This review is to warn other travellers of the despicable actions of the Travelodge Toronto East and Wyndham. I showed up for a reservation that Wyndham had sent me a confirmation email for THE DAY BEFORE my check in, only to be advised upon arrival that the entire hotel was temporarily closed. I was then stranded in a suburb of Toronto, with no assistance because “customer service was closed”, with a very important immigration meeting at 8am the next morning. To say this was traumatic is an understatement. Any hotel’s basic function is to provide the reservation contracted for as a guest. I am astounded that I even had to deal with this issue past the date of the reservation; when a hotel is oversold (here, even worse, appallingly accepted a reservation at a hotel that wasn’t even open), the guest is to be “walked”, this is a very standard and familiar procedure for any competently run hotel (again here, appallingly no one at the hotel nor Wyndham was competent enough to even “walk” me). I’ve now spent months dealing with this hotel and Wyndham on an issue that is less than CAD300 in value. I’ve been offered “Wyndham points” as “compensation”, which is of zero value to me when obviously I will never attempt to stay at a Wyndham hotel ever again. At this point, my only option is to pursue a small claim against the owner of this hotel 2179596 ONTARIO INC. and WYNDHAM HOTELS & RESORTS CANADA INC. - Wyndham clearly prefers guest litigation over actual guest service.

I was happy to get the response from the manager (I guess) promptly when I asked for a quite room. They provided me the quite room on fourth floor which was great but the room was bit tinny. I was expecting this time they would improve the service for the breakfast but I seems to me same as it was where room is too small for the customers. I had to wait to get a free chair (sharing with others) for a while. I hope the hotel management will pay their attention to make bigger place for the breakfast room.

Horrible Experience. Bad Housekeeping service. Room was out of toilet paper. Housekeeper cleaned room left no toilet paper. Food always cold. Wifi bad. Blankets dirty. Old building. No ice. No coffee. No microwave. No movies. Hotel Staff rude. Expensive. Over priced. Homeless shelter on site. Not close to anything shopping wise. Litter everywhere and old cigarette butts. Furniture old and beat up. Not an honest operator. Disruptive personnel. Tiny shampoo. No conditioner.

Currently used to house homeless women. Groups of them outside harass people for change/cigarettes, or stand talking to themselves. I would highly highly recommend the attached bar though, The Stags Head. Hotel for now is not open to the public as of 11/10/22.

Nice cosy room which was very clean. All basic amenities such as fridge, Microwave Iron were there. Suitable for small family of four. Bathroom had tub with hot n cold water. Great value for money as it included breakfast. Also located in Scarborough where u can find good dining facility for people from Indian sub-continent.

Stayed at this hotel for a week. Staff were quite friendly, the rooms were decent sized and clean. Only thing is, the hotel is quite old and this could be clearly seen from the room and hotel. It is in dire need of an upgrade, but if you are looking to stay at a hotel in the city and are on a budget, I would definitely recommend this place.

i had issues with the hotel at the first couple trips but thanks to mukul who works the front desk, he helped me understand what was needed from my company - to book the hotel under someone elses name. he handled everything like a champ and i always return due the professionalism he showed.

It has been converted to a shelter no bookings take, you need to have a corporate account or advanced booking to get a room.

Due to the racism of the stuff and turning me down for help I do not appreciate the way I was treated and nevertheless the hotel is very clean and attractive Once you walk inwards to see the classic designs on the walls

This hotel property got converted into a women's and kids shelter. The signage outside the hotel and online hasn't been updated.

Happy Easter John 3 16 Two weeks ago: Partly rented by Scarborough Women's Shelter Imagine the city of Toronto springing for a hotel that normally goes for $140 a night. Having the best shelter experience ever in this still operating Hotel. Maid service room service laundry service ice machines restaurant on a bus route. It's like being a guest. After 19 horrible nightmare experiences in nineteen other shelters I'm finally getting the experience I deserve. Clean!

I had a very negative experience with the customer service at this hotel. The staff were extremely rude and dismissive and did not seem to know how to handle customer concerns in a respectful and professional manner. I do not recommend this hotel and would rate it very poorly.

The hotel was nice and clean, located conveniently for what we need to do (not a touristy area). The front desk was very accommodating when we needed to change rooms. (The first room we were in was too bright at night. The blinds had a gap that we couldn't close)

Paid before I got there and they wouldn’t’t let me in because I didn’t have Valid ID that wasn’t expired... even though the government gave us an extended expiry date because of all this covid stuff and they just wouldn’t listen at all and had me sleep in my car in the parking lot but at least they said they’d give me a refund. But nope I called later on and the worker said they can’t give refunds for prebooked hotels, what a joke of a hotel. Usually hotels have the best service but I guess there’s a reason this one has the worst review should’ve trusted it!
