The owner/chef is out of this world. One of the best meals I had in Japan! Very understated decor, but don’t let that deter you!

We found this restaurant while wandering the streets of Takayama back in April. The owner/chef was super friendly! The restaurant is small and cozy. We had the Stewed Hida Beef Guts, the meat was so well cooked it melted in your mouth. The name might make some people nervous but it was the best dish I had in the city. Also a cute addition is that when we ordered sake he brought out an assortment of random sake cups for us to choose which ones we liked best. 😊

Food was nice and the place had a nice comfortable feel. There is an English menu too! Extra bonus for the cute owner 👍🏻

Very nice, cozy local Izakaya tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood. Food is amazing - fried chicken wing could be the best ones I’ve had.

EVERYTHING on the menu tastes amazing, the cocktails are delicious and the paintings and the overall ambience are absolutely brilliant! We loved it here and hope we get the chance to return

A great place for a late night dinner in a town that closes down pretty early. The ramen was perfect, the french fries were the best and the fried chicken was some of the best in the area. The chef was kind and helpful and even provided a full English menu. I would highly recommend stopping in If you find yourself in Takayama!

Picked this place due to the proximity of my hotel. A bit overpriced for the amount of food given of average quality. Would not be my first pick, but definitely adequate. Does have an English menu available.

Just wanted to eat something. Ended up ordering three more dishes. Ist really good food. Owner is very humble 👍 love it!

If you are looking for a nice sit down lunch in Takayama this is worth a visit. Chef was welcoming and provided English menus. Good range of meal options. Everyone in our group was happy with their meal which was cooked fresh to order. We have been traveling Japan for a number of days now and this meal is up there with the best we have had.

All the food is so delicious. Especially the No.1 chicken wings. The boss is kindly person. We’ll come back again if we visit Takayama
