Location is good but I cannot recommend due to poor hygiene. No cleaners during a 4 day stay so I have to take all the garbage out myself... the room is starting to stink and there's really not space for that much trash. I hope the new Amrath owners are aware of the importance of cleanliness in a nice hotel. It won't matter to me since I will not stay at this dump again 🤮

Book and stayed at this hotel over 3 weeks ago, for 3N/4D period. Hotel is located in the outskirts of Amersfoort in a beautiful wood area. Upon arrival we had an excellent check in. Did not like the first room and asked for an upgrade. Second room assigned was with defects when we finally checked in a small roof top room. Nicely decorated. Unfortunately their housekeeping department is a total mess, room was never cleaned properly, light in the shower out of order and after many reminders fixed. Safe wasn’t working. Breakfast is good, the buffet is well stocked as long there are ongoing conferences, we stayed in that period and over the weekend without meetings when the buffet suddenly halved in offer and only one staff on duty. We had one dinner in their dining room which as excellent. Free parking and good WiFi signal. Too much happened to us and we won’t return.

We stayed here as part of a tour, Fantastic location our room was overlooking the car park so it was lovely and quiet and the black out curtains made it nice and dark. Very comfortable beds made it difficult to get up in the mornings. Coffee machine was put to great use. All the staff were lovely and very helpful we ate some fantastic food and enjoyed some local beer. Breakfast was outstanding lots of choice from cold meats to boiled and scrambled eggs. Bonus to find free tea, coffee and chilled water available anytime opposite reception with the added bonus of very tasty biscuits as well as very addictive sweets, liked the strawberry ones the best. Wish we could have stayed for longer to explore the local area.

I saw a few rooms when I booked a room, but I wrote what I saw. The room was small, very dark and not clean. The dirt on the walls and television was really serious and not to ignore it. The shower usually sometimes gets cold water, but here we got very hot water that you get burned from it! The breakfast was not cheap and there were very few options... The restaurants were very clean and had very nice food we enjoyed it. And they have a very nice lobby with free drinks and some sweet things

Bad stay: too expensive for the poorness of the bedroom and the lack of education at the restaurant, which was also too expensive and where you have to pay a separate bill because the two systems of hotel & restaurant don't talk to each other. In what century is this hotel located? They have to renew the structure and the basic politeness at the restaurant. A loss of time, comfort and money.

Super hotel in a lovely location. Warm welcome and very attentive and friendly staff for the duration of our stay. Clean and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast and hotel bar/ restaurant served great food!

Nice hotel, 15 walking from Amersfoort central Station. The single room is cozy like home, breakfast is fine, wifi is good, specially you can mirror link to TV from own mobile phone 🙂

Couldn't fault the hotel other than one little thing. We went with a coach trip. There was only one choice of meal for dinner and we felt there should have been an alternative, my husband doesn't like curry. To their credit though, they left the curry sauce off his meal and he enjoyed it.

Poor repair in room. Curtains hanging off rail in room 201. Dusty bedside cabinets. Very brown staining down the toilet. Silverfish bugs in shower room. Basic hotel to say the least. Breakfast was average.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Sure, recognizing it as one of the more expensive hotels in Amersfoort, I can assure you that the price is worth it. Value is not just in quality of the accommodations, and restaurant (both of which are excellent), but also in the culture and care of the hotel management and staff. I am an expat from the US who was on a temporary professional assignment for one year, and I happened to arrive in the middle of the second wave of the pandemic at the end of 2021. My situation was unique, and I could not find a single place to live in Amersfoort, which is where I needed to be for my job. The hotel worked with me in ways that are completely incredible, and we co-created a long-stay agreement. The willingness of the staff to work with me, and their care and frequent checking in to assure that I felt welcome and secure made all of the difference for me; turning a dismal situation into a phenomenal experience. The Berghotel staff feels a bit like family to me at this point, having literally lived here for 13 months. While not actually family, I do consider a number of the staff among my friends, albeit distant ones as I am returning to my home. I will most definitely be back to the Netherlands, and Amersfoort ... and when I am here, I will stay at the Berghotel without question. The warmth and professionalism, as well as the well-cared for and comfortable accommodations will always draw me back when I have the opportunity to stay again. Please trust when I say that you cannot go wrong with the Amersfoort Berghotel. There is a good reason why it is the oldest and most established hotel in the city ... even if you just dine in the restaurant for one evening, you will experience a piece of what I have written here.

Great little hotel and conference venue not too far from Amersfoort station. Friendly staff and clean, well-appointed rooms. Rates are respectable but remember that breakfast is usually not included (but worth the 13 Euro extra). Unusually, the reception is not right in front, so just follow the signs..

