Great book and gift store, 1st time at the Hillcrest mall location. Always lots of practical and meaningful items, at good prices. The cash and customer service counters are conveniently located at the centre of the store and though a long line this visit, I was able to call out swiftly. Located at the north end of the mall, across the aisle from Shoppers Drug mart easy to access near the Canada Blood Services entrance.

The employees at this store are just HORRIBLE! I will NEVER step foot into this store EVER again and will let everyone I know how awful this store is. On two separate occasions my family have been treated so rudely and with just absolute disrespect. Apparently indigo have their own mask policy. Gaters are not allowed. That’s fine, but you should have signage in front of your store to let customers know before entering the store that they are not allowed. That’s a separate story however. Today my 4 year old daughter and I decided to take a trip to Hillcrest indigo because my daughter loves the store. As we were paying, the cashier took it upon herself to lecture my 4 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER how to wear her mask properly, IN FRONT OF ME! We were literally paying and leaving the store, DO NOT lecture a 4 year old on how to wear a mask when she was wearing a mask by the way but her masked slipped a bit and half of her little nose was showing. I can’t believe the world we live in now, bullying a 4 year old in front of my face, like we haven’t been through enough?? You have lost a loyal customer.

They don't even deserve one star but I had to press something in order to write a review. Terrible service, actually NO customer service. NOBODY around to help nor are there any computers to do a search. Found one computer and it was broken. Went onto Amazon and found the book I wanted. Store stuffed with more gift items than books. Bad news!!!

Placed an online order and choose in-store pickup. When i received email saying some items are not available, but still some items still available, so went to pick it up. When I came to the store, nobody in the Mobile Order pick up position, so i have to line up in the checkout line. when reached to my turn, I asked a gift receipt, then was told the paper stapled on the pick up bag with my name in BIG BIG font and a bar code is the gift receipt. Can you image when you received a gift and found out the gift receipt with a BIG sender name? don't you feel embarrass? Checked the box, only 2 out 4 available, so must buy something else to fill up. Guess what, i found one of the "Not in stock" item, within just 1 minute! OK, come back to cashier and wait in the line, only one cashier was working with customer, but there were 3 ladies in front of the cashier computer, discussed something. After 5 minutes, the discussion done and all of them went to whatever important for them without even check the number of ppls in the line. Finally the lady from my early pick up came and helped me check out, without any apologize after i told her I find the missing item. and I asked if I can have box so I can wrap all the gift(the second time), gave me a small one and claimed that is the only box they have, OK, then i asked can I have a bigger paper bag so I can have all items including the previous picked up together, still gave me the same small one. Looked Indigo is really tight on budget. BTW, does indigo provide the cover price service? just one more sticker on top of the price sticker since I mentioned several times these purchases are gifts. if so I may asked specifically next time, if I still want to place order or purchase here.

This is my neighbourhood store. Christmas shopping has started very early and stores are just crazy with cash line ups. Not enough staff. No one was around to help customers. Didn't find what I needed. Did find the book I wanted to buy but the line up was too long. I went home and ordered it from Amazon and got it in 2 days to my door. Need to hire more staff!!! There are lots of people wanting work.

Usually busy, but lines go rather quick. Good selection of books, children's section is large with toys and ideas for gifts. I'm a sucker for the novelty items, but my favourite part is the home section. They have a Starbucks attached as well.

Always a pleasure to visit. Wide variety of books & stationary gadgets. We bought books & Mini LEGO and everyone was happy with their purchase! It's pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Large, clean store, however a surprising amount of the books I saw were quite rough looking. When I found one that I wanted that was pretty banged up, I couldn't look up on their search computers to see if they have any others in stock because their computer system is shut down and the signs on it refer you to use your own phone to Google their stock availability, that's awfully presumptuous that everyone in the store has access to Google on their phones. When I asked a staff member about the book condition, she said it was the last copy they have. I was surprised when she didn't offer a discount on it since we were at the check out, but when I asked for one, she offered 10% off. I would have preferred not to have to ask, considering the jacket of the book was quite mangled. Next, the giant mug display had an empty section that is supposed to be for Father's day mugs. As I ventured further into the store, I found another separate display for only father's day mugs by the check out line. But I would have had to enter that section of the store to even see them. They could have easily stocked both sections so that it didn't look completely empty in the main display, there was enough stock to do so. If I hadn't also had an interest in buying a few books, I would have just turned around and left the store without buying one of their overpriced occasion mugs and given my business to someone else. Instead, I ended up with the mug I wanted, but entirely frustrated with my experience at this location.

We loved it. I took a look at the merchandise. My husband doesn't really shop in there. I received my credit card and was waiting for the pin number. Well, he picked out merchandise for his birthday for next month and my roommate picked up something as well Only thing we did not like, that you changed is the computer system. It was easier to use and find things on our own

Indigo is a cozy bookstore with a nice feel to it. They've got a good selection of books without being overwhelming. The staff is helpful, and I like that there's a café to chill in. It's not flashy, just a comfortable spot to browse and find something interesting to read.

I'm thrilled to express my positive experience with Indigo. Their bookstore offers a vast and well-curated selection of books, including unique finds and popular titles. The cozy ambiance and thoughtful layout create an inviting atmosphere for browsing. The staff is knowledgeable and always willing to assist, enhancing the overall shopping experience. Additionally, their commitment to community events and a variety of lifestyle products makes Indigo a go-to destination for both book lovers and those seeking a delightful shopping experience. Highly recommended!

This is a lean location. their staff is helpful, and the reason I'll say this is the computers don't work anymore, I believe they moved on to the QR code to save time. Indigo isn't just a book store, they have so many random things to buy aside from books like boardgames, electronics, records, home decor and more. They also have a kids section where you can find great educational books, games and more for all ages. I recommend going there to check out what they'll have for you.

