I submitted a formal complaint regarding this clinic to the Appletree Medical support team. My complaint was apparently sent to the Medical Affairs team and would let me know their response. To date, I have waited two months since my initial complaint to hear back from their team. They do not take patient care seriously. I am a healthcare worker myself, I submitted the complaint to advocate for better patient care, and so I am disappointed with how my complaint was handled. Do not go to this clinic.

The wait time even after getting your appointment prior is unusual. Then comes the wait time after they actually end up calling you . Been waiting for more than an hour now . It has always been this way since my first visit. If this is due to understaffing or more patients then the management has to fix this issue! @appletree

The worst Walk-in Clinic ever! Their undereducated "doctors" will kill you with their careless. I came with my health problem and leave with "Go home and wait until problem solves itself". Sorry, are you really doctor or my granddad? Glad I went to another Clinic who gave me proper treatment and pills for my problem. If you care about your health, money and time avoid this place!

The worst walk-in clinic ever to go to. Waited 3 hours just to see a family doctor to check my daughter. Eventually left without seeing anyone. I’m not going to go there again. 3 hours of our life wasted for nothing. Also I’m leaving my GP that I’ve been with for 8 years and who took unwise move to join Appletree. They think they provide a mission impossible services yet they are a group of family doctors with the very basic medical knowledge!

Do not book a rapid test here. We booked our appointments weeks in advance and confirmed the appointment online also, we showed up for our rapid tests for our upcoming flight and the clinic was closed and locked! No phone call or email to cancel our appointment. We tried to call and automated message said they are closed. Even though we confirmed the clinic hours and appointment time weeks prior! We had to scramble and find a clinic that accepted walk ins so we were able to continue with our travel plans. If you actually want to receive a rapid test, never book here!!

If there was an option to give negative stars, I would have given them that. On 3rd Sept, upon confirmation with the call center, we went with our infant for her two month vaccination. The front desk south Asian lady had put up a note stating that the doctors were not accepting walk ins. We requested if the front desk could accommodate our daughter as we had checked with their call center and the latter had confirmed that there was no need for an appointment. She asked us to come at 4pm on the day. We came back as advised at 4pm only to be questioned why our family doctor would not do vaccination. Furthermore she said that my daughters health card was not valid as it was missing the last two digits . We showed her a back up appointment that we took with the same health card number through their call center for 6th Sept. But she mentioned that she is unable to book appointment with the health card number which was perfectly valid. She had the audacity to check with service ontario on a holiday. She also mentioned that the doctor is not accepting walk ins. The harassment that we went through for this mismanagement is unthinkable. I asked her for the doctors name and she lied about the name as well. Believe it or not the same doctor who happened to be the pediatrician Dr Mathura Thevarajah administered the vaccine two days later when we went with an appointment (not risking it this time). I don't want to go back for further vaccination at this location mostly because of the front desk staff.

I wish I could give them 0 stars. So many issues with this clinic whenever I try to book an appointment, or when I see a doctor. I don't know how many receptionists work there, but there is a specific one who acts as if they can't hear me and always hangs up on me when I try to book an appointment. I called 3 times today; the first time, she apparently couldn't hear me through hung up. I thought maybe my phone was acting weird. 2nd call, same woman answered and put me on hold for 8 minutes then hung up. The 3rd call was the exact same as the 1st. I had my brother use his phone and he had the same exact encounter as the first. I do not know what is going on, but I don't think anyone should tolerate anything like this.

Had an appointment on Oct 14 2022 with Dr. Marguerite Kopaniak. As you express your concerns she likes to cut you off mid way and say ‘ I'm sorry to cut you off because i don't want our time to run out… ‘ no you should not cut anyone off and allow them to express their health concerns. After my telephone appointment with her after repeating myself again because her solutions were methods i was already doing for my issue was not working. It took her the end of the appointment to suggest an imaging i needed to get done. Why need to cut me off two times during our conversation to tell me you’ve been a doctor for 25 years and theres no other solutions to come back and suggest an imaging at the end. She’s also the ‘one issue per appointment’ type of doctor as she mentioned that to me when she’d cut me off from talking. I booked a follow up appointment with Dr. Rajah for today at 12:59pm to discuss the result as i received an email, and it is now 4:06pm and i have not heard from the doctor nor received a call or email. Appletree was never like this before. Something needs to be fixed because this is ridicoulos.

Absolutely unprofessional of their online booking service. You give us appointments, but then greyout the option to cancel or reschedule. Then when I emailed, no one get back. No one has the time to call and wait for a rep to come in line. Then you give us appointments time, and especially on Sundays, you have to wait 2 hours for the appointment. They go with first come basis. You still have to wait that time.

