A beautiful gate leading onto a nice street filled with government buildings. The gate is worth looking at in its own right, however it leads on to a great street with a number of buildings modelled on ancient Persian architecture.

Inside it, buildings such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, the National Library and the Museum of Ancient Iran have been built. Beautiful old lady standing there long time but still charming and cheerful. It stands between super crowded streets in tehran city center and stilly, restful old buildings area with his heavy gates. It was turbulent and noisy field for years with name of “Meidan-e Mashq” which it means open shooting range field. Worth to give a time and visit this area. Be careful that many ministers buildings there and sometimes this area is closed and forbidden to foto-shoot🤷🏼‍♂️

Sardare Baghe Melli means The Gate of the Public Garden and it is one of the Famous landmarks of Tehran in historical area of the capital. it was built during Qajars and it still has the name of Reza Khan( Next Reza Shah) on it before he establishes the Pahvali Dynasty. You can see different symbols of Iran in that period like soldiers, Cannons, flag and the symbol of lion and sun. There is a Room at top of the gate which has a good view to all the Square. check my pictures that are taken from that room

You can feel Tehran half a century ago when you walk here. It's near Bazzar and some other historical sites in Tehran. Don't miss walking in this place and taking unforgatable photos.

This gate was built in order to enter Mashakh Square during the time of Feth Ali Shah Qajar and it was called "Mashakh Square Gate". Mashakh Square was one of the largest military squares in Tehran and was under the control of the Shahneshahi army. After the construction of this gate, it was planned to establish the first public garden of the capital called "Meli Garden" in the inner lands of Masakh Square, and after that the name of this gate was changed to "Sardar Bagh Meli". The national garden did not last more than a few years; However, with the construction of many buildings such as the National Library, the Museum of Ancient Iran and the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this headland is called "Meli Garden Headland". Currently, there is nothing left of Masakh square and only its main building remains.

The National Garden (Persian: باغ ملی‎, Bāq-e Melli) or Ministry of Foreign Affairs Gate is a historical and governmental compound in Tehran, Iran. Formerly referred to as the Parade Square (Persian: میدان مشق‎, Meydān-e Mashq) (میدان رژه, Meydān-e Rezhe), it used to be a military shooting range during the Qajar period. It was then turned into a public park for a short period, and eventually important governmental offices and museums were built around it.[1] Building number 9 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (formerly the "Police House"), the University of Art (formerly the "Cossack House"), Malek National Museum, Post and Communication Museum, and the National Museum are situated in the compound.

lovely place The gate of the national garden (Sardar-e-Bagh-e-Melli) is a magnificent brick gate, decorated with colorful tiles and multiple inscriptions. It is one of ancient symbols of Tehran and had been built under direct order of Reza Shah by Jafar Khan Kashan Kashani cooperated directly with German architects and they used Iranian –European architectural styles especially in tile works and Kolah Farangi (kiosk) designs from 1922 to 1925. The structure of "Mashq Square Gate” was built as a gateway to the Mashq Square at a military area. Army was mainly in charge of the are. Shortly after building the gate, the first public garden entitled "National Garden" was founded in the ground of Mashq Square and renamed to "The Gate of National Garde". In the upper part of the building, monitoring station, naccaire (naqareh) platform and the armed forces passage has been designe. The Gate of National Garden has a gateway for car pass and two lanes for pedestrian. Today, there are several buildings, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (the east side), the National Library and National Museum of Iran and the Post office on the west side of this ara.

Sardar Bagh Melli is one of the buildings left over from the Qajar period, which was renovated in 1301 to 1304 by Hossein Ali Beik Tehrani and is now one of the symbols of Tehran. It is located outside and on the west side of the Post and Telegraph Museum. Before the foundation of Azadi Tower, this gate was known as the symbol of Tehran.

Hello, if you are on your way to Imam Khomeini street in Tehran, don't forget that Sardarbagh National Garden really has its own beauty. The surroundings of the National Garden are very beautiful, and there is a library called Malik in the garden, which is full of good and valuable books. The construction of this building goes back to the Qajar period and it is considered one of the most important historical monuments of Tehran.
