Found a Sicilian restaurant in Venice (probably the only one). The food was like my Sicilian grandmother would make. The owner, Marco (from Palermo), has put his heart into this place to give patrons that wonderful feeling of sitting around a table to enjoy good food and conversation. When I told him my grandmother was from Palermo his eyes lit up... which made our experience that much better. Love in every delicious bite and you leave feeling like family :-)

Last summer I had the pleasure of being in Venice, and with friends went out to dinner here on their recommendation. What an inspired idea- warmth and friendliness are this restaurant's impressive qualities, exemplified in its wonderful owner. The food is exquisite and well-priced, and the atmosphere delightful. An authentic tribute to honest Sicilian cooking, and a gem in any city's crown. I shall endeavour to return!

By far my favorite place in Venice. The cannoli is freshly made and out of this world, the fish is fresh and the menu changes each day to reflect the freshest and homemade ingredients. The staff is lovely and the prices are excellent. Highly recommend.

We were blown away with our experience at Bacarretto. Marco was the best host and server, and kept everyone happy and entertained even when he was down a few staff that evening. The food is amazing and the prices are fair. We started with arrancinetti, and both types we tried were wonderful and the perfect way to start. We also ordered two pastas that were so good we ended up ordering a third to share so we could try all three. Everything was amazing but the star was the Pasta Alla Norma. The pastas were each around €13. The desserts were also delicious - both the cassatina and the cannoli were wonderful.

On our last night in Venice, we wanted something different. We found it here. Traditional Sicilian food, very different to the Venetian cuisine and tourist traps around. This is an authentic, family run business who create delicious food from a small menu. The owner is friendly and welcoming, providing detailed information about the menu. All dishes were delicious, especially the baked pasta and dessert. Highly recommended for people looking for authentic food among the tourist traps!!

Such a great first dinner in Venice! The food was spectacular and the owner was so pleasant and really took care of us. We ordered the stuffed sardines, mixed basket of fried appetizers, and the seafood linguini. The owner suggested a bottle of 2016 red wine and a little moscato to finish the meal. Such a great experience and I highly recommend eating here

My girlfriend and I had an AMAZING experience at this place. The menu may seem small but each dish is crafted perfectly. They are all Sicilian recipes that have been passed down generations. The owner was incredibly personable and made elevated experience that much more. We are glad to have found this place and look forward to eventually coming back.

Hospitality has a new name and its name is Marco! What a wonderful host and exquisit dining experience. Everyone is welcomed by their first name and Marco introduced himself and his sister Carla. Reservation is a must but can easily be done a day before. We had the Pasta Alla Norma and the Anelletti Al Forno - both were really nice. But the absolut highlight was the dessert: you have to try the Cannolo (and the Cassatini which I made by Carla). The Riccotta comes from Palermo and it's wonderful. This is a very small place and every seat was taken, yet Marco took time and chatted with everyone and was genuinely interested in each and everyone. It was a wonderful evening. I will make sure to visit again when I come back to Venice!

Absolutely amazing! Went there for dinner spontaneously without any reservations. They were very friendly and explained the food ( as we were curious about Sicilian cuisine). Try the mixed platter appetiser.

I had dinner in this restaurant around December of 2022. I had the best ever experience, not only in all of Venice but in all of the world. It is a family-owned restaurant. I talked to the owner, who was very caring for all of his customers. He transmitted to my partner and I his vibrant passion for the Sicilian cuisine which I could finally appreciate on the delicious food provided to us. I come from Spain, but Italian cuisine as well as most of the Mediterranean cuisine, are very dear to my heart. Every bite brought me back memories from my childhood and the traditional food that my grandma would cook. There is something about grandmas food that one cannot forget so easily. Truly delicious, I can’t complaint about it. They have all of my respect. It was truly an unforgettable experience from the first step you make inside this restaurant until you leave. The owner as well as the staff gave my partner and I the best service of our entire lives. When we were leaving, the owner accompanied us to the door and shakes our hands. He is also very open minded. Apart from Italian, he also speaks English and Spanish very well (I’m not sure if he knows of more language than this) which made us feel very welcomed. Thank you very much for the unforgettable experience. I will never forget this. This is not only food that you’re providing, but also the passion, love, thoughtfulness and happiness that you put into it. Grazie mile!!!

On our last day in the city we found this fabulous hidden Sicilian gem whose owner hails from Palermo. The online menu changes rapidly depending on what fresh food is available and we were presented with QR codes for WiFi and updated menu on arrival. We chose the sfincionello (small focaccia with tomato and anchovies) and the parmagiana and a bottle each of Semedorato's rosso and Minchia Tosta doppio. For mains the brazini with delicious caramelised cipolia Calabrese and the calamari ripieni stuffed with flavoured breadcrumbs, both cooked with care and clearly much love. I had just room for cannolo afterwards and regret turning down the recommended caramelised orange for pistachio. Of course the chef's suggestion was perfect and only 50% of the ricotta had been covered with nuts so I could learn from my error. Worth booking and hope you have as enjoyable and evening as we did.

