Best and most authentic yoga school in Amsterdam. If you are looking for real yoga, look no further. These 1,5 hour classes take you on a true yogic journey. Chanting AUM and a mantra before class, you are being guided with a lot of love and profession into the asanas. They truly take you on a trip to India in 1,5 hours - and they share a lot of knowledge about the yoga philosophy. There is a lot of personal attention, hands on adjustments, and just lovely vibes all around. My favourite place to practice yoga in Amsterdam.

In many years living in Amsterdam I tried several yoga studios but after trying what real yoga is, I would never go anywhere else. Svaha has became the place where I find the peace in myself in stormy days, where I learn not only how to do asanas but valuable lessons for life. Teachers have good knowledge and are experienced for years, for real they know what they do ! Sweet people and great community here. For me, as an expat, I've found the warmth of a family far away from my home.

Some of my favorite teachers come from Svaha (Afke & Moena). I love the studios at Willemstraat and Begijnenstraat. They feel very intimate. I love their total involvement with yoga. I would say they are strong in story telling yoga. But here it really depends some times which teacher you have, some need some more experience, some are very experienced. My favourites are Patrick and Gosta. Good flows, good sequencing. It is yoga with philosophy. They love a good chant here!

Definitely my favorite yoga school, would recommend it to everyone. Great welcoming atmosphere, very knowledgeable teachers and authentic yoga for all levels of practice. Never had a negative experience, always leave class in a great mood!

I was blessed to find this yoga studio straight after I moved to the Netherlands. Yoga practice at Svaha goes beyond just asana practice and I am very thankful to learn so much from great teachers such as Gosta, Patrick and Josie. Best place to practice in the city! The studio has a very welcoming atmosphere and community that feels like coming home. I came here for a free meditation in June and loved it. The whole building and experience is amazing, you slowly walk up a few flights of stairs to this beautiful cozy attic with the most amazing energy. Idk it’s amazing that’s all I know.

My favorite yogastudio since 2007. Very professional teachers. It is the place where all comes together. They give Vinyasa practice on three levels, all with a good eye on the right alignment. So also when you do a very challenging level 3 class you know your technique is well enought to prevent you from injuries. They sing, they speak out. This is the place where you sweat, you chant, you laugh, you can be emotionally touched and where you can find silence. I love to come here. And even since i moved away to the other side of the country i still create the opportunities to visit them. And enjoy a great class, since they are really unique!
