Bad experience. For the first time going to a destination birthday and I wanted to celebrate in Paris. I was so thrilled that I will be staying a hotel that is close almost everything and hotel looks great. On our first night, we ran into a little problem. We get back late from going out and seeing Paris, it is around 10:30ish our toilet plumbing doesn’t work and the water is rising and there are three girls staying in there. So I go down ask the front desk person if they have a plunger or anything to fix the toilet? He looks confused and he say why don’t you used the brush in the toilet. I am confused cause that will not fix the toilet, I say no the water is rising, need a plunger. So he look at two places and say no they don’t have it. We have to wait til next morning at 10am. I looked confused and said I don’t think we can wait til next morning to not use the toilet. Then he suggest we use the toilet in the lobby. I say what in the middle of the night and come all the way down the stairs to use the bathroom!!? He eventually give me a key to use the bathroom in the second floor room to use the bathroom. I could not believe it, we are paying a lot to stay at a hotel and there was no apology and any form of coupon or discount. I really felt disappointed with the way the hotel ran. No was no apologies for the discomfort in staying in their hotel and I will never stay there. Another part I was disappointed was that it was not clean as the picture portrayed. you expect some but it was a lot. And there were allowing animals into the building. Not my idea of a hotel that portrays as a four star hotel but it felt like three star and treated the customers like two star. I am writing cause I don’t want other people to expect better and get disappointed and waste their money like me. They can’t completely ruin my experience, I had a good time in Paris and had fun with my friends. I will be back in Paris but not to this hotel.

Be warned - the hotel is falsely advertised and rather disgusting. It is NOT an upscale hotel as listed. The rooms are outdated and are shockingly dirty and unsanitary (meaning that there are 'fluid stains' on multiple surfaces.). See photos: The ceiling was damaged and water stained. The carpet was full of stains and the room smelled moldy. Bedroom: The curtains had multiple white and black stains on them, the mattress was very old and had stains on it, with other's hairs on the sheets. The light switch was taped to the walls and dirty. Bathroom: walls were old and stained with drips and what looked like dry blood, walls had suffered past water damage, dead bugs were visible in the ceiling light. The bathroom mirror was rusty and the room was poorly lit. The tub had dirty anti-skid stickers in the bottom and was not suitable for bathing. The hotel furniture's plastic veneer was peeling off in places and the coffee table was dirty with sticky spots on it. Upon checking in, we were informed there is NO room service and we would have to get our own towels from a custodial closet. The ice machine was broken. The AC would not cool the room, regardless of how low the temperature was set. Accomodations for more than two guests is an moldy couch that folds out. The pillow cases had dried blood on them. The following day, the power was out and there was no air condition as temps in Paris were over one hundred degrees during a three day heat wave. We were told none were available and if we cancelled, there would be a five hundred dollar fee to do so. The only thing good about the hotel is its location. But, there are many other hotels nearby and without having seen any of them, I can assure you - they are better than this one and won't require a dose of antibiotics afterwards.

Great location. Large spacious room with beautiful views of the Seine. Perfect service from wonderful staff. Loved my stay and would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone travelling to Paris

Very outdated. Even though they had a front desk they were not accommodating. Good luck on getting your room cleaned. We had to get our own fresh towels and dispose of trash. For all the money you pay to stay here, I don't pay to do these things myself! They provided no disposable cups for Cafe in the morning. You had to bring cups from your room!

Beautiful Hotel, staff was amazing...customer service was the best we have seen. We were celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary during our stay. The staff gifted us a bottle of champagne 🍾 to celebrate. Such a thoughtful and nice touch. The bed was amazing and the shower was amazing as well. We will definitely be back!!! What a great place to spend NYE!!! Welcome 2024!!!

This hotel is in a great location but there are some major problems. The service from the staff is terrible and they give you a bad attitude. I was asking them to call a taxi and they kept hanging up one me. After about calling them 5 times and they kept hanging up, I went downstairs to they receptionist to get more bad attitude. This hotel is like a hostel, there is no room service and you have to wash your own clothes. The rooms are quite a good size but the tvs are tiny. The beds are very uncomfortable just like a plank of wood. One of the terrible features of this hotel is that you have to buy your own water from vending machines. Please do not stay at this hotel if you are looking to have a good stay in Paris.

