Being from Seattle, Washington, we have the Pike Street Market (PSM) - Les Halles de Tours is PSM Extraordinaire!!! If I lived in Tours, I would have the most spectacular ingredients to prepare the most delicious meals...and the patisseries & boulangeries are simply heavenly!

What a great find on a Tuesday morning! The best way to enjoy the Halles is to walk into it and take a whiff of every stand. Food is artfully highlighted. Beef, veal, poultry are respectfully displayed. Cheeses galore almost got me drunk just smelling them all! So now it's your turn to visit the halles in Tours and its surrounding..... It is quite a beautiful town!

I want to come back and spend more time here! An amazing collection of pâtisseries, boulangeries, charcuteries, boucheries, clothing shops, and cafés. Tours is amazing as a whole, but if it's a rainy day, Les Halles will be a fun way to avoid the raindrops!

Variety of great cheese shops and butchers here, and a good bakery too. We stayed in Tours for a week and really enjoyed getting ingredients here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Might seem expensive but in fact much better food than you'd get when going to a restaurant and paying two or three times as much. Lots of things were delicious, but special mention to the fruit jelly at one of the cheese shops (apricot with herbs was phenomenal) and to the rabbit and duck sausages. Very friendly service at most of the shops, too. (I've just been out to dinner in Lyon, famous gastronomical city, and I wish I could take the money back and spend it here instead, whip up dinner myself.)

Beautiful food and plenty of it. We visited on a rainy day so there was no space outside to go for a gourmet picnic.

What a nice local market! Favourite has got to be eating mussels off the counter. Paired with white wine, yum yum. You can have Parma ham off the counter too. I’d recommend the oysters, Parma ham stall on the sides and roasted food stall somwhere in the middle. Glad to have met very pleasant and friendly French people here too! There is an outdoor and indoor area to the market, the outdoor area is only available on Sunday…might be wrong.

The cheese shop, baker's and wine shop, that are the reasons to go to Les Halles de Tours. And do not pass the 'yellow' chocolatier without entering and buying.

A wonderful covered market in Tours. Don’t let the business type look of the building deter you from going inside.

The building itself is of poor architecture in a city of dozens of fine structures. However, the produce on display makes up for any shortcomings.

The place is quite nice for cheese, meat, ham and sausages. However le veggies are not the freshest and prices are steep...

Nice market, but many stalls were closed in July and there were no tables for eating / drinking - what you buy, you take with you. Perhaps I'm spoiled from markets in Spain (and elsewhere) where you can purchase and eat at the market.

Just fantastic. A superb collection of food, drink, cheese, bread, fish, meat all under 1 roof. An added bonus is on Saturday there is a big market around the building on the outside as well. Go look, it's brill.

Such a cool farmers market. Great to stop by on your way to a chateau or vineyard for picnic supplies. Highly recommend the local cheese

Very upmarket market lol. The merchandise looked fantastic and beautifully displayed and excellent quality just a bit pricey. Not the market I was expecting but still worth a visit if only for the experience.

Wonderful place as are all the French Halles we have visited, food displayed was out of this world but the major drawback is that there is nowhere to sit and eat any food you may buy, unlike the other Halles we visited.
