Dr. Chris was very through with my eye exam. He took the time to explain, educate, review past exam information, and even repeat tests when my pupils were resistant to the drops. I had an amazing experience with everyone at Dr. Hopkins & Associates Optometry! The front desk staff were very welcoming and friendly and I had a great experience with Dr. De Marinis. Dr. De Marinis was thorough in her examination and even took the time to explain what all she had tested and what the results from those tests meant. Dr. De Marinis is very knowledgeable and personable, I'd recommend her to anyone!

I haven’t been to the eye doctors in years and was advised by my family physician I need to start having regular checkups. I found Dr. Hopkins & Associates Optometry was highly rated online and decided to go there. I had a great experience from the minute I walked in the door. Two friendly staff members greeted me when I got there. The office was clean, modern, and well designed. I only had to wait a few minutes until one of the girls from the reception desk took me into an office to take pictures of my eyes and run some tests. I saw Dr. Chris Schellingerhoudt and he was fantastic. He was friendly and happily chatted with me while doing my eye exam which completely put me at ease. It turns out I need glasses for reading (I’m not surprised, I’m getting older) and another wonderful staff member took the time to help me pick out glasses that work with my features and meet my needs. She did some measurements to make sure my glasses will be perfect for me when they come in. I also found the prices to be reasonable and they had a great selection of glasses to choose from. Overall I had a great experience and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of an eye doctor.

I was assessed by Dr. Schellingerhoudt for my vision prescription and also issues involving dry eyes. I’ve being seeing optometrists regularly since I was 5 years of age due to strabismus. I’ve never had such amazing care that I recall. Dr.Schellingerhoudt is very thorough and detailed with his assessments. His vast knowledge is shared with the patient by educating and explaining his findings, he also addressed all my questions and concerns. All the staff at Dr.Hopkins and Associates provided exceptional service. I would highly recommend this clinic.

The entire visit went so smoothly. From eye tests, time with Dr. Chris, payments taken, to setting up next year’s appointment. The new space is open and airy and the parking is very easy.

I was nervous to take my small kids (1 and 3 at the time) and I was blown away with how great Dr. Chris Schellingerhoudt was with both of them. Extremely patient and is an absolute natural with kids. We brought our son to see Dr Chris for the initial vision therapy intake appt. Our son struggles with lengthy appts due to multiple diagnosis. At about 45 min into the appt, Dr Chris did not hesitate to offer us to come back for the "second half" of the appt another day to finish the assessment. We left feeling cared for and welcome. At the second appt Dr Chris showed our son so much patience and kindness yet again. When our son was too tired to finish getting his new glasses measured, Dr Hopkins office continued to go above and beyond for our family. Our son wanted to sit in the van and finish his movie, and so Mrs. Shannon made sure to show up for our family. He had his last measurements done in the comfort of our van!! A big part of our lives has been spent in Doctors offices and this was such a wonderful experience. We look forward to vision therapy and this journey with Dr Chris and colleagues ❤️

Love this clinic and the staff there! They truly care about the patient. The Dr. took the time to listen to my concerns and actually found out what was happening with my eyes. I had been to a number of other optometrists and ophthamologists who found nothing. Aside from that they cared enough to fix/adjust my daughters glasses after they were already closed. Very thankful to have found them!

Have been going to Dr. Hopkins since we first moved to Niagara on the Lake 10 years ago. We have found her to be an excellent optometrist, extremely approachable, and have a superb sense of humour. She takes the time to explain situations in a manner that is understandable by a lay person.

I have never had a more thorough and caring eye doctor. This wasn’t first visit and I won’t go elsewhere now. He sat down with me, made sure I understood what everything he was saying meant, and he cared enough about my eye health to look for/notice things other eye doctors haven’t.

Changed to St Catharines office to be closer to home. Had Dr. Chris examine my eyes. He was thorough and took the time to explain and answer all questions. All of the staff were friendly, attentive & very helpful.

Super expensive, nothing more to say. Unfortunately! Products are same like every other shops but the frames are expensive and the lens is really expensive than frames lol. The optical section staff could have been more helpful to the customer queries.

My previous review was written out of frustration. They went above and beyond to help me from the beginning, with several different things. They still want to help make things right, and we will.

The Doctor was very concern about my eyes. And asked if I had any concerns about my sight. She checked my eyes, took deep pictures of them and showed me how they looked and was not too worried on how they looked. She said to come back next year and she will check them again.

Went for my annual eye exam today, was very impressed with the smooth pace in which everything flowed, flawless. Just the way I like it especially during this pandemic. Really friendly and very helpful staff. Dr Becks is just wonderful and explains everything as you go along with examination. My permanent optometrist always.

Very thorough and professional. The eye exam is painless. However, it is unfortunate that the dilation of the pupil is necessary, especially before the exam. It makes things somewhat blurry and lasts until late afternoon.

Extremely rude people and they will overcharge for anything they can get away with. Any other optometrist is better. Will never go back.

Disgusting service by the secretaries, they are condescending and try to charge extra fees -when questioned about the fees say they have to talk to the dr and once they do there is no extra fee charged. They purposely make you feel intimidated for asking about the charges. They refused to give me my prescription without another eye exam which of course is another fee. This treatment happened the first time and I put it off to a bad day but the second time I realized that this is how they operate and the drs must be fine with this behaviour although not sure how they can keep any customers. Myself and 3 kids will now be going elsewhere

I've been wearing glasses since I was a child and during those years (now in my 70's), I have seen many Optometrists. I am so happy to say that of all of them, Dr. Jessica De Marinis is undoubtedly the very best. I made an appointment with Dr. Hopkins and Associates at their St. Catharines location. I have wet macular degeneration, which I am receiving treatment for and am interested in getting as much information as I can regarding type of equipment and/or services available to treat possible future vision loss. I chose the St. Catharines location as it is closer to my home and my appointment was with Dr. Jessica De Marinis. I cannot praise this young doctor enough. She was very caring and personable; extremely thorough with all tests; informed me regarding my current vision acuity; answered all my questions and even answered some that I didn't know to ask! I was also very happy when Dr. De Marinis informed me that, at the present time, my vision acuity is good and not low, however if I need aids in the future, a low vision specialist is available to give me any information I may need. Without a doubt she is the best Optometrist I have ever had and I am so pleased that I found her and Dr. Hopkins and Associates. The office has equipment that is state of the art and a fantastic range of frames for all ages, male and female. The staff in the office were all very efficient, helpful and friendly. I am very happy to recommend Dr. De Marinis and Dr. Hopkins and Associates to my friends and family and I and my husband will now be seeing her for all future vision requirements.