Gross hotel rooms. Extremely dirty carpeting. Looks like it hasn’t been updated in over three decades. Lots of damages and stains. The first room smelled like cigarettes and diapers. The AC didnt work in the first room. The bathrooms have water stains and poor lighting. This is not a four star hotel. I’ve stayed in a nicer motels before. It’s two stars at best. Do not recommend at all. Objectively disgusting and completely misrepresented online. I will say the manager, Leanne, was very understanding and helpful. Which I appreciated. She changed our room for us. Clearly she understands the issues and gets many complaints about the need for renovations. I hope the owners will change things so that her job is easier. But the pictures on the website are in my opinion reaching the level of fraud. The hotel is outdated, every single carpet in the hallways and rooms is stained, discolored, and smell disgusting. The second room is slightly better but not by much. The bathroom still has damages. The lighting is terrible. The amenities are all outdated. And the room smells old and mildewy. The amount we were charged for a room of this low quality is criminal. I don’t understand the positive reviews at all. Oh also, we woke up at 9:45am to them doing ACTIVE CONSTRUCTION. So if you can manage to sleep at all knowing you’re walking on floors that haven’t been properly cleaned in three decades you’ll be awoken early to the sounds of drills and hammers. I understand people like the central location but it’s not worth it. If there was ANYWHERE else to stay we’d go elsewhere. Save your money and don’t make the mistake we did.

Citadines hotel has excellent location, beautiful view, friendly and helpful staff. A great hotel to stay in Paris for its proximity to landmarks, shopping, dining, and transportation. Guest Room had a well-equipped kitchen and a spacious bathroom. However, room carpet need to be replaced. Great coffee was always available in the lobby at automatic espresso machines . We didn't have to wait for elevators, and the wifi was reliable. Front desk staffs are reliable and supportive!

Very ideal location, easy access to Paris Metro systems and RER lines. Walkable to main attractions, lots of restaurant choices within walking distance. The lobby also has filtered water access and super-automatic coffee machines for free. The self-service laundry facility is also a very nice surprise, we love it, you can pay and check your wash / dry status via the We-wash app. The front desk hosts were super nice, they allowed us to check in early (12PM) when we sign up to their hotel system (also free to sign up). The room amenities are really good. The room is equipped with a mini kitchen. It also comes with a towel warmer and hotel slippers, these small things just make your stay a lot more pleasant. The room layout is also very good, with lots of shelves, the closet is bigger. The toiletries are also with very high quality, The only complaint we have is the toilet paper quality - it is like wiping with a newspaper (way too hard).!!! Other than this, everything seems perfect. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. It will be one of my top choices next time I visit Paris.

*Edited post response from the hotel Checked in today. Great room/staff but I’m staying 10 nights and they said they will only clean my room once during the 10 days. I did find out you can get daily cleaning for an extra fee so that makes it more ok. What I found misleading though is that nowhere on the booking site does it say that there isn’t daily cleaning and most if not everyone do expect this. I also would recommend putting in curtains that can make the rooms totally dark.

Wonderful location. Easy access to metro, buses, food, shopping. First time using the wewash laundry app which worked wonderfully for us. There is a counter for free hot beverages. The property is a tad old. Our room had a slight musty smell but after opening the window to air it awhile, it was fine. Our son’s room seemed to be more recently renovated with newer carpet and heater in the toilet. Overall, we liked the space of the room with a kitchenette. Very pleasant stay.

Honestly, not a bad place at all. I had a 6 hour flight and the receptionist was so nice to help me check in, showed me personally where my room was. Free coffee/tea near the reception. Near many cafes, restaurants and carrefour express to buy groceries behind the apart-hotel . If you can handle the old carpets & curtains then this is a good place if you need a kitchen. It’s worth staying for a few days. It was a nice experience.

Awful experience. Save money and book in another place. The room was such a dirt that we had to ask to change to a cleaner one. Staff weren’t nice at all. We felt so uncomfortable whenever we had a question because staff wasn’t kind. Bad temper an very bad humor. We were shocked by such a bad service. When they moved us to the new room, my breathing machine was disappeared and staff refused to help us. Disrespectful treat. The only good thing is the location of the hotel. But I rather walk miles before staying again in a place where they ruin your stay. All of a sudden, very loud alarms were on and nobody explained what happen. Staff refused to help or make you feel welcome. They should work on something else rather than in hospitality. Anything but hospitality.

This a very nice hotel located very close to the hustle and bustle of the latin quarter with many of the major sights within walking distance. Located right on the Seine, the room description included photos of the river from the window. I tried to attach it to this review but Google would not let me. This clinched the deal for me! I am a sucker for a room with a view and chose this hotel because of this promise. However, when we arrived we found our "deluxe studio" was at the back of the building facing a back street with only a view into our neighbor's apartments (see attached). I was very disappointed. The room itself was very large by local standards although one would not describe it as "luxury" or "deluxe". That said it was very clean and was extremely quiet. Also, the AC worked very well. One other great feature of this hotel is the presence of two espresso/cappuccino machines in the lobby!

