Had a very nice stay during December to visit the Christmas markets in Strasbourg. The hotel is located close to a tram station which takes you directly in the city center. The Spa was smaller than expected yet there's plenty of sunbeds, saunas, therefore a nice add on to the stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Athena Spa in Strasbourg. The rooms were nice and clean, the facilities were excellent, and the breakfast was delicious. My wife really wanted someplace with a pool, and if possible a jacuzzi in the room. We never got a chance to try the pool. We did not see online that "loose fitting" swimsuits are not allowed. My wife had a suit with a skirt, and I have trunks. The accepted style of suit was available for rent, but honestly, I was not willing to pay 10 Euro to rent a suit. Other than that the hotel met every expectation. There were some mechanical problems with the jacuzzi in our room, and thank goodness another room with jacuzzi was available. We switched rooms and enjoyed the rest of our stay. The room was fantastic. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we really enjoyed the modern furnishings. The hotel is a 10 - 15 minute tram ride from the center of town; and only a short walk to the tram stop. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was extremely clean, dog- and baby-friendly and conveniently-located. The staff helpful and friendly. The restaurant dinner options were outstanding! The spa was very enjoyable and the massage was excellent! Parking was the only minor issue we had. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would stay there again.

Our stay was short but enough to tell it’s a 5 star worth! Parking was available outside for free but inside cost €9,-, for us we rather park safe inside and totally not expensive. When we checked-in the lady was very kind and helpful, and the pool was good aswell. All the staff tries to help you if needed, we definitely recommend this hotel for everyone!

Rooms area functional but I missed storage space. We lived 5 days out of suitcase. The wellness area is great (specially after bing out exploring all day) but I encountered a young couple making out in steam room, not being bothered by my presence.

It was a perfect stay. The bedroom was spacious. And the Wellness area was spectacular. We had a very relaxing weekend getaway. Buffet was great too.

My time here was great. The prices are reasonable and I loved the amenities. The sauna and pool were wonderful after a long drive. Everything was clean, the people were helpful and knew the area well. The hotel was super close to a bus station for easy access to downtown. The breakfast was to die for. I loved my stay and wish I could have stayed longer. 🥺

Everything was perfect. Very close to two tram stations, within 10 minutes in the city centre. Comfortable spa with three types of sauna. Excellent breakfast.

Spacious room, very quiet, comfy bed, working but quiet AC, couldn't hear neighbors or street noise, well designed room, enough toiletries & towels. Staff was helpful but their English was almost zero. Breakfast was ok: scrambled eggs, meat, cheese cuts, cereal, milk (including soya & almond), coffee, juice, jams, nutella, breads, different kinds of desserts. At night there's also a restaurant / bar at the hotel. Wifi worked but was slow & disconnected often. You can buy swimwear, slippers, rent a bathrobe for the spa / pool. Very close to the A/D tram line going to the center, you can install an app on your phone while on wifi at the hotel & buy your ticket there. Parking was very inconvenient: along the street there's very few spots & there's no space to park in front of the hotel to get your stuff in, very, very inconvenient. There is parking by the hotel that you can enter with a room key card but there's very few spots. Other than parking the hotel was quite enjoyable, I can recommend it.

Amazing from the beginning till the end. The whole stuff is competent and friendly, kind of familiar I would say, and we were in absolutely good hands of Mademoiselle Flavie by check-in and check-out, where we got all important infos for the trip to Strasbourg city. She was perfectly nice. But same to say about the other stuff too. Even if not everyone were able to talk to you in English - but anyway, the cocktails and handmade drinks from bar tender Charles were pretty perfect too, nothing else to say. If that hotel will and can keep their stuff, they will be on the save side of positive recommondations. Of course needet to mention the clear rooms, the comfortable beds (and 2 pillows for each person!-great). Even dogs are allowed, which makes that hotel special nicely. All spa areas with the pool and the different sauna scenes with for example the tropical sauna which includes different light influences and jungle noises was a welcome new experience for sauna lovers like us. We will see us definitely again because not just Strasbourg has caught us deeply in the heart with that special mentality. Go on like that

