This place was a film and screenwriting institute. But it’s been some years since that became Cinema Museum. There are lots of valuable and exciting documents, photos and tools that you can see here. If you are interested in the film and movie industry of Iran, definitely visit this museum!

The mansion at the center of ferdows garden is the museum of cinema of Iran. Here you will get to know the history of the Iranian cinema, from its beginning days in late 19th century to the current era. The museum is in three floors, each focusing on one particular period. The architecture of the building and wall carvings are eye-pleasingly beautiful.

I am a fan of Iranian films, especially by Abbas Kiarostami's The Wind WIll Carry Us. Others like Majid Majidi, and of course, Mr. Asghar Farhadi's... So I did pay a visit to this Museum when I was in Iran in the Spring of 2017. It's a good place to learn about the history of Iran's cinema. I liked the cut-out board real size of those directors. They have a small souvenir shop after the entrance, you must visit it too. Behind the museum, there is a nice cafe (free wifi) and a real cinema. Friendly staffs. I assume not many foreign tourists visited this place? It's quite hidden but with Google Map, you shouldn't have problem. VIsit this place if you are visiting the north part.

Majid majidi's Children of Heaven is the first non language film i have seen in my life. Funny to say, like most others i became an avid follower of Iranian films. On my first visit to iran, i ventured into the film history of Iran through the film museum nestled in the valiasr street. Different era of film making are well displayed inside with recreation of some film sets and behind the scene post production works. A must see visit place for movie lovers if you are in Tehran.

A wonderful place. Here you can have a trip 100 years, back to Iran's culture and art time. You can see here the real and powerful Persian culture. I love Iran and I love Iran culture. If you want to have a trip like me then come to the cinema museum of Iran. Here is the facility for drinking and here is a park to enjoy more and more. Photography is allowed here. You can take pictures and enjoy yourself. There is a cinema here too. You can watch movies. At the entrance gate of the cinema museum of Iran, you should pay some money to take the ticket. Cinema Tamadan is also needed tickets. But enjoying in the park is free. Best of luck Iran is the empire of culture and art.

Cinema Museum of Iran at the Ferdows Garden (Bagh Ferdows) Housed in a beautiful Qajar-era mansion surrounded by a pleasant garden, this interesting museum has well-displayed and explained (in English) exhibits of equipment, photos and posters from Iran’s century-old movie industry. The highlight is a working cinema, Iran's first, with ornate moulded plaster ceilings. Nice, quiet, green, peaceful and of course has a lot to give for the cinema and art lovers. There are entry fees but you can sit outside for relaxation. there are many cafe and restaurants there

The Museum of Iranian Cinema is located in the garden of Ferdows Garden. Ferdows Garden is a neighborhood not far from Sarpol-e Tajrish on Valiasr Street. The building of the Cinema Museum is considered to be from the Qajar period. There are three cinemas in the Ferdows Garden complex called (Ferdows, Cinematography, Civilization) that those who are interested in Tehran's modern films can watch the films in these halls. The halls of the Museum of Iranian Cinema represent the history of Iranian cinema and the cultural and cinematic heritage left over from the beginning of this art industry to the present day. Visitors to the museum will get acquainted with the beginners of Iranian cinema, the first cinematic equipment, international honors, and will visit the collection of monuments and achievements of artists.
