Looks very dated as soon as you enter.. but get past that and there's actually loads to see in the museum. Make sure you visit all 3 floors. We went in and did the middle floor and top and nearly didn't go downstairs and would have missed the spitfire and newer area. A great museum, it's free to enter but recommended to give a donation. You can do it by contactless. Worth a visit.

I'm ashamed to say that I've lived in Stoke-on-Trent all my life and never been before....SHOCKING!! Good couple of hours spent looking and admiring the Staffordshire Hoard which is exquisite and the new Spitfire gallery is fabulous, a tribute to a local legend. Lovely cafeteria, facilities for disabled too. Worth a visit definitely.

A voluntary contribution of £3 will get you 3 floors of amazing Staffordshire hoard, inspired ceramics, art and a Spitfire exhibition plus a display of artifacts from all the Commonwealth countries in the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The cafe is great good coffee, cakes and breakfast/ lunch options. The Potteries / Ceramics section is huge, well laid out, informative and at times the pieces astounding. The Spitfire and associated exhibitions are a really well done presentation. The Staffordshire Hoard discovered in 2009 by a detectorist is stunning. This collection of silver, gold and other metal pieces all intricately decorated then buried after the death of Penga of Mercia.

Amazing museum! I urge anyone that goes to donate. They only ask for a £3 donation, and it is definitely worth it. There is so much to look at and learn about here. There is a cafe on the lower floor and a small gift shop. Some stunning pottery and historical finds.

We were happy and surprised to find the museum open on Christmas Eve. We loved exploring all the eras of pottery present and found some of the displays really creatively designed.

Visited to take a look at the new Spitfire display, it's brilliant. Really enjoyed the videos and stories of people's experiences during the war. Also had lunch in the café, the food is lovely

This place is free for everyone interested in the stories about potteries made in the area and also about the life in Stoke on Trent. From Romans to the present it is amazingly showed in plenty of interesting exhibitions. I typically liked the Nature one with sounds and visual effects, showing the different habitats in the area and the animals and insects. Great idea to bring in the children to this place. There is cafe and small souvenirs shop. I highly recommend this place.

What a great day out. We had a guided tour taking in the history of the potteries. Great buildings, very interesting tales of peoples lives and work around the potteries. Had a wonderful lunch and then had a go at making a pot. Absolutely loved it. Highly recommend it as a day out.

I just had a quick visit to see the spitfire gallery on this occasion and was really impressed! Having had a full refurb and rebuild the spitfire looks fantastic. The gallery itself looks amazing, with a cafe and toilets close by, there is a lift for wheelchair users not only to get to the spitfire but to get to the upper floor of the gallery. I will be visiting again in the future and will give a bit more indepth review.

Brilliant It was really nice to walk around it was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful the funny thing is that when I was younger and at school some of the exhibits on show now we're on show then not in this Museum but the old one ( we are talking the 60s) one thing I couldn't see was the huge wooden wheel driven by steam I would think, can't remember what it was used for but going by the size of it it was for more than one thing probably a shaft, I remember other things such as the large pot in the entrance close to the Museum shop then there was the coffin plus it's lid made from stone along with some other things, there are few things from the Coal Miners strike back in the 80s at the time I was a coal miner working underground at Hem Heath Colliery in Trentham. And a special mention to the Spitfire standing in its own room Designed by R G. Mitchell never actually saw it fly in the second World War as he passed away just before it started so he never knew how well his Spitfire performed during the war. Can I suggest during this summer holiday you go and have a look around YOUR museum and see it all for yourself.

Lovely way to spend a morning. Lots for the kids to see and interact with. Loads of nearby parking too. The spitfire looked particularly beautiful in its coat of poppies.

Well worth a visit. A very good range of pottery history and the Staffodshire Hoard to boot! Could easily spend 2-3 hours just browsing. Maybe a day if you have a strong interest.

Lovely museum for a family morning out. We first went and looked at the spitfire exhibition which was great. Lots of details and information available. There is also a cafe here and a picnic area doe if you bring your own food. We then went around the main exhibition which the kids enjoyed the interaction. There was a colouring section at the natural part but unfortunately there was no paper available much to the disappointment of my 3 year old! Lots of things to look at and a little shop at the end. There is no parking for the library so you must use the local car parks. There are toilets available here.