I've been waiting for over an hour for the booked medical virtual service, but it hasn't been provided. They charged me CAD 178. And refunded only CAD 69. The contact center is unreachable, and despite their initial response to my inquiry, they haven't replied regarding the money issue. I'm disappointed; it seems like this virtual service is a scam.

Wish you could rate negative. This place needs to be reported and shut down for it's fraudulent visade as being a place that provides healthcare. I had an appointment this morning, very important. Doctor simply never called. I guess you can graduate medical school but not figure out how to tell time? I tried to call the clinic twice, and the phone kept ringing but no answer. Do not even waste your time trying. Put in the extra time and effort, and find a doctor who will actually see you.

One of the worst clinics. Receptionist was polite but she was too busy as she had to handle all work by herself. Went for test and never even checked for a follow up. When i tried to book a follow up appointment it was all booked and gave me a later date which is even more late to get the reading. Call handler had no idea what the test was as they should be having a little knowledge whatsover on how its done. Had to go to another clinic to get it done and guess their prices were lower too and service was great.

Excellent service! During the pandemic these wonderful medical staff came through for me and my family. I was able to use their virtual care as well as in person. Convenient and quick. They are so kind and caring. Very efficient. I'm very pleased with the service and have recommended them to my friends. I also love how I can access my bloodwork results online through their portal. Great service!

Is this some sort of a joke clinic? I tried to cancel an appointment for my mom, you guys don’t even have a voice message system when you’re not available. What kind of healthcare clinic doesn’t allow their patients to leave a voice message? Fine, then we tried to make an account online so we can cancel the appointment online but even the website is so messed up we couldn’t click on the accept button just to make our account what so ever. Fix your website and your phone assistant options first and everything else after! And if we can’t cancel because you’ve literally given us zero options then you’re gonna bill us for cancelling late….

My wife had the worst ever PAP test at AppleTree. They took the sample and said the results will be ready within 4 weeks and someone will call us to manage sending the results to our family doctor. We didn’t hear anything after 6 weeks and we had to create a portal account to see the results. However, we realized that the sample was canceled 1 day after they took it, without notifying us of retaking the test. Called them several time, stayed hours on the line and ultimately they said we need to book an appointment with their doctor so that she tell us what happened. I don’t recommend this lab for anyone planning to take PAP test. They are not responsive and pay zero attention and care to their patients.

On sunday June 19,2022 I called to the clinic and have been informed that there is some wait time but I will be able to see the Dr. Raj who was on duty for walk in at 02:35 p.m. I arrived at 02:15p.m. and informed the nurse/ clerk about my appointment and she said that she have one patient before me. I said okay but continuously she keep calling other patients jumping my name and after 42 min I complained and she called me and take me to the room and took the temp. and BP. Inside the room again she keep me 30 min simply waiting for the doctor. Very disrespectful and unpleasant service. From the very beginning I don't know why, for some reason she didn't trust me when I told her that I book my appointment a couple of hour before my arrival and secondly, which is wow very disappointing and disrespectful to keep me in the room like a baby to shut up my mouth. Is it fair for someone, who approached the front desk respectfully to be treated in such a way......or is there any identification factor between the walk in patient's??? Finally when I left the room, I told her thanks for the second wait at the room and I told her that I'm leaving without being seen or visited by the duty doctor. She NEVER showed me any feeling and nwver Appologised. I did nothing at all!!!!! Nothing!!!! Am I not human to be seen or visited by the doctor, I'm taxpayers like anyother citizens of the country. Please let me know if I missed something where the clinic or the front desk nurse looks for any patient's.....wow very disappointed and disrespected!!!! Not sure why?? I'm driving my car by 20km/hr. Karma!!!!

I'd give them 0 if I could. They have virtual appointments and book appointments with patients but never call the patients. It's been multiple times that I had a booked appointment waited hours and the doctor never called me. What a waste of our valuable time. They are taking payments by swapping the cards. But never actually calling the patients. The customer service is also absolutely unhelpful

I have been a rostered patient at the 2025 Midland location for at least 5 years now. Compared to other clinics that I have been with prior, this one has been the most efficient with an online appointment booking system, online booking system for virtual appointments. Alpha-Lab is on the fourth floor for blood tests where the Appletree family doctors receives the results promptly. An X-ray and ultra-sound facility is available on the second floor however they are always booked up to 2 months ahead and I don't recommend the X-ray/ultrasound facility for urgent requests. The doctors at Appletree are very knowledgeable and refer you to the correct specialists promptly when applicable. I appreciated the service so much that I recommended my sister, brother-in-law and wife to also roster with this location rather than using it as walk-in clinic.

