A Delightful Journey Through Time and Taste Rating: ★★★★★ I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Old Mills Afternoon Tea, and I must say it was a truly delightful and memorable experience. This hidden gem transports you to a bygone era while tantalizing your taste buds with exquisite flavors. As I entered the quaint old mill, I was greeted by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior was beautifully decorated with vintage furniture, floral patterns, and delicate china, creating a truly enchanting ambiance. The star of the show, of course, was the afternoon tea itself. Presented on a three-tiered stand, it was a feast for the eyes. Each tier showcased an array of delectable treats, perfectly arranged with precision and care. From delicate finger sandwiches with various fillings to freshly baked scones, everything was prepared with the utmost attention to detail. The sandwiches were a delightful assortment of flavors. The bread was soft and fresh, providing the perfect foundation for the fillings. The scones were simply divine – golden and buttery on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Accompanied by clotted cream and strawberry jam, they were the epitome of traditional English indulgence. The top tier showcased an assortment of mouthwatering pastries. Each one was a work of art, meticulously crafted and bursting with flavors. There was something to satisfy every sweet craving. Every bite was a symphony of taste, leaving me craving for more. To complement the afternoon tea, a wide selection of teas and were offered. The knowledgeable staff guided me through the menu, providing recommendations based on my preferences. Their passion for tea was evident, and each cup was brewed to perfection, enhancing the overall experience. What truly sets Old Mills Afternoon Tea apart is the impeccable service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, ensuring that every need was met with a smile. They took the time to answer any questions, adding a personal touch to the experience. In conclusion, Old Mills Afternoon Tea is a hidden gem that captures the essence of a bygone era. From the charming atmosphere to the exquisite flavors, every aspect is thoughtfully curated to create a truly enchanting experience. Whether you're a connoisseur of tea or simply looking for an escape from the modern world, this is a place that will transport you to a simpler, more elegant time. I wholeheartedly recommend Old Mills Afternoon Tea for an unforgettable journey through time and taste.

One of the hidden gem in city of Toronto where one needs to enjoy at least once. This venue is loaded with nature's beauty around and one can enjoy nice half day exploring it while have delicious food at the hotel. There are various spots to do photograph sessions if one interested. There are enough rooms to stay if planning for any event while there are few halls if want to enjoy private parties. The staff is well trained, efficient, prompt service and smiling courteous service. The parking is also enough and extra lots available nearby. Overall it's perfect venue to explore.

Old Mill is a true landmark and beautiful dining facility. Especially, for making celebrations grand that are fantastic memories to last a lifetime. Ambiance, The Garden Room, Management and whole facility is truly outstanding. A few issues with food, nothing that was not attended to. Thank you to all the wonderful staff, who made my bday bash an evening to remember. Especially, ccreating my AK47 explosive signature drink. Cheers, to an incredible night had by all.

Went for dinner with my husband and as usual this place is beautiful! Food was amazing and I got little pastries because it was my birthday so thank you! The service was great and the location just amazing! It's very nice every time we go.. relaxing and calm atmosphere.

The area is beautiful and you can definitely find ways to spend the whole day there, whether at the spa, the park or the restaurant. I love the atmosphere of the buildings, especially inside decor of the restaurant. The pricing is decent for an all you can eat brunch and the staff were very kind. A good place to go for dates or special occasions! My only dislike is the fact that there is no free parking, but if transit is fairly convenient

Super classy hotel that definitely lives up to the historic Toronto vibes. The outside structure and land gives you the old rustic feel of Toronto, but the hotel rooms are modernized and pleasant. Pro-tip: the Old Mill hotel and Old Mill restaurant are two separate entities that share the same building. Something to keep in mind when planning meal reservations or ordering room service. The food from the hotel bar was good though, but the menu is limited.

Heard about them for a long time and finally decided to give their Sunday brunch hugger a try. Dishes are plenty and mostly good. I would skip the hit dishes as the fish is too well cooked, the sausages hard and the beacon are too fatty. The salads are great, the seafood is good and the ham steak is too good to miss. The desserts are plentiful and mostly good as well. Note that there are a lot of senior patrons, so one has to be careful and patiently await your turn.

It was my first time going here for a wedding. The venue is amazing. It's a historic hotel with so much to see. The staff are very welcoming, and there are many great backdrops for photos. Rooms are clean and comfortable. I would definitely go again just to stay and relax. It's pricey but worth it.

