Best places: Fortresses in Mangalia, Romania

👍👍 I have been there a few day before. It was a cold -5°C day. The wind made it more terrible, but letting all that aside i got to understand the beauty and the importance of this military compound! It was a harsh job to do, on a beautiful place. I wish the Romanian state would try to preserve it more....

👍 Mentioned by the roman poet Publius Ovidius Naso, the ruins of Aegyssus are situated on the Monument Hill, Tulcea. The roman settlement and fortification, parts of which are visible today, have been inhabited from the 1st to 7th century AD. This archaeological site is currently being researched.

😐 I gave 3 stars for the beauty of the place. Apart from a hill, you have nothing to see. The walls were covered with earth. The GPS shows you the exact position. Pay close attention to the road, on the last kilometer lower cars may have problems.
