👍 The airplanes are much less than years ago maybe due to the COVID. The spot is always good to have a rest and watch planes taking off and landing. Remember to take binoculars if you have. There are rubbish bins, but no toilets. Do not drink to much water.

👍👍 A short ferry ride from Auckland ferry terminals (Rangitoto terminal not so easy to find without asking) $45AUD approx return trip and then hike up to summit for amazing views. Some quite demanding steep slopes but interesting scenery all around, from scrub to 600yr old volcanic rock, semi tropica...

Mount Roskill

👍👍 This is a very nice summit in the area, on whose name the suburban area is named. It is one of many such summits in the Auckland region. The road to the top is nicely maintained and gentle climbing. A few car parks are available on the summit. There are a couple of art installations on the top which...

👍👍 Beautiful mountain reserve. Stunning views from the top, fairly easy walk which takes approximately 15mins to reach the summit. Quiet reserve not many tourists frequent here. 👍👍 A “must-do” little hike for the views up to Tasman Lookout when you visit Piha Beach. It’s only 20 minutes or less up the trail from the end of the parking lot on the South end of Piha Beach to the lookout. Beautiful views from there of the beaches, the ocean, the town of Piha and the surrounding mo...

Pukematekeo Lookout
Scenic spot
👍👍 FYI! It has two one way roads, one on either side of the hill so you will likely find the entrance before it says you have arrived in maps. Almost looks like someone’s driveway with a gate on it. Once your up there it’s a awesome look out, you can see up to all the west coast beaches and all the way...

Lucas Creek Waterfall

👍 Guys, this is a sweet spot for a short walk, picnic and play. If you can go over the bridge towards Albany Heights, as soon as you cross the little bridge there's a concealed entry on the left side which you can drive along a short bit to the entrance to the trail, back entrance. Better than the map...