Old Mill Toronto is a very cozy hotel. The atmosphere of the hotel is very nice. The rooms are nice and big (with a sitting area). Continental breakfast was included in our room rate but that was a disappointment. We received a tray in the room with some croissants. They had asked us the day before if we want coffee or tea, but we don't want that (we don't drink that). So we got no drink at all. An alternative (such as orange juice) would have been nice. The hotel is a little further from the center but Old Mill tube station is a 5-minute walk away. With the green metro line you can easily reach the center of the city. The hotel offers free covered parking. So that's definitely a plus. I would definitely stay here again.

I recently stayed for two nights for a work event at the hotel and loved it. The hotel is beautiful and clean, while being a throw-back to a different era (like 1800s throwback). The room was large, clean, well appointed. The bar was great, with big comfortable chairs, exposed stone walls, and a welcoming atmosphere — and thank you Astrid for the great service and laughs. Would definitely stay again despite it not being downtown (but it’s right at a subway stop that takes you down the Bloor line, with lots of interesting places to hop off and explore).

or >$500 US dollars per day this hotel primarily capitalizes on it’s location. Quaint with a curbside appeal. The rooms are very basic with minimal amenities. Pillows and hairdryers need updating. The entire place is just dark with poor lighting. Commode is in a corner and the door opens up into the eating/seating area. We ordered breakfast a couple of times and specified vegetarian omelette which came both times with just sautéed onions and we were told they were out of vegetables. So we just started ordering from Uber eats. On our last night (6th day), we took the chance of ordering dinner and was thoroughly disappointed. The owner needs to really address this. Incorrect menu in the room with the wrong QR code, drinks are not covered ( open to air) when delivered to the room, pasta was inedible, pizza was mediocre. Parking is across the the street in an underground area, no valet. Blind spots to get run over with traffic from both sides getting to the parking. I was traveling with my 72 year old mother. People working at the hotel are extremely pleasant and try their best to assist, however upper management really needs to re-evaluate and update current necessities or drop the prices.

What a place! Beautiful historical building located in a cozy and peaceful setting that is still reasonably close to downtown. The "King's suite" is amazing with 12' ceilings, a seperate dining room, in-bathroom jetted tub and a huge balcony that looks out over the courtyard below and a treed ravine.

Quaint and on a quiet residential street. Rooms were rather Victorian, and enjoyed the bottle of wine waiting in our room. Small little bar with a very nice bartender!! Stay here if you want to bypass the crowds in downtown Toronto.

The hostess, waiter and server are professional. Especially the dessert chef gives us a special edible chocolate script written on the dessert and flower decoration on the plate to surprise our wedding anniversary. We enjoy very much during the afternoon tea. Thanks very much for your service.

Beautiful, quaint and cozy! Our company had an event in the Brulee A room- the lighting and fixtures were gorgeous and included a beautiful fireplace. The paints, walls, furniture reminded me of the interior of buildings in England. The staff were amazing- check in at reception, coat check, audio , tables, bar and food even when we ordered extra birthday cake slices for an impromptu celebration. They came and checked in very often- all very courteous, warm, accommodating, and professional. They went beyond the call of duty. I would highly recommend this place particularly because of the great customer service and ambience.

Had a 1 night stay with my husband for our anniversary. Rooms were very clean, loved the Tudor vibe. Staff were really friendly, even though they were busy with guests coming in for a wedding. All Covid protocols were in place, and it was a relaxing place to stay. We will definitely be celebrating there again.

Attended a conference here the other day and I gotta say it was absolutely lovely. I love old mills, I loved the rustic vibe. The food and the staff services were really good as well. They had this garden they called the Wedding garden. I thought it was wonderful.

The hotel itself is nice, I chose it because I like quirky places, however, instead of feeling quirky and old school, it felt dated and the furniture like it smelled (it didn’t, it just looks like that lol) also, the fireplace didn’t work in our room which was a bummer. Staff was super not friendly. It wasn’t awful, just not worth the price point considering it’s 40 min away from downtown with nothing of interest nearby.

Beautiful hotel - feels like an European cottage getaway! Really nice place for wedding and other ceremonies. Establishment is well maintained and has good service. I just wish there was something connecting the event hall to the hotel, as I had to walk on the street to get back and forth each time.

I give 5 stars because Unlike most hotels AC in Old Mill works silently. You can adjust your desired temperature with absolute no noise pollution. This hotel has beautiful Cozy clean rooms with relaxing ambiance. Unlike other hotels, no business stressful people would run up and down. I suggest the luxury room with king size bed and jacuzzi but the standard rooms are the same minus jacuzzi and extra space. I could stay there forever.