Small menu but excellent ingredients prepared to perfection. The restaurant is also not very big but the service and attention to detail are top notch. Very affordable not only for Venice. The frito Misto and the tuna was sublime.

Incredible food - very different than the Northern Italian food elsewhere here. We loved the Canolo for desert, the fried mixed plate, and all the pasta was al dente and perfect.

Marco's restaurant is one of the best I have tried in any trip I have made to Italy. (Additionally, I say this after having traveled through Tuscany and Parma on this trip.) It is challenging in Venice to find an authentic experience because the city is so touristic, but this restaurant will not disappoint. The family recipes are delicious. Marco takes great pride in his restaurant and in his family's recipes. We tried 5 items on the menu, each one was incredible. The wine was fabulous. Thank you, Marco!

The service and vibe there are good! The Focaccia is really delicious - well flavored, and also soft and crispy at the same time. The sword fish with a special sweet and sour onion toppings is refreshing and amazing.

My wife and I had dinner here as a an unplanned short notice decision upon arriving to Venice. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Out of this world dishes with amazing flavor, all from a small menu of authentic, Sicilian family recipes. The owner, Marco, and his staff were wonderful people. A true hidden gem if there ever was one. The Cannolo was the best dessert I’ve ever eaten, and my wife had the marzipan cake(both pictured). Do yourself a favor and go here.

We had lunch here today and it was just INSANELY good. I hope you understand, how hard it is for a restqurant to stand out in Italy, considering everything here is so good, fresh and delicious. Our waiter was amazing, super friendly and helpful. We had sizzling pasta and the Sicilian cannolis. Pasta was increidbly flavourful. And cannolis had perfect shell consistency and super fresh ricotta. 100 out of 100 to this place!

This place is hands down the best place I have had for Italian food being in Venice. I The owner Marco is super nice and accommodating with what you want. He gives so much care and attention to his customers which really shows in the food. We didn't have a reservation but they were still about to seat us and more people as well. You will not be disappointed when you visit this place. Go here for the food and even better service from someone that cares about his customers.

Great food, great service! Sat outside in the middle of November and it was perfect. Food is simple and home made in all the best ways - saturated with taste and comfort. The waiter was lovely and the owner was welcoming and a nice add on for the experience. Recommend for a cosy night with honest food :)

Five stars for food and service. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Not super touristic but one of those charming restaurants serving exceptionally flavored food from a passionate chef.

Funny story about this place. On the second night I was in Venice, me and a few other solo travels staying at the place I was at told me that apparently this place was known for their cannolis. We went there that night and they were indeed phenomenal. Granted this was only my second night here so I certainly didn’t declare this as the best cannoli I’ve had in Venice. Fast forward nearly four weeks (yes, I’ve been for that long) and still tried to find an overall go to favourite restaurant and indeed, best cannoli. Long story short, this is it, and now ready to say one of the best all round restaurants I’ve found in Venice. First off, if you’re looking for a hidden, out of the hustle and bustle tourist trap restaurants of Venice, this should be at the top of your list. Small place, small menu and what they do they do very well. Which brings me to the cannolis. Hands down the best, freshest cannolis I found. They they’re made to order and certainly worth every second of the wait. Never came across any other restaurant that does this. When I first went here, we navigated to it at night and on somebody else’s phone, so I had no idea where it was or what it was even called and I’ve literally been spending the past few weeks trying to find it again and lo and behold, on my second to last day here, I finally found it. Once again had a phenomenal meal, phenomenal cannoli and even sat with the owner Marco and told him this very story and talked about our family lineage and how he was passed down the cannoli recipe from his Sicilian mother and all about the restaurant, Venice and indeed the cannolis. This alone was one of the highlights of my trip here. Grazie mille ancora Marco and I hope as many other people are possible see this and experience the same.

Everything about Marco's restaurant is fantastic. There was a great, fun atmosphere with delicious food. It was me and my wife's favorite meal during our 10 day vacation in Italy. If we hadn't discovered it on our last night in Venice we would have gone back again the following night. The menu changes daily so your experience will be unique.

One of the best culinary experiences we had in Venice. Small, family owned lovely restaurant with just right food and friendly service. Pasta dishes were very good, with careful choice of ingredients and unmistakable cooking.

Best restaurant experience in Italy in over seven weeks travelling! Great food combined with outstanding service. You can feel the passion and love that goes into running the place. They even gave our friends that didn't order anything two shots. On top of that the prices are great for Venetian levels. I highly recommend you paying them a visit if you have the chance!

A taste of Sicily! We had been all over Sicily years ago and loved everything we ate there so this place just hit the spot. Everything was so delicious, I would recommend this place to anyone! I especially loved my pasta with fennel and sardines. The grilled sea bream was like no other and the fried rice ball was so fresh. Makes me want to go back to Sicily now. Go early because this place gets packed fast!

👍👍 The best pizza I’ve ever eaten & my family too. It’s all about the pizza base - they mastered it. 😍 Price is very reasonable. Great ambience. Long queues so worth booking for dinner.