According to the other reviewers I probably just had back luck with our stay. The five of us spent a bachelorette weekend in Strasbourg and booked one night as well as four massages in the hotel. The hotel made a very good impression. It was modern, clean and the breakfast was nice. However, I was very disappointed in the spa area as well as in the way the staff reacted. To begin with, the hotel just provided towels for the spa. Everything else (bathrobe, slippers) had to be rented on top. Obviously, this was not the worst part. I had two very unpleasant experiences. First, we're from the German speaking part of Switzerland and therefore got and read the German version of the spa booklet. There it was written that using bathing suits in the spa area is forbidden. Now, in Switzerland that is actually the case. I knew, that normally you had to wear bathing suits in the spa in France. However, as it is very close to the boarder, I just thought they adapted. So we were the only ones walking around there without any bathing suits and just a towel and it turned out that the translation was wrong. It was the other way around. Bathing suits are mandatory. Second, my massage should have taken place from 11:00-11:45 (check-out being 12:00). Should have been enough time for taking a shower and packing the rest of my things before checking-out. However, the massage started later and lasted up until 11:55. I thought it would be no big deal if the check-out was like 15 minutes later. But also here, I was wrong. The reception called me on 12:05 that I should leave my room. Around 12:10 someone just entered and again told me to leave my room. At the check-out I explained both of those experiences to the receptionist. I just got a "oh, that must be a translation error, how would it be written correctly" and a "the check-out is all the same for all guests". So I really didn't feel like I was taken seriously and I for myself would not recommend this hotel just due to the ignorance of that receptionist.

Terrible experience. Really not 4-star hotel. The hotel is 2-star at most! The reception was not really professional. Unlike other hotels, they told us to pay on spot. Don't understand why? They had my card number but was rushed to get their money. That was kind of awkward. The service was low, the towels were beige to brown instead of white and smelled worn-out. The heating system didn't work and the reception had not will to help. The hotel was small and tight, not convenient for two people. We bumped into each other all the time. We had asked for an iron and board, when it arrived it was a toy, didn't iron. The room was by the train station and we couldn't rest because of excessive noise outside. Really suggest not to go to this hotel. We cancelled our next reservation which was set for January 2023.

Enjoyed my stay at Hotel Athena ! Sauna and pool are free-entry and open all year, recommend ! You should note that it is 15 min by tram from the center city or 40 min walk.

Nice and very well kept hotel. Rooms were tasteful, the double bed was huge. Inside the room you can find a kettle and a small fridge which comes in handy. There is also a tram stop that leads to the center and is around 6 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Tickets can be purchased from a machine at the stop. We used the hotel private parking on the ground floor which is free and also managed to park on the street when there wasn't available. We cannot comment on the food, the bar or the spa facilities since we didn't use. Recommended hotel.

Spacious rooms, however, cleaning service is highly dependent on the room you get. We had to change room for the last night and moved from the 3rd floor (badly cleaned, extremely noisy heating/cooling system) to the 4th floor (well cleaned, comfortable bed, heating/cooling less noisy). Doors of toilets shut automatically with a big noise, thus, you always hear doors shutting loudly from all the rooms next by. Annoying and really unnecessary noise. Generally, a friendly service and very well located. Spa can be used freely, however, if you go in the morning, they're actually still cleaning, so you can't use the sauna or the hammam until the cleaning staff is done. A bit of a shame, it opens only at 10am, so there is enough time to finish the cleaning before the guests arrive. There is definitely room for improvement.

Quite good hotel but some strange things, e.g. parking must be reserved upfront and even then you must call reception to get access.

Everything is perfect there, the spa is for a hotel really nice, rooms are basic, but very modern and clean with very comfortable beds, staff is really friendly. It's not a 5 stars high end hotel, but probably the best value you can get in the whole area. It was my second time and I will definitely come back!

Nice clean spacious rooms with comfortable beds, good wifi. The only negative thing is that it s nit right in the city center. But by tram or taxi it take 10 - 15 minutes to get there.

Check-in is not possible before 3pm and also spa is not open before 3pm. Everything is so late in this hotel. Also there is a 10 second timer in toilet and you need to move your body every 10 second in toilet or you will be in dark, i have never seen such ridicilous thing. 1/10 , never recommended.

We stayed 2 night in June 2023, we had a very memorable experience! Hotel staffs are friendly and welcoming. Room is little small but clean. Breakfast was decent. I think according to price I can say it’s not bad at all.

Sehr schönes Hotel. Auf jedenfall sauber. Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption und Bar sehr freundlich. Frühstück leider für 17 € eher enttäuschend. Service im Restaurant (Abend) eher unsympathisch. Essen war gut aber teuer. Spa Bereich war ok. Aber wenn jemand sein Urlaub darauf aufbaut Spa zu haben, dann eher nicht geeignet. Kommen wir zu dem leider größten Manko: die Matratze in unserem Zimmer war die reinste Katastrophe…. Zwei Nächte übernachtet und ich fühle mich einfach erschöpft. Leider Matratzen durch. Kaum geschlafen.

Das Hotel liegt ein bisschen außerhalb der Stadt - die Tram befindet sich aber in der Nähe wodurch man in gut 20 Minuten in der Innenstadt ist. Das Zimmer ist gewohnt übersichtlich und der Mini-kühlschrank entwickelte in der Nacht ein merkwürdiges Eigenleben. Davon abgesehen war aber alles gut. Den Spa-Bereich haben wir nicht genutzt wohl aber die kostenlosen Parkplätze, die hier noch erwähnt werden sollten. Das Personal am Empfang war ausgesprochen freundlich.