Absolutely gorgeous Hotel located right at a subway stop in the west end of Toronto. If you want to stay at a hotel with its own personality, this is the best option in the city. The grounds are beautiful, green and airy with stone paths and steps. Perfectly maintained and well cared for gardens. Interiors with exposed stone and wooden beams. Thoughtfully decorated and meticulously cleaned.

Afternoon tea during Christmas season was very festive and fun. The room was expansive and nicely decorated for the season. Great selection of teas and presentation of the edibles was fresh and tasty. Had my granddaughter and friends with us and felt very comfortable at the table.

Nicely calming complex in the middle of all the hustle and bustle Toronto is! Great setting, decor, large rooms, fireplace, wonderful food, and romantic feel, you get it all at this place. Attended the New Year's party, entertainment was great, food delicious from many choices to satisfy any preferences, wish could stay extra day!

Absolutely LOVED staying here over the New Year! Our suite was absolutely perfect, the room service was phenomenal, and the scenery was just perfection. My husband and I literally sat in the window drinking espresso taking in the beauty of the architecture of this hotel. Will definitely be returning!

We had the festive brunch and it was good. Had a good time. Ambiance was great and the food was awesome. Maybe a live cooking station will be a great addition but it is still good as it is. The neighborhood was great for pictures as well.

Horrible! We arrived and checked in only to find out that everything was closed. The Spa ..closed..restaurant..closed..AND they were going to shut off the water the next day! Had they communicated this on their website or sent us an e mail we would have gone.elsewhere. now we paid their high rates for a wasted July 4th weekend and we had to scramble to find another place. The manager never called nor did they even apologize for their POOR management and lack of communication. Luckily we found the Glenerin Inn ..go there instead.

I went for high tea. The location and restaurant are beautiful. The service and food were great. We had one guest with several dietary restrictions and they were able to accommodate them. We gave advance notice and did not have to remind them. They made her comfortable and checked that all was well. The staff was attentive and kind.

Had a nice three night stay here. Clean, comfortable room with a good bed and tub. I was disappointed in the housekeeping while there. I'd asked for them to come every morning, but cancelled on the first morning. Had been looking forward to returning to a fresh room after a long day of work, and instead found zero service or replenishment. The night manager, Michael was outstanding and helped solve a problem that came up.

This is one of the oldest most Historic building still standing in Toronto, sadly everything else has been demolished, repaired or replaced. I've always enjoyed my visits here, weather it's for dinner, spa day, a wedding reception or just to spend some time in the courtyard. Every season the property is picturesque. My friend and I enjoyed a summer Salsa night out and dinner at the restaurant this time and everything was 11 out of 10. Sign up for their news letter which has details of their upcoming events and check The Old Mill out, it's warranted a visit.

Excellent experience at The Old Mill! The room and food were outstanding to say the least. The staff was top shelf...polite, courteous and went above and beyond to make our event memorable. Thank you to Rita in,Sales and Catering for arranging such a perfect day for us! I would have given 6 stars!!!!

Beautiful building, and awesome food! I was there for dinner Christmas day. The roast beef was the best I've ever had (which says a lot). As a nurse, I appreciate how strict they are with controlling the number of people entering the buffet, and ensuring people sanitize their hands and don 2 disposable gloves. The wait staff were very attentive and kind. They ensured parties were seated further away, following physical distancing. We were seated at a corner away from others, but close to the buffet, which was really nice.

I love the place, very spacious and clean. But….Careful about your valuable things. Outsiders took my iPhone mini. And we trace it, using find my iPhone. Good that we find the guy who took my phone. Lesson, don’t get drunk too much. Lol

My two siblings and I planned a Sisters weekend at the Old Mill and had a great time. The Spa has a wide menu of services that helped with our plans to relax! The Old Mill has beautiful and well maintained grounds. The charming exterior definitely feels like you’re out of the city and their are many pretty views from inside and out. Adjacent to the grounds is a city park with walkways and cycle paths. We even saw a deer on our mid-afternoon walk! Bikes are available to rent from the city or Hotel. We appreciated that the room had a separate sitting area and also a jacuzzi in the spacious bathroom. We did have a plumbing issue which the hotel staff worked quickly to resolve. Parking was also hassle free right next to the Old Mill. Special thank you to Gavin and Sam at the front desk for the flexibility and assistance with anything we needed. If you’re looking for a quick girls getaway I highly recommend. Not to mention you’re a short drive from Sherway Gardens if you enjoy shopping!