Cleaning is not included, it’s NOT a 4 star hotel, rooms look much better in photos than they really are, air conditioner doesn’t work propperly

Fantastic location but slow, error-ridden service, shabby and grubby looking rooms. Underwhelming and poor value for money, considering local competitors, overall.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Citadines hotel due to its excellent location, wonderful view, incredibly friendly and helpful staff, and top-rate facilities. The next time we come to Paris we will probably stay here again because you cannot beat this location for its proximity to landmarks, shopping, dining, and transportation. We had a beautiful view of the Seine which we enjoyed on a nightly basis. The room had a well-equipped kitchen and a spacious bathroom. Great coffee was always available in the lobby at automatic espresso machines which had several options available at the push of a button. We didn't have to wait for elevators, and the wifi was reliable. The best part of our stay was the friendly and extremely helpful staff. Early on I stopped relying on google and would ask the front desk staff my questions because they could quickly give me the answers I was looking for. In particular, Melissa at the front desk was very helpful, she helped my wife find a perfect salon for her to get her hair done before our wedding vow renewal ceremony, and she saved us time with her advice on riding the local buses. We felt very comfortable speaking to her and the rest of the staff, and we didn't feel dumb while asking questions especially considering we do not speak French. This hotel strives for great hospitality and it shows.

We just spent 5 night there. We got one bedroom which was very spacious. Both bed and sofa bed were very comfy. The facility could use a little update but it was overall a very nice staying. The staff were so kind and accommodating. It is an apart-hotel so you don’t get a cleaning daily but there is a towel room in the lobby if you need fresh ones and coffee and filtered water were available all day. Our room was faced the street but it was very quiet. There are so many restaurants and shops nearby. Many tour sites are in walking distance. It is the best location of all.

First time, we’ve experienced a 50 minutes wait as we were checking in. I don’t blame the new guy but if you’re stuck on something, ask your manager to help you. It’s stuffed up our bookings and the payment with the city tax, It was frustrating. If you don’t know, ASK for help please! I have to say, I did not have the most friendliness service. Room is spacious and clean Washing machine was easy to access Free water dispenser

Great location, v close to St Germain area with lots of cafés, shops etc. Close to metro stop. Room was a little tired with some damage to walls and fixtures/fittings but there was a good kitchenette and decent bathroom (with plenty of hot water). Big King size bed and a good quality pull out sofa bed which made into 2 singles. Free coffee machine in reception however no milk provided for tea/coffee in the room which was disappointing. Felt secure with room key used to access main door and to use the lift. Staff could have been friendlier. Overall I would recommend for a whistle stop trip to Paris.

The reviews are tough, but we didn’t have a bad time here. I found the front desk to be very helpful. I had some business with the US embassy and they walked me through what i needed to do. The location is superb There is a kitchenette in the room Our room was clean breakfast buffet was varied and good quality and less expensive than many places around the area. The bathroom was well stocked and clean The not so good- They seem short staffed. It’s a busy hotel and the people running the desk seemed overworked Outlets in our room didn’t work, the TV didn’t work because of the outlets not working. We brought it to their attention but nothing was done. It’s ok we were out enjoying and exploring Paris not sitting in the hotel room watching TV.

Great hotel in a very centric area of Paris. The staff were really kind and helpful whenever we needed anything. They offer complimentary still and sparkling water and also coffee or hot chocolate. Very good to have before or after a long Parisian walk. Having washing and drying machines in the premises was very good, but the dryer didn’t work very well as the clothes were still very wet after the drying program. Other than that, the stay was awesome and would come back to Citadines.

The room was spacious and very comfortable. There was a small kitchen and an area with a large desk. In the hotel's central hall, there are vending machines for coffee and sweets that are very useful. The location is excellent. The reception staff was very friendly, most of them could communicate in English, and some in Spanish. It's a hotel that I recommend.

Too old Breakfast room to be redone completely Rooms are even not to small but everything should be refreshed . Not worthwhile for the price now. Super nice position

Not at all or close to the quality you think when looking at pictures. The rooms, hallway and entrance is a distant copy of their past. Still though, I give this place a strong 3 stars, because of the location, high level of service, free coffee available 24 hours and genuine friendliness of staff working there

Great location, rooms were great and the sofa bed was actually a good sofa and a good bed! We liked the towel and coffee self service and it was everything you could want for a few days in Paris.

  • 5/5 Chelsea C. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel was pretty good. Compared to the house that I stayed in London, it was nice. There were some vending machines in the lobby where you can get a quick snack. The only bad thing was that there was construction RIGHT out side of my window. Anyways, we were very happy with our stay there.

A wonderful location and plenty of space in our room. We had a queen bed, and the kids had a pull out couch in the living room. Friendly staff.

Pro: Affordable hotel in the heart of Paris with a kitchen and enough room for 3 adults and 1 baby. Desk staff were great and helped answer all our questions. We really enjoyed the lobby coffee machine. Very happy with our stay. Con: The baby crib provided was a little too small for my baby and baby would wake up when rolling over. Next time I'd ask if there were pack n plays available or I'd bring my own.

Stayed a week in the summer and it was quiet and very clean in my 1 bedroom apt. There was space for 4 comfortably. There were wonderful restaurants very close and we walked every where because it was close to everything we had planned (i.e. museums, parks, ice cream, etc...)