Sehr sympathisches und modern eingerichtetes Hotel. Die Lage ist optimal, Strassenbahnhaltestelle ist nur wenige Meter entfernt und man kann binnen 10 Minuten direkt im Zentrum sein. Perfekt für Sightseeing Touren geeignet. Das Hotel hat ausreichend kostenlose Parkplätze oder Tiefgaragenstellplätze (glaube diese sind gegen Gebühr nutzbar) Das Hotel ist modern eingerichtet, zwar nicht der schönste Stil aber aber doch ganz angenehm und vorallem sehr sauber. Das Personal ist sehr sympathisch, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Personal kann super in English und suf Deutsch kommunizieren. Das Hotel bietet ein schönes kleines Spa, mit einem Pool , zwei Saunen und ein Hamman. Leider sind die Liegen sehr rar. Das Frühstück ist sehr großzügig und frisch. Die Auswahl gibt alles her was man benötigt vorallem sehr zu empfehlen sind die frischen gebackenen Süssenteilchen. Das Hotel kann ich zu 100% weiterempfehlen, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist wirklich Top.

Ruhige Lage, Bahnhaltestelle 5 Minuten entfernt. Hier fahren alle Linien direkt in die Innenstadt (Haltestelle Homme de fer). Am besten ein Tagesticket 24h kaufen für 4.80€. Zimmer gut ausgestattet. Das einzige was fehlt sind Kleiderhaken, um die Handtücher aufzuhängen. Bei Ankunft waren auf der Bettdecke flecken, dass haben die Zimmermädchen aber sofort behoben und wir haben als Entschädigung Bademäntel und Badeschlappen aufs Haus bekommen. Also sehr zuvorkommend! Essen im Restaurant: viel zu kleine Portionen für teuer Geld. Wir waren immer in der Stadt. Hier zu empfehlen: Restaurant Lamian direkt bei Homme de fer. Spa Bereich super ausgestattet und sauber. Personal super nett und hilfsbereit :)

Hippes Hotel etwas außerhalb, mit nettem Spa Bereich, dass allerdings ein Bademantel 5 €, die Badeschuhe 3 € und eine ggf. vergessene Badehose 10 € extra kosten sollen, erinnert stark an die Ryan Air Mentalität. Immerhin war das Kopfkissen inklusive. Frühstück überschaubar.

I would not recommend this hotel as the key cards of different rooms fit to different rooms we booked a suit and the suit on a different floor had the same key card so a random guy came in and was able to steal all of our stuff 😔 he didn't do it but he was able to see all privacy items and so on wich hurt my trust to the hotel all in all it's a nice place but 0 security to privacy 🔏

Great guy at the reception, our room was clean and comfortable, great position (5 minutes walk, then 5 minutes with the public transportation to get to the city centre).

While attempting to book a room i asked to be called if there was a cancelation for certain dates, and I was told they wouldn't do that but that I needed to check the website often to see for myself.(great service people) The bed and pillows were hard and worn out. Our backs were in pain and we were tired from poor sleep. The room coffee was terrible and undrinkable. Upon checking in the desk continually tried upselling you. They don't provide moisturizing lotion like other hotels. The shower gel is of low quality- very cheap. And this is important, you need to fire the man who worked the night shift on the date of Dec 5th into early morning Dec 6th. He's about as miserable a human being as you could imagine. He's rude, unhelpful and has no business in the hospitality industry. I asked if he spoke German and he says no then looked down and blatantly ignored everything I said even though I was speaking to him in English. I asked him for two cappuccino coffees and he said nothing, went into the back and brought 2 expressos and he insisted they were cappuccino. After pointing out they were lacking creme, he became annoyed went into the back again ( said nothing) and brought 2 barely warm cappuccinos. Then charged 10 euros to my room. The cups were half full but I didn't feel lie arguing with this nasty person. He's completely useless. Overall this place tries to pass itself off as an upscale luxury hotel, and charges as such, but fails miserably. The location isn't great, as you have to buy a transit ticket and walk nearly 1 Km if you want to catch the tram to go anywhere. Will not be returning here again. Edit: to the hotel manager. If I walk to the tram at 500m and then I have to walk back from the tram (also 500m I assume?) That equals 1000m which is 1km.

All in all, the place was not bad, but not that good either - therefore the "just above average" mark. The lady doing the treatments was extremely nice, and the meal we had at the restaurant was good. The rooms looked pretty much like in the pictures, but had no drying racks (in a hotel with a pool), the ventilation was not up to the job and the windows not openable - leading to a constantly humid atmosphere. The shower could have been cleaner. The interactions with the staff were varied too - one lady was straight-out rude to my friend, although the others remained correct.