At 55 years old I have yet to go to a medical facility and not had to wait. As a walkin clinic I EXPECT to wait even longer. I am not sure where all these other people go where they get fast service however I wish they would share the locations. I have been here several times to see Dr Mayouri and she is the best. So attentive and understanding. Immediately, refers me if necessary and extremely organized. You can have tests done in the building on the same day. There is always somewhere to park since they have underground parking. I am quite pleased with my experience.

Listen to the other Google reviews. I wish I could give a negative rating quite honestly. Absolutely the worst clinic my family and I have been to. The staff are not professional and quite frankly not fit for the job. Even the simplest tasks seem to be an issue for them (i.e. booking an appointment). From what I can tell, they seem to hire students basically who have zero experience who are supported (barely) by irresponsible nurses/doctors. I went to this walk in clinic with my mom for an emergency. They took a sample and then they "forgot" to send it to the lab. I only found out when my actual family doctor mentioned that he did not receive any results or anything from Appletree medical center. We later found out DAYS later that one of the main nurses forgot to send the sample. God forbid the other worse things they have done to other innocent people. Do not go here. They are simply just there to take money.

Dr. Thinakaran Mayoori is so unprofessional, my partner saw her few days back and the doc asked her to walk in anytime once the reports are in. We live far from the clinic, when walked in the doctor was available she just had to see the report and prescribe the medication as the previous medication is coming to an end and there’s no improvement. She refused to see my partner moreover there were no patients waiting in the clinic and it was empty and also we pay put of pocket for the doctor’s visit every time & she only asked we can walk in anytime. They don’t respect anyone’s time doesn’t matter what you’re going through. Never would visit any apple tree medical for anything in my lifetime and won’t let visit my known ones as well.

I was referred to an allergist but I never received a call from them so I called the clinic and I found out that they never received the referral from appletree and that’s why they didn’t contact me for an appointment. I have been waiting for them to call me for a month now. I am glad that I called and I found out otherwise I would have waited for my appointment forever. I expected better from appletree.

Do yourself a favour and stay away. If I could give reviews in negative numbers - this clinic would be a negative five. Unprofessional and rude doctors. Astronomically long wait times with no explanation. Do not make online or phone appointments as they will never see you on time. Never book appointments with Dr. Mayoori Thinakaran - this woman should have her medical license revoked. Late and unprofessional and extremely rude. Rather than explaining why she's late and apologizing for the over one hour wait time, she'll tell you to leave. Literally took her 1.5 hrs to see me despite scheduling an appointment. Her suggestion, you may leave if you wish when I've already waited over an hour. It took her .25 seconds to see me. Will be escalating this. These doctors need better bedside manners.

I understand walk in clinics come with a price (even when you book an appointment). However I noticed while sitting in the waiting area (an hour still after the booked time), whenever someone would check in with the front desk as to when they would be called, the response was always "oh...you will be seen next". Realized very quickly this is a tactic to placate the individual. But it is dishonest. I heard it said 3 times to patients that were due to see my doctor (whom I was also told I was next and had the appointment booked before). It's deceptive, and dishonest. Patients want to be told honestly. Don't give inaccurate vague reassurances. The care received by the doctors have been variable, and range from being kind and appropriate, to making bizarre conclusions (i.e., querying nerve pain, that was in fact an infection and required an ED visit). I think the model is interesting, but unless you are looking for run-at-the-mill care for refills, simple things that could be done virtually, save yourself the time.

I've only used this clinic for walk-in purposes & have received excellent care. Wait times were reasonable during my visits & I like that you can check wait times online to plan your visit. There is plenty of parking. On 1 visit Dr Shanmugarajah stitched up my finger due to a deep cut. He could have sent me off to the hospital to have that done but he took the time to do it on the spot saving me a big hassle. He was a pleasure to interact with & displayed interested in me as a person. The staff has always been friendly.

I have been in so many different Walkin clinics and family Dr but this one is absolutely different for me and will be here as long as am alive because of the treatment I get and very shot time waiting. I thank you so so much for Dr. Pamela Punungwe and her teams deserve 9 ⭐️ not 5 star ⭐️

Never got the call back for test result. Followed up with the customer service centre and the agent just asked me to book an appointment and discuss with the doctor. Where’s the point to discuss with the doctor without the results ready?

Horrible. I had an appointment for 1120am…sat in wait room until 1150am…then they had me sit in a separate room …the nurse took my blood pressure and I remained in the room for over 45mins just sitting there like I was a forgotten piece of clothes at the lost and found . Nobody even came by and at 1230 I finally had to flag down a nurse who said “the doctor was with someone” next time I’ll order Uber eats and have them deliver to my room .maybe I’ll get sone attention . It’s now 1237pm ….still waiting …..

