Not gonna lie, I had my reservations at first because it was my first time hearing about Book a Houseboat. But I take the risk as I found the most beautiful houseboat in a great location at an affordable price on the platform. When it was time for my trip, all my fears were allayed! They would send reminder emails, it was easy to communicate with the host and get directions. The entire process was very smooth. Highly recommend.

UPDATE after response from the owner - we did have a confirmed booking under my husbands name Michael. I am sure you find his name in your bookings as you sent him an email at 5:04pm less than 24h before our arrival and 4 minutes after your office closure so we definitely could not talk to you that day with the advise to try to find something else on booking.com. I have booked and paid a houseboat 6 months in advance of a long weekend in May. One day before arrival the booking has been cancelled even after agreeing the arrival time with the houseboat owner … no excuse (just double booking), no alternative. So unprofessional!

What a great alternative to traditional hotel stays - especially in a city such as Amsterdam which is known for being a little eclectic! The booking platform is easy to navigate with great detail about the listings, and communication with the houseboat hosts is often quick and friendly. Found a lovely little gem of a boat about 15 minutes from the centre of town in a lively area surrounded by great shops and restaurants - would gladly book again!

Absolutely loved my stay in Amsterdam and this was the best website I found. It was easy to use and very clear - I knew what to expect next and found the entire process smooth and efficient. It was the first time my family and myself used BookAHouseBoat for our stay at the narrowboat at London Paddington. The booking was easy, there were regular updates and reminders regarding dates and payments from the boat host and from the service, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Upon arrival it was confirmed that we had rented a great houseboat. The description was true and lived up to it's word. My daughter and I stayed 3 nights in the houseboat and it was by far the best accommodation on our Europe Trip!! It was small but had all we need and we so enjoyed sitting by the window and being visited by several floating families! It was very conveniently located and I would highly recommend this houseboat!

I'm renting out our B&B via BookaHouseboat for a year now and I have to say it is a great experience. The service is super, very friendly and very easy to speak to the right person. And they really have wonderful guests: people who really want to have a unique houseboat experience. This is a big difference with other platforms where the guests often don't really care about the fact that you try to offer a unique experience.
