Highly recommend for pottery lovers. Learn a bit of history , workshops (pottery painting and print making ) to attend, and a wonderful shop for stunning ceramic wares. Day well spent.

The museum is beautiful but the pottery is not. The quality of the spode pottery is disappointing, what you see in museum display is different from what you get. Extremely disappointed with the quality of the dinner set I got from spode. After visiting the museum I was in aww of Spode but not anymore.

Charity run museum on the original Spodeworks site. A little small and clearly run to a tight budget but the charity volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable. The highlight is some of the 200 year old Spode bone china collection. Featuring the iconic blue and white wear. The charity is currently seeking to purchase more of the site to haverenough display space for the full collection. Many exhibits are displayed without glass allowing good photographic opportunities. Hopefully with enough time and funding this will grow into an important museum.

Walking distance from Stoke on Trent railway station. Helpful staff. Lots of crockery to choose from the store. Those interested could opt for the guided tour.

A really interesting museum with a wonderful, unusual shop. The adjoining tearoom/restaurant is excellent but you may need to book.

Free to visit, small exhibition about the history of Spode china on site of old Spode factory. There is an excellent shop with variety of great value Spode items and also other china. Café, toilets and restaurant share same site.

I love this museum, the lady that volunteers here is fascinating to talk to and her knowledge is vast, she always has time for you as well, if you like the pottery museums and the Potteries vast history this is the place for you, not to keen on the place you can go and have a drink it's way too busy and over priced and if you don't book you've no chance even of a brew , It would be much nicer to have a tea room using Spode China, with some history to look at, that would make it perfect!!!!

Have very knowledgeable staff and assisted with questions. Education regarding the pottery industry was provided. The site is being renovated by volunteers and they are trying to improve what is offered for the site. Would like to see the potential in the future. Gift shop was very extensive.

This was a small and friendly museum. Free to enter. The car park was free on the Sunday, not sure about other days. Sadly this is not now a working pottery. We stayed about 2 hours, which is enough.

The shop selling valued stuff with amazingly reasonable prices. Exceptionally selected potteries displayed in the museum corner. Volunteering staff are knowledgeable and supportive to all visitors.

I went here back in 2017 so my review isn’t too up to date. I thought the exhibitions were interesting but there wasn’t too much that was very engaging. Would’ve been cool to have had more of the artists there to talk to.

Although the museum is small it would be fascinating to talk to the demonstrators (sadly they weren't there on my visit). I used to work there in mid 70's so it was nostalgic. Nice cafe on site too and first 2hrs free on car park.

Amazing experience for lovers of pottery. Very helpful staff and volunteers who are passionate about pots - just like us! Remember to budget at least an hour for the expansive gift shop which includes collectible, vintage, and antique pottery from around England, including of course tons of Spode items. While other shops in town are quite overpriced, the prices here are tantalizing and will leave you delightfully satisfied. New items arriving often.

An amazing effort to capture an important part of Stoke's history in the production of English Bone China. I'll return with my wife in spring 2024 when the museum refurbishment is completed. We will stay in the on-site hotel and dine in the on-site restaurant for the proper experience.

Attended a Claybody Theatre show and loved the venue. So nice to see a heritage building being used so rare in Stoke on Trent to even find a heritage building!

Small but very interesting museum. We visited to see the COVID Quilt embroidery exhibition, which was wonderful. The museum runs activities and workshops. There is an amazing shop, where beautiful pottery to suit all tastes can be bought at a very good price. There are also cards and gifts on sale. The cafe/ restaurant on site is extremely good, with a large menu including vegan options. However, it's very popular so booking is advisable if you're on a schedule.

Lovely little afternoon out. A very small place but did feel very at ease there. The staff were really lovely and they offered free tea and coffee and sold very very cheap books. We had a little go at air drying clay and colouring too

Went to see the album covers exhibition, but it is an excellent museum of Spode history and the works that were created there, well worth a visit.

Cream teas are amazing here. Great atmosphere, great selection, unlimited tea and coffee and a great price. The staff were very helpful and doting and we had a lovely afternoon.

What a strange venue. Attended performance of Oliver last night by a local company. Brilliant, such a wealth of young talent. Acoustics very strange but it is a big concrete room not the Albert Hall and it did not detract from the evening. A bit reminiscent of concerts at the old Bingley Hall at Stafford. Will be interested to see how it develops

Loved this place, we were greeted at the front door and guided around by a lovely hostess, saw a demonstration of gilding technique from a retired gilder who talked to us for a while about the different pieces and history. The spode shop is excellent and has many pieces at very reasonable prices. When we visited spode we only actually went for a coffee and accidentally wandered into the museum and shop and couldn't have been happier! Would highly recommend visiting, it won't take you long to wander around and the shop is definitely worth it.

Superb display of ceramics from the Spode vault. Good detailed walks about how it all works. Amazing shop too! I will be back with more time in my hands and will go deeply into Spode. Would also love to visit the « blue room » room. This little museum is original, small but all the volunteers are here to help you and guide you around; and they have a good knowledge about Spode. Will be back soon, with more time in my hands and definitely have a deep learn session.

A very unique piece of history! Really shows you how much work it took to make the beautiful pieces.Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Gorgeous pottery haven :) lovely staff, great place to be. Firmly placed on the 'place to go for a nice little visit and a cup of tea with a slice of homemade cake'. Perfect afternoon :)

Went for the inaugural firing of the pizza oven, next to the Works Canteen. Nice pizza, shame it won't be running everyday. Nice little look around the Spode museum and an arts show they had on as well.

Informative staff and volunteers. Interesting displays, video and information, with some activities for children. The shop sells a huge range of the different Spode china designs.
