The Gulshan Garden is one of the oldest gardens in Shiraz. During the Safavid dynasty, it was used as a palace by the Safavid Kings. The current main building was constructed by Mirza Ali Mohammad Khan Qavam II in 1863. He bought a nearby qanat to water his garden. After his death, the garden was eventually inherited by his niece, Afife; thus being called "Afif-Abad".

Afif Abad Garden in autumn is a mesmerizing retreat. The vibrant foliage paints a breathtaking panorama, and the rustling leaves underfoot add a symphony to your stroll. The rich hues of red, orange, and gold transform this garden into a serene haven, making it a must-visit during the fall season. Embrace the tranquility and beauty of nature at its finest here. 🍂 #AutumnSplendor #AfifAbadGarden

It is one of the most beautiful places in Shiraz, and no matter what time of day you visit it, you will be able to enjoy the shade of trees and be alone with yourself. After visiting this garden several times, I think the people who lived there seemed to be in heaven on earth.

Afifabad Garden or Golshan is one of the historical monuments of Shiraz city. This garden is located in the neighborhood of Afif Abad in Sattar Khan Blvd. Shiraz and is currently in the possession of the army and one of the largest military museums in the Middle East is located in it. This garden was one of the personal properties of Il Zul Qadr, the ruler of Fars during the Safavid period. Afif Abad garden is a perfect example of Iranian flower art. The builder of the Bagh mansion is Mirza Ali Muhammad Khan Qavam al-Mulk II, who built it in 1284 AH.

A hidden gem!!! Try to visit close to sunset to enjoy its beautiful lights. Previously known as Golshan garden, Afif Abad garden dates back to the Safavid era when it functioned as their court. The garden mostly follows the tradition of European gardens while the edifice results from a combination of Achaemenid, Sassanid and Qajarid architectural characteristics with some European touches. Highly recommended!!!