Such an amazing and historical place. Other than fabulous rooms, food, services and amenities you receive some of the most pleasant and polite staff I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Better than a 5 star resort

  • 4/5 Michael J. 2 years ago on Google
It was alright, I like that it's more casual than the history of the building would suggest. However the food was just ok, nothing special. My steak wasn't seasoned for instance, but the truffle fries were good. Great ambiance does help though.

My friends and I tried the High tea experience, everything was very tasty and the service incredible! The only thing was the timing... 2 hours weren't enough to eat, chat and enjoy all the different flavors.

Spent the night here after my wedding. The place and room was beyond beautiful. Excellent and speedy room service. The only negative is for the price they don't have much in the way of amenities and the room is pretty basic. The jacuzzi was really nice tho.

Brunch buffet was better than what I expected. Many options and not so crowded. We paid 45$/ person plus tax and I think that is very good price. Suitable for family and group of friends. I will come back summer and will try their high tea menu.

This was my first visit after a long break to the Jazz series at the Old Mill. Beautiful quaint setting, reminded me of the old time Jazz clubs with the dim lighting on the tables. It was an excellent performance; enjoyed two long sets with great music. My wife and I ordered a bottle of wine which I found very reasonably priced for the quality. The charcuterie board was a fantastic presentation. The main menu offers were what you would expect from such a venue. We saw so many different choices served at different tables, it was a nice surprise. We saw some familiar faces and appreciate that their is still a place like this in Toronto where good Jazz music can be appreciated. The service was good and attentive, the food was tasty and Jazz night is awesome. I cannot wait to return next week.

I had such an amazing experience, the staff is highly professional and friendly. Rooms was clean and Jacuzzi was amazing. There is a beautiful trail near by for a good walk and beautiful view. However, if you are going for a massage, I do not recommend the relaxation massage, not worth it. I honestly wasn't that pleased with spa service.

I really enjoyed the room and the overall ambiance of the historic building. The room was tastefully designed and very comfortable. Unfortunately the bar and restaurant were closed but that was due to regulations. The room service dinner was good, but the breakfast was excellent! If you are looking fora local getaway this is an amazing option!

Just getting there was chaotic. A number of functions being held at the same time. Parking is at a premium. The interior of the building was clean an well maintained. That was my first time being, doubt whether or not I will go again.

We like that it feels like you're in the country but 10 minutes from downtown Toronto. Nice rooms and staff was friendly and helpful, also gave us a bottle of their own label wine, which was pretty good. Originally wasn't thrilled about the parking garage across the street but grew to love the fact that our car was in a secure area. We stayed 2 nights Sunday and Monday to celebrate my wife's 50th Birthday and wasn't very busy and made it really nice!!

Beautiful, boutique hotel that was a delight to stay in! The staff are so friendly and made our stay extra special. The room was spacious (yet cozy) and very clean. It provided a beautiful backdrop for my "getting ready" wedding photos. My husband and I are looking forward to staying here again on our one-year anniversary (we even saved the complimentary wine to open next year!).

Our stay was amazing! All of the staff at The Old Mill are amazing! The food was great! I met pastry chef Luciana Cuello and had the opportunity to speak with her about the sweets that are created there. The spa, the dining, the grounds and surrounding nature area was a nice getaway. Irene (front of house) was such a pleasure to chat with. We could have talked each other’s ears off! 😊 A big shout out to The Old Mill! Thank you for a great first experience!! I will be back!

We got married here 22 years ago and this place keeps getting better. The restaurant is great for groups or private dining. The rooms are nice and the spa is a great addition to this property that will seemingly out live us all 😀

Spacious rooms with big jetted tub. Beautiful building and grounds. Nice quiet ambiance. Interesting neighborhood to wander around. There was no conditioner in the bathroom which I thought strange, but nice toiletries overall.Dinner at the restaurant was average at best. The service was slow and the salmon was dry. There was no doorman when we arrived so were not sure where to park the car. There is paid parking in a lot across the street, but found out that there was guest parking in the garage of the condo across the street. It would have been handy to know that before parking in the lot across the street. Overall it was a pleasant stay at a unique hotel.

Beautiful building but NO Elevator, which was a bit of an issue for some. Enjoyed a beautiful Celebration of Life of a very good friend. The set up was perfect, the food delicious and the drinks welcomed. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. ❤

Way over rated. Went there for a special milestone birthday, gifted by our kids. They were asked to bring a special birthday plate ahead of time. Never mind the plate, no one even mentioned the birthday. Took them forever to figure out how to use the E gift card. Asked for vegan menu, they catered but very limited choice. I saw other tables with overflowing plates. They could have added more items on our vegan trays. If you can't come up with more vegan choices , atleast add more of the same . All in all, below average .