One of my favourite places to just browse in the mall. It's relaxing to spend half an hour just going through and looking at the titles available and then searching up more information online about any titles that seem particularly interesting. Only thing is that you almost definitely shouldn't buy the books you see on the shelves. I've seen tons of books with very visible scratches and rips or a bunch of oily smudges. You're much better off just ordering off Amazon or the online indigo and having it shipped to you if you actually want a book that looks new and not used.

The layout and decor are very nice at this location. They have a wonderful selection of books to browse and they have a huge collection of home and personal items. There is a dedicated kids section, a health section, a kitchen section, a bedroom section, a stationery section, a mug section, and on top of that, a Starbucks! This is also a wonderful place to find gifts.

All stores are pretty much the same and I like the set-up and look for the most part but I wish that it was more books like it used to be rather than half books and half merchandise. I don't want to hurt this particular store in order to make that point hence the 5 stars lol

Lacking staff in the kids section. Have never seen an indigo this messy before. The other parts of this info looks neat and tidy. There were no staff at the kids section at all for help or checkout.

Oh how I love Indigo! I've always been a big bookworm, and Indigo has always been my bookish heaven :) Not only are there lots of books and displays, there are also great "home" and "paper" departments. Staff is always warm, welcoming, and kind, and it's truly a pleasure to visit this store. 📚 Just a little note... it would be great to see some more French books :))

Very bad experience there. I bought the things a few days ago exactly here and want to return it. I forgot to bring the receipt cause I thought they can pull out the transaction with my account number, phone number and email address. The staff said they can not find my receipt from my account. If I want to return the things they can do with the store price now which is on sale now. I can not understand that why I bought the things with my account they can not find the receipt from there and can not give my full refund. The end I can not return my thing. The staff is not well trained either. It was such an unpleasant experience there. Don’t recommend to go there.

Indigo is one of my favorite stores. This location flows into Starbucks, another my favourite place. Pumpkin spice latter and a new book that still smells print and paper - moment of bliss!

Had horrible shopping experience at the store. Ordered items for same day pickup at the store to be ready for Xmas, waited for the whole day and didn't receive a confirmation that the order is ready. Tried calling multiple times but no one answered the phone. Tried contacting the second day, and still didn't have anyone answer the phone. Finally drove to the store and spoke to the very snarky and passive aggressive store manager, who informed me that "same day" store pickups now has 2 days or more of delays. There's no warning on the website before you place the order, and there's no one who can answer calls in store. The store manager also seems to not understand that the purpose "same day" orders are offered to provide convenience to customers, and not to create more chaos. Never heard the words "sorry for the inconvenience " from her, only snarky comments like "well we can't process your order now because there are 200 other orders before you." I asked well, why can't the customers be advised before they order that there could be a delay, and just received more excuses and saying it's because every store is different and the chaos is caused by the holiday season. That's an excuse and not a reason. If other retailers are able to provide the service without any issues, then the fact you are running into this and u able to fulfill the in-store orders are due to your incompetence.

Like many other Indigo stores, this one was nice and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. The lost of one star review is due to the lack of cashiers available during checkout. Line up and wait time can get very long, while only 2 cash registers were open. I would recommend having more cashiers open for the future if there's a long line up of customers just waiting to pay, etc.

Time to head here folks as Black Friday sales happening- 40% off mugs & Bodium sets are good. In kids area items that were priced quite well are gone and the remainder of toys are not worth it. If you know Indigo usually its toy prices are very high so with 30% or 40% off will bring the price down to prices at their competitor's stores hence you are not saving. Lego, Lol Dolls, V-Tech toys I didn't find good sales on these toys. My suggestion is to shop at Winners & look for sales at Toys R Us. V-Tech toys at Winners are generally $4 to $7 less than competitor prices city wide. I was successful and snatched up Ty plush at $1.50 which I believe was under priced and should have been $4.50 like many were at the same size. If you don't mind bashed in boxes then look in their clearance area - ask where it's at as its difficult to find with stuff all messy and all over the place and covering the clearance sign.

The search computers no longer work. Finding someone to help me took me over half an hour. Lining up and waiting to pay for books took over half an hour. If you have time to spare and wait forever for what you are looking for, this place is for you. I only wanted two books that I already looked up before hand, should be in and out about 15 mins became an hour and half annoying experience. On the plus side, this Indigo probably has the largest collection of books and products I've ever seen. Just expect to hunt down people to help you and wait in line forever.

Nice little book store with a good selection. This occasion however I was randomly interrupted about a drink I was not holding or consuming. Very rude, aggressive and unprofessional staff member. I complained to the manager on duty and hope in the future staff are trained suitably as this unbridled needless policing creates a toxic environment for a book shop that strives to create a pleasant and enjoyable experience for its patrons.

I am always impressed with this store. There's always great finds too! There's not only an endless assortment of books, There's so many other things too. Great gift ideas as well.... THIS will be "The place" for my Christmas shopping this year. Oh, probably for any kind of gift giving actually! There's so much for under $20 There's cool kits too. From bath bomb making kits to rock painting and aluminum foil and Tarot Cards... WOW! The organization and displays and cleanliness of the store too is great. I can stay here for hours! There's also a Starbucks coffee shop to top it off so buy a book and enjoy a coffee and chill! Cheers!!!

Love this store. Went with my sister and we were able to pick up a few beautiful things for her. Also able to get a Starbucks so important. Love it scarves, purses, cards, gifts, books amazing. So many different wonderful items.

Very clean and organized. Great job with the store appearance. Selection of books seems smaller now, especially science fiction and fantasy. Prices are a little high for non-book items. Two employees were right beside me but never asked if I needed help which was bad, since I did need help looking for a gift. Still love the store overall.
