A visit and a presentation by Mr. Méchin of his number of machines and printing techniques, in this well-filled room. A great passionate enthusiast. A world that's hard to access when you're not interested in it, but for others, it's a treat. I didn't see the time passing. THANKS !

Place where a lot of objects related to typography are stored. The person who runs this place is passionate and has made a living from this art. He will happily explain how the machines work. Access is free but to help this gentleman run this place, you can buy him bookmarks or postcards. A great discovery.

An impressive little museum dedicated to typography but not only. Rich and complete collection on the entire world of prints, introduction to various printing processes of yesteryear. Workshop atmosphere.

The artist-guide is very knowledgeable. I learned a lot even though I don't speak French and he only spoke French. The love for his art shines through the language barrier

Muriel (who is a man and not a woman) welcomed us warmly into her workshop full of beautiful & curious works. Of course, we didn't expect such an organization of a typography "museum" but we were pleasantly surprised by the stories & anecdotes told by Muriel (who is a man) :D His jokes will make young and old laugh! (Entry is free but be careful, compulsive buyers refrain!) However ! An underlying discomfort did not make the visit pleasant & lengthened it by at least 1/2 century. It would have been wise to bring more lightness between an ampersand & a printing of documents... Expect to receive comments on your General Culture, especially on people who died in remote cemeteries, such as Leonardo da Vinci (not the highways) buried in Amboise. Study before coming, otherwise you will appear uneducated!!! If you continued your studies after 14, beware! If you still have a flip phone THAT TAKES PICTURES, bring it!!! He will be delighted :D Don't come if you are not French, no translation available unless you know how to decipher the Rosetta Stone (like sausage, yes)! If you have some Typography wood to spare, bring it back! He will love it! Expect a depressing ending based on loneliness & death: advice to depressed people, plan in advance a session with your psychologist before & after the visit, with Xanax in addition... If it's closed & the lights are off, WAIT! The typographer arrives. When ? We don't know :D WE WARMLY RECOMMEND THIS GUIDED TOUR FOR YOUR CULTURE (you will die less stupid... but hey, YOU WILL STILL DIE :))) Thank you Muriel (who is a woman....) (HE NO I'M JOKING, it's a man of course!) We loved this visit, we appreciated this passion of yours for typography & ampersands! xoxo:*

A small but old printing shop and museum. You can still experience printing paper and prints using the traditional method.

A great enthusiast with super generosity. A magnificent place where you can discover many things about the history of typography. A place full of beautiful, rare things! I highly recommend, for a good cultural time! A stone's throw from the city center and easy to access.

Let me tell you about an unforgettable experience I had at the Typography Museum in Tours. If you are looking for a journey through time to the heart of the art of printing, then you have come to the right place! This museum, presented by a most charming and humorous old gentleman, is a real rare gem. From the moment I walked through the doors of the museum, I was greeted by a warm atmosphere and an intoxicating smell of fresh ink. The old gentleman who runs this association is a veritable living encyclopedia of typography. His knowledge is immense, but what really sets him apart is his contagious passion for this ancestral art. During the visit, Mr Muriel took us on a fascinating journey through the history of printing. He introduced us to beautifully preserved antique presses, exquisite typefaces and overly funny illustrations. Each piece was accompanied by juicy anecdotes and fascinating stories. He did not just describe printing techniques to us, he transported us to a universe where each letter, each sign was charged with meaning and emotion. What impressed me the most was the way Muriel made us understand the importance of typography in preserving our cultural heritage. He reminded us that each typographer was a true artisan, a wordsmith, bringing to life the ideas and thoughts of the authors. Thanks to him, I became aware of the richness and beauty of this often overlooked art.

Veramente incredibile 😃
