mushroom salad. The tofu skin noodles were springy and had a nice vinaigrette, very tasty and not common at other dumpling places in this area. The filling for the both dumplings was well-seasoned and full of many textures. Really fresh tasting vegetables like cabbage, carrots, and mushrooms. Tip: we went around 6:45 on a Thursday night to add our name on the waitlist for 3 people, the wait was only 20 min.

Best dumplings I’ve had in SF. Possibly best dumplings I’ve had outside of China. The soup dumplings were amazing— the skin was so thin it was translucent. The pan fried pork dumplings were so juicy! A must try— it’s very rare to find them outside of Shanghai. 100% worth the wait.

Quaint hotspot for Dim Sum in Hayes Valley. I came here for a workday lunch with a coworker and we very much enjoyed ourselves. The menu was easy to understand and the service was efficient. The dumplings were tasty and some of them were very "soupy" (filled with broth). I specifically chose some items which were supposedly spicy but not really to me. I would suggest this place for locals and tourists alike.

Came here on Sunday at 11:30 right when they opened and was able to eat outside. It does get pretty crowded so I recommend coming when they open or earlier. Service was great! I got a lot of water refills and our waiter made sure we were taken care of. The food was excellent, but my favorite was the pan fried juicy pork bao, highly recommend! I would get more than the 6 I ordered next time since they were that good.

I am kinda picky when it comes to dumplings. I have a good deal of experience making food . The ratings for this place were quite high so we arrived with great expectation. The service was very good. The dumplings look great, but the filling was rubbery! Any experienced cook knows that this is due to over processing the filling with the mixer and/or freezing the rolled filling. Several of their dumplings were like this. The only ones that were not: soup dumplings. The ones below look very cute, but be careful as they are very difficult to eat and a hot liquid inside squirts out upon the first bite (It squirted into my eye!) Should have gone to to Dumpling Time, so much better.

The XLB is the best I've had in the country. The steamed and fried versions are amazing and with the limited amount of menu, I expected it as so. Pretty much everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and to near perfection.

Incredible atmosphere and amazing food! These dumplings were so delicious. We tried the pan fried dumplings, steamed dumplings, and pot stickers! Flavors were amazing and service was great! There was a pretty good sized line, so we went to another place down the street and had a drink while we waited to be seated! Highly recommend!

Wow wow wow. Everything we ordered was fantastic! The baos were bursting with flavor and had such thin skin. The Dan Dan noodles were bouncy and chewy. The chicken wings had such a crispy and light coating but drenched in such a sticky sauce. We will definitely be coming back on our next trip and will highly recommend to all our friends.

Food was good . Something has to be said: 100% of the soup dumplings were "full" (32pcs). I mean they all had soup in it none were broken and the dough wasn't too thick nor too small. Just perfect. Only reason it's not 5 stars , because our potstickers were not fully cooked but the server made it right and offered to get another order to replace but we were in the rush and they just took it off the bill. Would definitely go back

I think the steamed soup dumplings were the stars, the rest I would honestly skip out on. Definitely on the pricier side, but I appreciate the unique fillings for the thin skinned soup dumplings, especially the vegetarian ones. The appetizer sides were bland and not spicy as advertised. Overall would recommend for some good XLB!

Food 9/10 Definitely get the 生煎包 aka pan-fried dumplings. The pork ones are the OG, and they literally tasted exactly like home. I really missed Shanghai after this meal, but the meal itself was super heartwarming and made me super full. Definitely ask for chili oil to pair with them. We also got the pork and crab soup dumplings, but I think those could be skipped. The flavor of the soup inside them just wasn’t even close to the pan-fried ones, so that left me a bit disappointed. The green beans are fine and a good way to balance the copious amounts of dumplings we were inhaling. Atmosphere 8/10 A normal Chinese restaurant I guess Service 8/10 Very sad we arrived and waited around an hour before our time on the waitlist came to be. But it was worth the wait. I don’t mind. Service is solid, but we were starving at that point, so whenever we saw a plate of dumplings go by and swerve to another table, we got sad.