  • 1/5 Abigail D. 10 months ago on Google
Every time I book a short appointment I have to plan on waiting at least 2 hours before I see my Doctor. Don’t book an appointment unless you can take the entire day off work. Even virtually, the wait will be well over an hour regardless of how far in advance you book your appointment. The same Doctor you book with will also be taking walk in patients, so it’s anyone’s guess how long you will be waiting.

  • 4/5 Linda P. 1 year ago on Google
Overall I had a good experience. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Biggest issue was the wait time. Had an appointment and didn’t get seen until an hour after the allocated time but the staff apologized due to being very busy.

Worst at managing appointments and walk-in patients. I accept you take walk-ins but should also honour the people’s time that take time to come in book appointments beforehand and be present on time for the appointment too. Still I got delayed 40mins from my appointment time. I think it’s better to come walk-in instead of booking appointments here. They get to go easily

There is no coordination at all. Had registered online and also booked for FAMILY doctor appointment via phone. Upon reaching clinic, the person at reception says that none of the family doctors are accepting new patients. Why couldn't this be communicated over phone?

Very slow service. I made an appointment for 1pm, thinking it would be faster than just walking in however i'm still sitting here an hour later. There was only 3 people in the waiting room when I walked in, so I'm confused why it's taking so long just to get a step 2 TB skin test. Not very happy with the service today.

Do not come to see the doctors here. This is very disorganized clinic. The medical assistant are very rude and unprofessional. Any time I am referred to a specialist, the referral is not sent through. I went to get answers when the referral will be sent to the specialist, the medical assistant told me to call the doctor. I called the clinic, they said they will follow up with the doctor. 20 days after 3 follow ups the referral was not sent yet. Poor management, they don’t read these reviews, and they don’t care to respond to reviewers. No wonder why the reviews are with 1 star. I would give them zero

I don’t know what all these maniacs are talking about, I have been here several times and just today I visited the walk in and I got to see the doctor within 20 min. I think this place needs more support from people, and people should be more patient.

Listen to google review! 🥲🥲 my appointment today was 1 hour 15 mins late after I checked in. Took my lunch break from work to come. The guy after me has to reschedule because he cannot wait for another hour. They should legit pay their patient to come for testing. The overall experience with doctor was ok. He just telling me to google it 🤔 well thank you (but actually not)

If I could give Zero Stars to this clinic I would ! The absolute WORST and most UNPROFESSIONAL medical institution in Toronto. The staff is incredibly unprofessional, never on time and the concept of booking an appointment is useless. They made me come on 2 separate occasions and wait well past 40 minutes of my appointment time, without even solving my SIMPLE concern ( a skin wart ). The doctor saw me for foot care for 5 minutes after making me wait 40 minutes PAST MY schedule appointment time on 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS and did not even attend to me. When i spoke to the reception on my last appointment to get an explanation as to why it's taking so long, the male staff yelled at me and raised his voice at me and suggested i cancel my appointment since i'm unhappy. Like many others i booked an appointment time, since i am a working individual and a specific time works for me. 15, 20 minutes late is okay, but 40 + and getting yelled at on 2 separate days and messing up multiple appointments with no treatment? RIDICULOUS. listen to others DO NOT GO HERE. they do not care for their patients and are only looking to swipe your health card. Go ELSEWHERE. this clinic deserves an action lawsuit. !!!!! the reception staff explained to me that apparently appointments just guarantee you the doc can see you the day of your appt. but does not guarantee you the time you have booked. So according to them you can wait there all day and that's okay. "

Dr. Gnanaraj Shanmugarajah never shows up for his virtual appointments. Why are you online if you never show up?! He did both times in the summer and now here in December. I see another review stating the same thing. WHY ARE YOU TAKING VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS WHEN YOU ARENT AVAILABLE?! Do you get some kind of OHIP kickback? Something is fishy, and I will 100000% get appletree or health care of Canada to investigate.

Absolute worst doctor ever. Do not book with dr. Mayoori Thinakaran. I have been requesting a fax for a referral for over a month, but in the end she never made it. The doctors confirm specialist appointments but will never send the referral even after you call. Even going in person there’s no answer. Never go here. I wasted a month of phone calls and waiting for nothing because they are incompetent. You would think a doctors office is smart

Terrible service. My family doctor retired and my medical files have been transferred to Appletree. I've been trying to get them to transfer my files to my new doctor for the past year. Paid twice and submitted a form a year apart. They told me to email them for a refund and weeks later there have been no refund for the first payment, no replies to my email, long wait time on the phone and my files still aren't being transferred. Having my medical and files under their care feels like I am stuck in purgatory.
