This
hospital
began
its
activity
in
1963
as
a
tuberculosis
control
project.
Ami
of
this
project
was
to
treat
tuberculosis
other
Chest
disease
patient
and
research
of
related
subject.
After
Liberation
1971
under
the
leadership
of
our
great
leader
father
of
nation
Banga
Bondhu
Sheik
Mojubur
Rahman.
it
was
Named
National
TB
Control
Project
Shyamoli
Dhaka
since
then
tuberculosis
and
other
chest
disease
patient
was
treated
as
outdoor
basics.
Later
on,
as
there
were
increasing
number
of
TB
and
Chest
disease
patient
Government
of
Bangladesh
has
taken
decision
to
convert
this
TB
control
project
to
full-fledged
hospital
which
was
named
as
"
250
Bedded
TB
Hospital"
Shyamoli,
Dhaka.
Honorable
Minister,
Ministry
of
Health
and
Family
welfare,
Md.
Nasim
MP
inaugurated
this
institute
in
January,2017
with
indoor
outdoor
and
operative
facilities.
This
hospital
renamed
as
250
Bedded
TB
Hospital,
Shyamoli,
Dhaka
from
January
2017,
Honorable
Minister
for
Health
Family
Welfare
Md.
Nasim
MP
inaugurated
this
newly
built
250
Bed
TB
Hospital
with
facilities
of
150
Bed
indoor
services
(free
bed,
paying
bed,
cabin),
24
hours
emergency
services,
Operation
theater
with
thoracic
surgery,
Gene
X-part
test.
From
March
2018
spirometry
and
fiber
optic
Bronchoscope,
ICU,
HDU
also
has
been
started
for
modern
management
of
tuberculosis
and
chest
disease.
Dengue
and
Covid-19
treatment
is
also
started
in
this
pandemic.
Negative
Pressure
Biosafety
level-2
lab
has
been
setup
by
IDDS.
Negative
Pressure
ICU,
HDU,
Male
&
Female
MDR
ward
has
been
established
as
one
stop
service
center
for
Tuberculosis
by
ACTB.
Both
are
USAID
funded.
We
hope
that
this
hospital
will
become
a
center
of
excellence
in
very
short
time.