I’ve been to a decent amount of Dim Sum restaurants both in the Bay Area and outside and while this is not a “traditional” cart dim sum style restaurant - the food is wonderful and the flavors are spot on. The ambiance is so so but everything else more than makes up for that. I would say that ultimately this location is currently tied as my favorite SF dim sum spot with Yank Sing.

The dumplings and beef pockets were excellent. I tried jellyfish salad for the first time here and I found it pretty good, I recommend it. The bean paste noodles were underwhelming. We sat outside and the road traffic passing by right next to the tables area is distracting and stressful.

Very, very good food. The menu was more expensive than what I saw on google. But still OK. Beers $9+ wine $13. Share plates. They get you in Quick and quick out. Everything is fresh made of course. Family of 5 cost $100 + tip no drinks.

This was my first time trying real homemade dumplings, and I’m so happy I tried them. We ordered random dishes from different parts of the menu, and nothing was left uneaten. I would definitely come back to this Michelin rated restaurant!

Is it worth the wait? Not over 20 minutes I don't think. Luckily I came on a Monday before opening. There was already a line but no wait. One of the best xlb's that I've had. The skin was thin and the meat was soft. The chili oil and sesame paste dumplings had too much sesame paste. The price was reasonable for the quality but the noodle portions were sooo small. Store bought noodles don't cost that much I think you can spare a few more. I would come again.

My friends and I got there half an hour before they opened on the weekend, but there was already a line forming outside the restaurant. The line was really big by the time the restaurant opened. Dumpling home has both indoor and outdoor seating areas. We tried their following items from their menu - 1. Numb and spicy pork XLB 2. Pork XLB 3. Green onion pan cake 4. Seasoned beef with special sauce 5. Dry shrimp egg and chives pockets 6. Pork bao 7. Ginger and green onion noodles 8. Pork and vegetable pot stickers 9. Seasoned beef pockets 10. Thai iced tea Let me start by saying that the food was overall delicious. The XLB soup was very flavorful, and the pork filling was juicy and soft. There was a decent amount of soup inside the XLBs. They also provide you with a soup spoon so its easier to break open the XLB without spilling the soup. The numb and spicy pork XLB wasn't really spicy at all. The covering of the XLBs was firm enough not to break that easily when grabbing it, but it was slightly thicker. The green onion pan cake was very thin and didn't have much flavor. The seasoned beef and seasoned beef pockets are exactly the same thing, except one comes with pockets, and the other doesn't. The beef was a bit dry, and the oil/sauce it came with was a saving grace. It's better to order one of the two dishes (seasoned beef or seasoned beef pockets) because they taste exactly the same. The ginger and green onion noodles were slightly firm and quite flavorful. Shrimp egg and chives pockets were pretty decent, too. The service was fast. A little more attention from the serves would have been nice (nothing serious), but the place was packed, so I understand. I mostly came to get my XLB fix, and I wasn't disappointed.

Our meal was well worth the wait! Highlights were the juicy pork pan fried dumplings and mushroom boiled dumplings. Both of those were exceptional! The 炸酱面 were okay, but not the best. I’d definitely stick to the dumplings. XLB were delicious too, and there’s a convenient soup spoon that makes eating them super easy! We were seated quickly as a party of 2.

Three of us had lunch. Despite being busy we were seated after a five minutes wait. They have a diverse menu. The food came out in a reasonable but not fast interval. Some of the dishes were good others missed the mark. Bathroom was average. Price was reasonable for lunch in San Francisco. Parking is challenging.

I’m pleased to say that this taste exactly or even better than original Chinese food! We waited about 15 min during the busy lunch times, and when we sat down and ordered, the food came almost straight away. We ordered the pork xiao long bao, crab & pork xiao long bao, ginger and green onion noodles and the juicy pork bao. It all came up to about $60. I really hope you guys can open more restaurants all over the country!❤️
