Grand
Mosque,
which
is
sometimes
mistakenly
called
Chehelston
Mosque,
is
located
in
the
old
part
of
Kermanshah,
on
Modares
Street
(formerly
Sepah),
at
the
corner
of
Jalukhan
and
not
far
from
Rashid
Yasemi
Street
(Safavid
Nawab)
and
is
one
of
the
remarkable
works
of
the
late
Zandieh
period.

This
mosque
was
built
in
1196
AH.
AH
(1781
AD)
during
the
reign
of
"Ali
Murad
Khan
Zand",
was
built
by
Ali
Khan
Zanganeh,
ruler
of
Kermanshah.
The
Grand
Mosque
is
currently
the
site
of
Shiite
Friday
prayers
in
the
city
of
Kermanshah.