Nice surroundings, lots of green, free parking. It is considerate that thy offer Hair styling spray n free tampon in de lady's WC.

Enjoyed our recent stay as part of our coach tour holiday. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Super breakfast buffet.

Worst hotel experience to date. Hygiene is not their concern. I had to change 4 rooms in my first night there as the beds were all dirty. I never thought you can walk into a hotel room with a clean label and see dirty sheets. I was told the manager would address this the next day but I never heard from anyone while I was there for 3 more nights. The restaurant messed up the food and only brought the fish on my plate while everyone else also had potatoes. When my room card wouldn’t work I found out that someone messed up the check-out date for my room even thought we were there in a group of more than 30 people for the same interval. I would strongly suggest spending your money elsewhere. I honestly considered leaving early but I was there for a company event.

I didn't come here for the "hotel" part i just went here with my mom to go get a drink, terrace is nice could use some more shadow because it was HOT today. And the employees are really nice me (13) and my little brother (8) went inside to take a look, a girl came up to us saying Hello can I help you with anything? She smiled i just said no we were just taking a look. Ok she said lol. And I threw water on my head some guy that was working there just laughed lol. And I know this review isnt the easiest to understand but I'm still learning English so this was done entirely without translation.

Stayed twice..food extremely bad..first time a curry worth 2 euro in terms of ingredients costing 23 euro, leaving me and my gusts amazed. The second visit thought I would be safe with a burger, in which half of it was completely raw. Staff didn’t care! Charged 23 euro for that as well! Fresh bread brought to me with a fly on! Not staying again on my fortnightly visits through work. Sad.

Wonderful wonderful hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean, the bathroom is clean, shower works perfectly, and some amenities are provided. Sleeping is okay - the beds were a little hard for my liking, and despite windows being completely shut, you can hear noise from the outdoor restaurant area. For food, they have their own restaurant, and the food was great though a little pricey, however that is due to your food getting the best special attention. There's a wonderful meat and vegetarian selection, and their cheesecake was delightful. Service was slow, and we had to walk up to them to ask for service several times, however I know that slow service is common around here. Breakfast was fab. There was a huge selection where everyone's needs were met - there was bread, baked goods, fried savoury items, cornflakes, huge selection of hot drinks and cold drinks too. I was very pleasantly surprised at the lovely breakfast experience. The breakfast room was nice and staff cleaned up leftover rubbish and plate really quickly and well. Overall, and evidently, this place far exceeded my expectations and provided me with a wonderful stay. I would 100% recommend this hotel anyday.

I stayed there one night for a business trip. The room was supposed to be paid by my travel agency, they made me paid with my personal credit card and told me it was just a security deposit when i complained which was a lie. I won't come back. Really dissatisfied.

That situation quite place... Very beautiful, clean, and wonderful for relax... We have 15 people here... Mostly they like it and want to back again The receptionist very friendly and helpful

The location is great. Entrance and the looks of it from the outside is really nice. My room is definitely small but it’s just perfect for a 3 nights stay and I do like it. Bathroom smells moldy though (-1 star) that I have to keep it open all the time. The crew? Not as friendly to the people with color. I asked a woman who worked there for directions and after she did, she rolled her eyes. Hmmmm...and the 3 days I was there, 2 days has been a hallway with paints, paint brushes, tarps and etc. (-1 star). They could do more training on customer service with all races if they prided themselves in the hospitality business.

Nice hotel, with a very comfortable room (it was the Deluxe Twin room). Very welcoming staff, at the reception and the bar. I appreciate the presence of a sharing library ("take a book, share a book") in the lobby.

Very nice food from a not too lomg but quality menue. Very friendly staff.

The hotel is clearly located in somewhat dated building, but on the inside it looks nice and cosy. The room was clean, with lots of light, a good bed and a (small) ensuite bathroom. There was a nice handwritten note to welcome us and shortly after arrival we received a courtesy call to check if everything was to our liking. They seemed consious about their customer service. The breakfast was good too. Overall we really liked the value for money of this hotel.

Totally inadequate for coach trips as all meals were booked in the evening you staff could not cope with you expatiations this was a major failure. Also I would have expected a respectable hotel to have put full breakfast on for our departure. Obviously you are not a respectable hotel as you did not do this ands more interested in profits than customer satisfaction. The fact my surname is Holland and this was shouted out over by the receptionist I found both degrading and unassay I feel she should be dismissed. To summaries I will never recommend your hotel to any one and will advise any one I know to avoid you
