Nishiazabu Taku

Restaurant Sushi restaurant

👍👍 It was the best sushi I have ever had. It's rare that a meal makes you emotional, but this is how I felt with more than a few pieces of sushi from Nishiazabu. A depth and sensation to enjoy and revel in for the short moments which are destined to become memory. I'll leave the details to the other... People often mention sushi, experience, amazing, chef, omakase, friendly, meal, Satoshi, delicious, Chef,

A unique omakase experience. Many side dishes scattered throughout the course that it felt balanced between small bites as well as sushi. Unique flavors, all delicious. Chef was very friendly and spoke amazing English. The vibe of the restaurant is very relaxed and each group sits at different times so you are being served directly.

It was the best sushi I have ever had. It's rare that a meal makes you emotional, but this is how I felt with more than a few pieces of sushi from Nishiazabu. A depth and sensation to enjoy and revel in for the short moments which are destined to become memory. I'll leave the details to the other reviewers, but know that you are in good hands. If I had any critique, it would be this. The pacing felt a little fast for me. Also, while I was enjoying a piece of sushi, I was required, more than once, to engage or respond to people while in the depths of the beautiful flavors. As a side note, I was also introduced to the most amazing sake I have ever tasted here. While in general, I wasn't crazy about the sake pairing only because there were two that stood out to me (see pictures), one unfiltered sake whos flavor was just too overpowering for the food, and a third that was unremarkable. It was all overshadowed and worth it, though, by the extraordinary character of nichi nichi.

We had our first ever Omakase dining experience here. It really lived up to our expectations and the food was incredible. They also offer a good selection of wines and sakes if you’re into that. We got some amazing Japanese wine with our sushi. I would come back.

Hands down the best sushi experience we could ever imagine and have ever had! From the service start to finish, which was so detailed and well thought out to the quality and taste of each bite! We were blown out of the water! Our chef satoshi was born into a family of sushi chefs and he was so skilled and explained each course, showing us pictures of each fish. Each bite seemed so complex in flavors and so fresh. Everything was wild caught and you could taste the quality difference! Amazing amazing experience and even the little radish sandwich palette cleanser was so crisp and delicious! The edamame ice cream amazing! We left perfectly full and perfectly satisfied. Thank you Satoshi! We booked through table all and everything went smoothly!

Amazing omakase experience. Small and cozy shop hidden in the middle of a bunch of residential buildings. The chef was super friendly and explained everything that we ate with pictures and a book (pretty funny but informative). Nothing in the meal disappointed as every piece was carefully prepared fresh in front of us. The pace was good too as you had room to chat and chill without waiting too long between pieces. Will definitely try to come back again (if we can get a booking).

Top quality omakase every time. Little touches like the daikon shisho palate cleanser elevate the entire experience. You can’t wrong with the sake and wine recommendations.

An unforgettable dining experience. Chef Satoshi was amazing and his lighthearted humor, knowledge, skill, and humble passion shined as bright as the delicious dishes. With every plate he masterfully served, we were also given insight as to what were were eating and where it came from. His drink recommendations were spot on, and there wasn’t anything about this experience that was not 5-stars. We had so many dishes that I can’t remember them all, but each was fantastic, and we finished the meal with decadent ice cream and tea. When it came time to leave he walked us out, which sealed the experience as being one I’ll never forget. Thanks so much!

Stunning atmosphere with amazing service. The chef with 35 years of experience under his belt served the courses with immaculate care, and we enjoyed every bite! Flavour pairings were unique and went well with the sake. 100% worth the splurge, and I'm very grateful they made an effort to speak English to communicate with my group. A definite recommendation to come try this omakase course. Their fish is ordered fresh on the day, flown in from Kyushu.

An unforgettable fine dining experience. Chef Satoshi served delicious sushi and a variety of other dishes and is a true master of his craft. It was my first time having Omakase and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to try in Tokyo! The tuna and horse mackerel just melted in my mouth. Loved everything about it!

By far the best meal I’ve had in my 21 years of living. It was my first omakase and was everything I could have hoped for. Chef Taku was very friendly and informative, spoke great English, and made the experience very approachable. The quality of every dish was excellent and the non sushi courses were highly creative. Making a reservation the day before worked out for us as well which was great. Could not recommend it more.

Can't comment on the food since they didn't honor my reservation which was placed weeks ago. I can only comment on their service. I'll keep it simple. Callousness permeates through this establishment. Not a care in the world if they overbooked or whatever, and your issues are yours to resolve alone even if you booked weeks in advanced and are hundreds of miles away from your home. Ended up eating at a restaurant nearby that was all to happy to have us and even stayed open past their closure. To each his own.

We both loved our experience with Chef Satoshi Ogura! Spectacular omakase lineup. I really like how he adjusted his offering to my wife’s likes and dislikes with a smile and an amazing attitude. Very cheerful, precise, skilled, and informative sushi master. I can’t wait to visit again. Thank you very much Satoshi-sama. You are truly a talented person. Very grateful to have experienced our first Japanese fine sushi experience with you. Keep up the great work!

What a fantastic meal. Course by course the meal was perfect. Our chef talked us through his choices and explained what species of fish we were eating and where it came from. Showing us pictures of the fish in the book. It's all just very very good from start to end.

Amazing experience! From the sushi chef to the wait staffs and obviously the sushi. Overall excellent but it’s a bit pricey however if you are visiting Tokyo. It’s ok to splurge a little. We enjoyed every piece and I believed it was approx 21 pieces.

I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a once in a lifetime dinner. I can’t stop thinking about how amazing the sushi was. Thanks so much for such a wonderful and memorable experience chef.

As a foreigner from the US, this is my first time eating at a sushi restaurant in Japan. Eating here was much better than I expected! Every 20 course omakase meal were incredible delicious. It is really difficult to choose my favorite one because they were all unique in flavor, texture and presentation. Ambiance was peaceful. The sushi chef and his apprentice were very friendly, explaining in English how to eat our sushi and did a great job making them. If you are a sushi lover like me, then I really recommend to eat here.

(Visited Nov’18) ありがとうございました Thank you very much Satoshi-San! Highly recommend, Satoshi San comes off as a highly skilled and super friendly sushi chef, I remembered we had drinks (way too much but it was too good to refuse another one) along the way and the whole ambience was amazing! Hope you’re doing great and safe and look forward to visit again on my next trip to Tokyo!

It's an amazing experience. I would call it a journey rather than a dinner. The foods served weren't just sushi but pieces of a masterpieces.

Amazing omakase. Very different from the norm, with chef serving several cooked dishes as well. Takuya Sato speaks excellent English as well and is very friendly.

Super experience, an incredible first meal in Tokyo this trip. Satoshi is so welcoming and kind, he shares about the fish and shows us from his book. Not usually a fan of mackerel or eel and this place has totally convinced me otherwise! :)
